I was refused the mobility part and the reason is i can grip a walking stick...and this was a phone assessment by a male nurse who knew nothing about spines as he said on my report i should use adapted crutches for support...i mean they are for lower body support and would be dangerous for a badly twisted spine..said i could walk 200meters repeatedly and 200 meter alone is equivalent to a football field..i have cages and metal work holding my badly twisted and curved spine together yet was refused mobility don't make sense really...
Hi, I wonder if you can help me. I get the enhanced daily living aspect of pip but was turned down for mobility. I won on appeal. My problem now is that my physical health is much worse and need a hip replacement which will happen in in approximately 6 months. I have moderate osteoarthritis in all my joints and neck, blepharitis, osteoporosis, copd, as well as suffering long term anxiety and depression. My back, neck and hip are virtually keeping me homebound and has made my mental health much worse. My question is: can I apply for the mobility aspect of pip after being turned down for it 2 years ago? Kind regards Liz
Thank you for the information. I am in the process of completing my PIP form for Crohn’s disease and Mental health difficulties. Does Louise help with individual cases? If so does she have a contact number?
very good video - learnt a lot.
You can claim PIP up until you claim state pension so its now 66 or 67 depending on your date of birth.

Yes you can apply again as being turned down once does not mean you never get it again, I have done this many times.
What if one needs another person to accompany for neurological reasons, not mental/cognitive/developmental?
Good question.. my husband has Parkinson’s, he walks ok ish but never leaves home without me due to anxiety
Yet he was awarded lower mobility rate!
Picture in bottom right corner is creepy
