Jimmy Carter hurt many farming families back in the late 70s early 80s.. Carter turned agriculture over to the corporations hurting the FAMILY farmer.
Jimmy Carter's agricultural policies, particularly the grain embargo against the Soviet Union in 1980, had significant impacts on American farmers. The embargo was a response to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and aimed to pressure the Soviet Union economically2. However, it led to a collapse in U.S. grain prices and had long-lasting effects on the agricultural sector. While Carter's intentions were to address international conflicts, the repercussions for family farmers were severe, contributing to economic hardships and a shift towards larger agricultural corporations. I can still remember how so many family farmers had to sell out to corporations. It spawned FARM AID and John Cougar's Blood on the Scarecrow. He was a weak president that the world terrorist did not fear. Some of the key issues that led to criticism include:
Iran Hostage Crisis: In 1979, Iranian revolutionaries seized 52 American hostages at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, holding them for 444 days. The failed rescue mission in 1980 further damaged Carter's reputation2.
Economic Troubles: High inflation, rising interest rates, and energy crises plagued his presidency. The "malaise" speech in 1979, where he addressed a "crisis of confidence" in America, was poorly received3.
Panama Canal Treaty: Carter's decision to hand over control of the Panama Canal to Panama was controversial and seen by some as a sign of weakness

I was working for a lumber yard for a few weeks to cover my friend who busted up his ankle doing moto-cross. I delivered lumber to a Habitat-For-Humanities job-site. I was unloading the lumber from the truck and saw him outta of my side vision. I asked the site foreman "Is that President Jimmy Carter?...site foreman told me ya...I'm not dreaming. Prayers and Condolences to President Jimmy Carter's family and friends. I recently learned about his accomplishments on the Rachel Maddow show, she did a story on him and it caught my interest.. This man is a HERO. In December in 1952, a nuclear research facility in the small Canadian town of Chalk River became a problem with a partial meltdown. It was Jimmy Carter that came to that rescue. The story was absolutely incredible. It made him a National Hero. He deserved much more than being called a Peanut Farmer. That may be what he did but he had much more agenda's even after his Presidency. Habitat for Humanity was his work over the years to help people achieve a home of their own. He will be missed greatly. Salute to you President Carter you were one of the best Hero Presidents there ever was. RIP!!

An interesting fact was that President Carter, who beat President Ford in the 1976 election, later became good friends. Ford asked Carter to give the euology at his funeral, which he did when Ford died in 2006. When they were in office, cooperation, compromise, and respect were normal elements of US politics at all levels. Both were decent men who tried their best on behalf of the American people. Sadly, we may never see the likes of them behind that desk in the Oval Office again. I had the unique opportunity to shake hands with President Ford twice: first when I was a young boy during the 1976 Campaign, and then 24 years later at a dinner in his honor. I was upset when Mr. Carter won that election. While some may say his presidency was a failure, no one should say anything negative about the way he conducted his life after he left the White House. RIP President Carter.

The Bible teaches there is NO MARRIAGE in heaven for previous spouses.
True followers of Christ are the Bride of Christ.

He would’ve never lived that long had he been a non president. An ordinary working class blue collar man would not of gotten the quality of treatment he did.

I was in grade school when Carter was president, so I didn't really understand the scope of politics back then. Today, ideologically speaking, we would be opposites. Nevertheless, this man was a former President of the United States and I respect him for that. May he rest in peace.

A great president that his party turned it's back on loosing to Reagan . He was the most honest and caring president we have had which is not surprising he helped to seal a peace deal with Egypt and Israel . What he had done after his presidency with habit for humanity is incredible. He was ahead of his time and why he wasn't accepted at that time . He was my first election I voted in and I voted for Jimmy .
