I want to buy a Fisker for $3.5k & use it to power my home when needed!
I can't believe they lasted this long.
When Henrik told us paying a third part to build the vehicle helped get rid of the middlemen I knew he was doomed… to be fair he was CEO so I already knew they were dead. Just wish I held my short full term. That would have paid 10x more.

These cars have buggy software. Fisker was unable to fix the software.
They're just betting that they can get enough in lease payments before they brick. Then just scrap them as they do brick.
I think FSD will be far better when cars communicate with each other. That’s the “next step” that will make human drivers obsolete.
If the Fisker code is made open source, then it could be updated much like Linux is. Startups looking to build EV could use it as starting operating system unless another EV player wishes to acquire the intellectual property and add features the code may have that they lack.
code is probably spaghetti, thats what happens when businesses dont invest for the future but invest in selling the company asap
@@TurdFergusen a recent startup such as this one wouldn't have many self-taught spaghetti programmers from the 1970's. They'd have properly taught college and university programmers who would know how to do OOP properly. Their first language would have been Java or C# not BASIC or COBOL. Tesla's OS was based on Linux so it's possible that C++ might have been used if it's also Linux based.

@@TurdFergusen modern day commercial A.I are able to examine their own code, identify bugs and suggest corrections and more efficient algorithms. They could potentially refactor existing code if that is the case. If it becomes open source, and you have a team of programmers motivated to use it for their own purposes it could happen. The code from the failed Netscape startup was the code base on which Firefox was built. Similarly The open source Ur-Quan Masters game was derived from the 3DO version of Star Control II that was donated.
I think the next one will be Aptera and they haven't even started yet.
Fisker company may be down but Fisker the ceo is up so much. He and his family getting a lot richer from this. It won't be long until he start new car company because it's a good business (for him)
As an investor, I care about the technical competency of the leadership of any technology or manufacturing company in my portfolio. It's the difference between Steve Jobs and Tim Cook, or between Satya Nadella and Steve Ballmer. It's also one of the great many differences between Fisker and Tesla. I hope Rivian can turn a profit soon, because R2 and R3 look awesome. Land Rover and Subaru should be scared!
Not even Geely group wanted to buy the company... which was offered to them... that was a huge red flag

Also other car companies will eventually have to compete with the Chinese EV cars. Which is compatible to Tesla from what I heard.
Around the IPO timeline, Fisker claim that they are working on new tech battery which will increase battery range to 500 plus miles with fast charging time. Obviously Fisker was lying but there was no way to fact check it

Hopefully Rivian and Lucid can survive. They’ve started at the top of the market, but when Tesla did it, they were the only company in the business.

Fisker didn't learn from his original mistake car company that went belly up. He came out with a sleek looking SUV with the Ocean but it suffered from hardware and software problems similar to the first release of the VW ID4. The difference between VW and Fisker was that VW had a longer history, established production lines and parts suppliers as well as staff. And they could fall back on their ICE sales in a pinch.
Before I got my Model Y I was really considering a Fisker but glad I didn't get one. I really thought they had potential but they made a lot of bad moves, over sold their capabilities and simply have poor timing in a crowded market full of EV SUVs. All that on top of starting out in a weak economy as well as dealing with a lot of EV FUD.
It would be nice if someone bought them out like Apple who knows software and can make it an excellent car.

Pam here…this is a case of too much tech is too dependent. I kind of like the Aptera philosophy of right to repair. Making things simpler and less software dependent. The point you make about the FORD LIghtnig’s simplicity proves you have LESS to fail and brick the vehichle.
Sad that an EV company went under.

Fisker as an investment has always been a hard pass for me...
Other brands of BEV`s failing isnt good news for the Tesla mission which is to move the world towards sustainable energy... its far better for the Tesla mission when the gas fueled auto brands fail instead ...
I take one ... fisker is a great example of a very creative person trying to be a manager .
Fisker designed some beautiful cars but certainly had issues with the truth.
