What I am hearing is future repairability and compatibility issues due to mechanical, electronic hardware and software, firmware and control. the question I have if the motor burns out 5 years down the line, will I need a whole new bike because bolt patterns or controller connections or phone compatibility has moved on.
Cues was the wrong move on the shimano no one wants it it's Di2 or nothing when comes to ebikes for shimano derailleurs that's all we are seeing in the discussion forums at the moment about all this, but we are all waiting for the TRP A12 EASI date and price tag we need to more information on this release date as I personally know of 4 friends including myself with a sore head just now with wanting to upgrade but can't get any more info out the stone! So starting to snap up the Sram GX systems as have been reduced to a reasonable price now and silly not to take advantage of it!
Bosch mid drive systems have rusted and suffered lubrication issues and the consumer is left without a solution other than to have a certified shop clean the internals and apply again a heavy grease. I know the solution. And it's important because so many bosch systems have died prematurely. : oil fill ports, sealed gears with oil ports, weep holes drilled into electronics-housings to allow moisture to leave but rain not to enter. for handle bar displays the IP rating needs to meet the actual challenge of mother nature. It isnt hard with potting, conformal coatings, weepholes. rear hub systems are nice on through axles but ive seen the axle twist or raise out unevenly from the dropouts causing the wheel to sit cooked in the stays. i've drilled holes in the shell and it is a Excellent solution to water and lubrication issues.
@@YOURWIFEISAFATPIG its is very popular to see the innards shown on youtube of the bosch systems used in rain. I heard one guy who had 4 or 5 rebuilds. It is due the design of using a gasket that will fail with temperature changes and use and grease inside that doesnt protect angainst rust like a thinner oil would. The solution is to use a thinner grease added throguh an oil port. A small dremel bit does it
Bosch and Shimano working together never thought I'd see that on on e-bike system
Indeed
