    I remember loving and really wanting the Project Quantum prototype when it was first shown long ago. You've done a great job replicating it! Amazing build! I would love to print up one for an HTPC/Mini Console build!

      I try to use the stock parts until I have no option to, but there are definitely more ways to approach the antennas and the laptop path is a great one!

    That's pretty neat, I agree... it's definitely a shame they never came out with this damn case! Now if only a pretty beefy GPU could be added into this form factor... one can dream. :)

    I don't have enough patience, to build minipc's, so i'll stick with desktop/medium towers but i really like your build.
    Maybe you might like this idea; a wooden vinyl case (at least side panels).

    Asrock X300M-STX is an excellent and impressive miniSTX motherboard as a base for a mini-PC using an AMD APU type Renoir(4xxxG) or Cézanne(5xxxG), offering excellent performance for multimedia or gaming (for an APU), myself I have one under Ryzen 7 5700G with iGPU Vega8 overclocked to 2500MHz and 32GB(2x16GB Samsung B-Die) DDR4 SO-DIMM overclocked to 4000MHz(with IF syncro 1:1 and latency in CL16-18-18-36 -1T), which increases the performance of the iGPU by 35% to 45% depending on the games used. Anyway, you have a really nice build.

    I'd love to see something like this, but for a midrange gaming build. Probably would have to be a little bit bigger, but something like a ryzen 5600 and some kind of small form factor gpu preferably Radeon if they have a good one. You'd probably have to give up the water cooling and put a little bit bigger feet on the bottom for air flow and find a small or flexible enough pcie extender for the graphics card but I think that would be an amazing build!

    An alternative build on this could be using laptop a grade GPU and adaptor board in the top section with passthrough cooling from low-speed, but large, case fans.
    Perhaps might involve printing a wider version of the case to allow airflow around the motherboard, and a more raised underside ... but, yeah!

    I see a great controller for that game you were playing at the end. It's the IINE Mouse-pad Pro controller over at Ali-Express but it's fifty dollars. I am ordering one and if it doesn't do what I want I will use "Joy to Key" with it.

    When you print IO holes, during design you can add your own supports that you can cut out later. I don't trust autogenerated supports and it's very easy to just add 0.4mm cuboids for 1 line wide supports.

      Will check it out for future prints! How much more time is to add the supports manually vs automatic prints? They both pose risks when processing from my experience.

      @@standupg4m3r I suppose automatic takes less time, but we're looking at minutes in comparison. Your control over the supports vastly out does the best auto supports can ever do though, as you can hide contacting faces in many crafty ways, making cleanup much shorter.

    u could use an aluminium sheet for the top as antena, i would save u space, and help in the heat dissipation

      u would probably need to give some space between the plate and the structure, due to air flow, but i would look cleaner, our u could just built the AMD logo in metal, it would be also good as antena

      @@davidjordaomoreira4196 a revisit of this is actually in rummaging in my mind, since I’ve seen a user on Reddit post a sandwich GPU/CPU water block mimicking the original Project Quantum… it would be bigger but would also be more gaming capable than the iGPU being used in this project now.

      Thanks for watching. This seems to be a popular topic asked many times in my comments; I purchase these parts with my own money and someone could possibly claim the numbers for RMA leaving me without any warranty. Unfortunately people can’t be their best selves all the time.

      If the dimensions stay the same (STX mounting, and AM5 mounting compatibility) it should drop right in. :)

      Thanks for watching! I purchased all these parts with my own money, and if I want to keep my warranty (for the parts I have not mangled!) I have to make sure no one has processed an RMA using the S/N. It's case by case, but I am just taking precautions.

      It's been sanded, dropped in paint, stepped on, submerged in diet coke, and it just keeps kicking! I have a separate station for real soldering work, but I like using this beat up old one since it can touch plastic and I won't cry about it. Thanks for watching btw!

      Someone already asked, but I paid for the parts myself and there is a chance some bad actors could use my S/N for warranty claims and leave me in the dry if I needed it. Bigger RUclipsrs get stuff for free so it’s no issue for them.

      The G1/4 system was originally intended to be used with an oring at its flange, and it is what I chose to go with. Leaving the included grommet inside may have lead to a compromise on the sealing if I also left the oring located at the flange - two sealing systems that are meant to be squished would have been too risky imho. And relying on just the included grommet would have introduced variables (how far Barb would have gone in) that I again didn’t want to deal with since the tubing routing was already as complicated as it is.
