The political people could not handle these types of questions today💯Give President Carter and Mrs. Carter credit for answering everything candidly whether you agreed or not. This is so interesting to watch 40 years hence. I was a young adult who voted for Carter in 1980. I then was in art school for most of the Reagan Presidency. At the time I was really struck by how Reagan lived across the surface of things…his oratory wove narratives with no real content. I was disappointed the very individual and intellectually compelling presence of Carter did not resonate enough to see him for a second term of the American Presidency.
    A very unique man. 🍃

@Dobbythecat123 To answer your question, a desegregationist was someone who actively campaigned and advocated for an end to racial segregation in the United States back when it was still widespread policy, ie: the era of Jim Crow, ie: post Civil War, post Reconstruction, but pre Civil Rights movement (the MLK / bus boycott years). It was roughly 100 years or so after the civil war ended that many places in the USA still imposed horrible unjust segregation policies against black people. Carters dad felt outraged and disgusted by this injustice and campaigned against it to help the country become more fair for black people and others.
