    Thank you for a really helpful video. I'm about to put in my first PIP claim and to say that I have felt overwhelmed by the whole process before I'd even begun is an understatement. Thanks for breaking down the sections and unpacking them in plain English! You're a star. 🙂

    I was advised by my care coordinator and work coach at the job centre to say what you are like on your worst days, dont lie but exaggerate and put emphasis on things like negative symptoms. Ive heard horror stories of people loosing their money.

    • @DeeannaLouise
      @DeeannaLouise  9 месяцев назад +7

      I've heard this too, I suppose it's more about focusing on your worst days in comparison to talking about your good ones

    Thank you so much for your advice. Being organised and having a structured approach, keeping evidence and recorded delivery for the form is easy to say, but when you’re anxious, in pain and on opioids it is difficult to maintain that focus. ❤

    If you send something Signed For it's automatically tracked. You can call the pip helpline and give them the tracking code so they know when it's arrived. This is the only proof the DWP will accept for sending your form.

    • @DeeannaLouise
      @DeeannaLouise  10 месяцев назад +3

      Yeah that's kinda what I was trying to say, it'll say it's received by DWP

    My advice is fill out your PIP form online then you can upload all your evidence, from hospital etc its so much easier. Then you have a record which is kept online and you can refer back. Saves time and photocopies

    • @DeeannaLouise
      @DeeannaLouise  8 месяцев назад +4

      Are you able to fill it out online now? That wasn't an option when I applied.

      @@DeeannaLouise hiya I filled out my PIP form last year online. When I applied DWP asked if I wanted postal forms or complete online. So choose online. So much easier

      My advice is to ring citizens advice as they were a great help to me. I also have another video about pip which breaks down all the criteria and particularly for mental health

    I just got diagnosed with severe arthritis in my hand which has been very limiting and painful for a long time, would I have to go through the whole assessment again to add this, I already get a standard daily living rate.

    • @DeeannaLouise
      @DeeannaLouise  8 дней назад

      If you already get the standard daily living rate I'm not sure but if you call the pip helpline for current claims you should be able to ask. But just be careful because they might reassess you completely which could result in your pip being taken away. It's a matter of whether you want to risk what you currently have.
      The alternative is to call citizens advice and ask what they think

    • @fdghn4567
      @fdghn4567 5 дней назад

      @@DeeannaLouise I'll leave things as they are because I did tell them about the limitations regarding the pain in my hand, the only difference now is that it has been formerly diagnosed. The daily living allowance is for other health issues and my hand problem just adds to the difficulties.

    They should come and see you face to face and actually look at the disabled person instead of a phone assesment as it is so stressful,we were actually physically shaking after my Partners and he has Heart problems including having had surgery and was advised to avoid stress !You feel like a criminal who is having to prove their innocence.We dread it !😢

    If you tell the truth like I did . you'll get turned down there's a scuzzbag who lives by my mother he's lied his teeth out and got accepted..pip said I can plan a journey on my own that wasn't even discussed and no I can't go out alone

    • @DeeannaLouise
      @DeeannaLouise  5 месяцев назад

      I know it feels like that, the PIP system is messed up and is wrong for so many reasons. I feel the main issue is that they don't know how to properly assess mental health conditions. Good luck if you decide to reapply. Thank you for watching my video 😊
