Chaiyya Chaiyya Bollywood Joint - Inside Man (film)

Remixes of the song were used in the opening and closing credits of the 2006 film, Inside Man, starring Denzel Washington & Clive Owen, directed by Spike Lee and produced by Brian Grazer. The opening credits have an abridged version of the original with additional trumpet accompaniment and the closing credits feature a hip-hop-inflected remix featuring Punjabi MC ("Chaiyya Chaiyya Bollywood Joint").

I've been following this song since it first came out in inside man. My only explanation regarding this comment of yours is due to lack of exposure to hollywood movies. This movie came out when people hardly watched any Hollywood movies. Hollywood trend came to india on a much later stage and thus this song went unnoticed.
