Face's legacy is much more important than having single success. I rarely go back to singles, I go back to album cuts like "Heaven" from the fix, that are still as relevant as they were when they were release. You can damn near raise a boy to become a stand up man off Scarface's catalog.
Scarface is in my top 10, his story telling and voice is iconic. A versus between he and Ice Cube is well overdue, and a collaboration album with Cube and Face in the 90's would of challenged Red and Meth's first joint project!
One of the best discographies in Rap Music history. I definitely agree with the top 3. The Diary is his best album period!!!! The Diary is one of the three best albums ever from the south. Scarface is one of the 10 best MC’s of all time.
Bro I thought it was just me but I love Untouchable. Smartz, Money make the world go round, Mary Jane, Smile, this might be Face’s most balanced album. Easily #1 for me. And that A G 2 A KE album been in my rotation since 98 when it was released. Very underrated album. Wish they would’ve dropped more music back then

Tell'em again! Classic album. I think the biggest mistake Face made with it though is not making those bonus trk official album cuts. Those bonus trks were better than some of the songs on the official trk list.

even Balls & My Word and My Homies 2 have some great tracks despite them being thrown together / unofficial I’d have to say Untouchable is my personal favorite and a classic but The Diary is obviously a masterpiece.

The Jay stannery never ceases lol. I wouldn’t say Jay outshined Nas in the slightest (and the In Between Us beat is far from weak-nor is it the weakest beat on the album). It could be argued that Beans outshined everybody on Guess Who’s Back. Dope video though. I would’ve gone 1. Diary, 2. The Fix, 3. Mr. Scarface is Back, 4. Untouchable, and 5. In 2013 Scarface told Complex “I did that record originally in the studio by myself and it was called ‘Knocked Hard’ cause everything that came out of the motherfucker knocked hard. I originally did the record solo but then Too $hort was in town and he came in. I made the beat right before I went to a Too $hort show and then I wrote the verse and laid it while Too $hort wrote and laid his verse that same night.” He also said “It was originally me, Devin, and Too $hort. When I finished the record and turned it in, I heard it again and Tela was on my shit. When Jay had an artist that was just ready to come out that artist was going to be on your album whether you wanted him on there or not. Nothing against Tela, but it was good. CT, your list somewhat accurate. As Scarface being my favorite rapper I wasnt a big fan of The Fix. Maybe because it was too commercial for me. I notice and Balls and My Word was not mentioned. Thats ok because that album wasnt it! It was a bunch of old Scarface songs thrown on an album. My Homies part 1 is better than part 2. The double disk collabs you have to keep the audiences' attention though. Not a bad list. I would have bumped Made and Untouchable up some more on your list though.

I became a Nas fan because I heard his verse on The Fix in the barbershop even though the song is weak. I’m partial to The Fix because I was there for that but objectively The Diary is hard to argue.

They are compilation albums that imo incorrectly get grouped in as solo projects. To my knowledge, he wasn't that involved with Homies 2. I think the label put most or some of it together. Like his album Balls In My Word wasn't even put out by him. That was a RAL money grab they threw together (even though that album has some bangers on it no doubt). Untouchable being #6 is a sin, come on CT team. I don't like including the My Homies series in his rankings but since your ranking did I will also. Here's my rank from fav to least fav. Mr. Scarface Is Back Untouchable The Diary (this is mos def Face breakthrough album. He gained new fans with it.) The Fix ( a lot of east coast sound biased people luv this album. If your a black kid from the South you remember hearing Scarface in the car or barbershop for the first time. As a music fan of course I want the classics, how much money is enough? I wouldn’t want to be wack. Scarface is in every Southern rappers DNA.
I became a Nas fan because I heard his verse on The Fix in the barbershop even though the song is weak. I’m partial to The Fix because I was there for that but objectively The Diary is hard to argue.
I think his first album is the classic and best album. It’s a movie where he rises up and dies at the end

Face is my #1 fav rapper. So excuse my passion for this ranking in advance. My Homies has no biz being dead last. Around my way that album was a hit and got a LOT of luv. Also, did I hear you say no Face vocals on the album? Maybe I misunderstood you. The My Homies series were not Face solo albums. They are compilation albums that imo incorrectly get grouped in as solo projects. To my knowledge, he wasn't that involved with Homies 2. I think the label put most or some of it together. Like his album Balls In My Word wasn't even put out by him. That was a RAL money grab they threw together (even though that album has some bangers on it no doubt). Untouchable being #6 is a sin, come on CT team. I don't like including the My Homies series in his rankings but since your ranking did I will also. Here's my rank from fav to least fav.
