I am from Tamilnadu, this is our famous Toy train travels from Mettupalayam - Coimbatore to Ooty. 56 kilometer of pure joy. It runs in minimum speed and we use to get down while ride an pluck wild fruits and board the train again. It passes through various waterfalls, canyon and tunnels. definitely you all should have in your wish list.

@@americansreviewI have travelled many times in this toy train to Ooty. The speciality of the train is it has 3 rails instead 2 rails. While going upto the hills the Engine pushes the coaches from the tail and coming down it pulls the coaches. Coimbatore Tamil Nadu India people knows very well.The middle rail is toothed one.
Why no credit is given to talented Director Mani Ratnam here? It was his idea to have the dance atop a moving train. At a time when Drones were non existent, Mani Ratnam gave us this Masterpiece. Simply remarkable.

Find something that makes you happy and be happy with it. Wether the train was fast moving or not is hardly the point I made. He was the only person on that train that was without safety when they did the song and it takes courage and crazy amount carelessness to do that and that was my point here. He’s been doing things others would hesitate to do since he joined and that’s why he’s where he is today. I have every right to applaud his bravery and accomplishments if that bothers you please put your time and energy into something that’s pleasant to you. Good day

So if you actually pay attention to the music then despite the high beats and choreo its actually a relaxing and laid back song. The audience is viewer of the dance and music. It makes you experience as you are traveling and watching people dancing and singing and you are enjoying this beautiful scenery and just shaking your body to the good music. The lyrics, cinematography and music doesn't make you a participant of the whole ordeal but a voyeur. The camera shots are never between the dance performers or from the performers view, it is always from the people sitting around them and even drone shots gives of similar experience that while you are static in your position the others are moving.
This type of music and playing used to be common in general trains among commin masses. Probably not in big cities but I do remember from my childhood when mobile phones were not there and litreacy rates were not high enough for everyone to engage in books and newspapers, this was one way to pass good time while on a journey.
Yes, I have heard of performers on Indian trains...but you are right, quite a unique and beautiful thing to capture. :)

All the Dance artist and Malaika Arora took support but SRK didn't took any support on a moving train. It is a fact of this music video.

I have seen srk first during shooting of his 1st movie dil asna hai with heroine late divya bharti and producer hema malini in the year 1992. The shooting take 10 kms from my home at Dadra garden. Now aI am in USA.

You didn't actually understand or mention that, the music is actually inspired by the sounds made by train while moving.
See the movie. Woman on train was what is called the "item girl" who will show up in Bollywood movie. Do dance/sing but doeasnt have anything to do with the plot. The love interest is already ahead if this train and let me tell you the end was ...well..watch the movie. India is my fave..but they do some crazy plot twists.

It took 4 and half day to shot this song. Actually this train was on doing daily trip during the shooting. Every single person on this song was connected to the train through a rope except SRK, cause he has to do more dancing steps than anybody else. He hesitated to rope himself

To this day, I have no idea how they filmed this. How is the camera steady (a film camera at that) on a moving train, while people are dancing around them, and how is the shot in focus? I have to give it up to Mani Ratnam for just deciding to do it and then actually pulling it off.
