Hi Robert, Thank you for your comment. The PowerMore is IP65 rated, so it's highly protected from dust and can withstand rain and low-pressure water jets. But it's not submersible. If you mount it correctly, it should be suitable for off-road use. Hope this helps! Cheers - Michael

Hi and thank you for your comment. You're right-those features do seem like workarounds for the lack of a throttle, which is mostly down to legal requirements, especially in Europe. Over here, e-bikes are regulated to only provide assistance while pedaling, with a motor limit of 250 watts and a speed cap of 25 km/h (15.5 mph). Throttles aren't allowed on standard e-bikes. If a bike has a throttle, it would be classified as a speed pedelec or even a motorcycle, depending on the power and speed, and would require extra certifications, insurance, and licensing. Also, you wouldn't be able to use bike paths. So, while it might seem a bit awkward compared to a simple thumb throttle, it's all about staying within the legal limits in different countries. Hi Sonny, and thank you for your comment. This is a good point. In this case, the battery always has some "reserve power." This means that even if the remaining range displays 0 and the motor no longer provides assistance, the electronic shifting, as well as the front and rear lights, will still work using that reserve power. What we don't know is what happens when the battery is completely drained. The electronic shifting might automatically switch to a lower gear so the bike remains rideable, or nothing may happen, and you simply cannot shift anymore. Cheers - Michael

Hi, and thank you for your comment! In theory, this should work since the HPP provides 12V. However, I'm not familiar with the Quadlock system, so you might be better off contacting them or Bosch directly. Also, the HPP only delivers power when the bike is turned on. Cheers - Michael

​@@ebike24 Thanks for the information. I managed to get it to work, but now I wonder if the provided hpp amperage is limited from the engine. The quadlock can draw up to 2A. Wouldn't want to burn the hpp. I know hpp supports temporary peak amp. So I assume it must support some kind of safety against overheating.

In this case, the Kiox 500 or any other "Smart System" displays will not be compatible with your bike. The older Purion indicates that your bike is equipped with the "Bosch eBike System 2" software rather than the "Smart System." You could, however, upgrade to the original Kiox display (not the one featured in this video) or the Nyon display. Both will be compatible with your bike.
