You are so right. Once you've seen prints of your work, it immediately gives you 2x confidence / feedback of what to improve and or just go out and keep doing it. It just love. If you shoot with great gear it's an insult to photogrpahy to just keep it on SD cards.
I mean... WOW! Not only the picture itself, but sorry telling as well as taking the viewer through the journey is out of this world. Well done Ben, for me this is the best channel out there.
Beautiful. You entered that zone that Nick Brandt lives in and that Robert Capa told us all was where the really good photos are to be made. My daughter is a philosophy major and is reading a book about the history of infinity. At the time of Galileo and Kepler, when the former had made his first astronomical instruments, there was serious philosophical debate about whether these instruments made the stars bigger, or just brought them closer. History settled on closer, thus we call it the telescope. But you've shown that that is an entirely different kind of "closer" than actually moving your body closer. Nothing beats a photo made by zooming with your feet. (or "creeping" as you put it ;-)
Hi Ben, thanks for sharing this story. I too have just bought a Q2 and I am getting more and more excited about the possibilities this camera will bring. Cheers, Steve
Very impressive. I'm a Nikon shooter for 30+ years, owning all recent good Nikon stuff (Z8, Zf, Plena lens, etc. )- but I also bought a Leica Q3 just recently. I'm keeping my Nikons and Z-lenses for exactly these motives your are sowing here: birds of prey. Plus action like cars and planes and sports. The Q3 I bought for street and as an EDC camera. But now, to see what can be done with it too is a revelation - many thanks for this! BTW, I subscribed to your channel yesterday, after I saw some other clips - for instance the portrait session with Ry - very nice too.
Ben, you really have a way of drawing the viewer to experience what led up to this incredible image as if we were there. I felt the excitement...great story telling. Several months ago I sold my Q2 for the SL2-S because I needed more flexibility in my approach to image making. I do however feel as though I lost my best friend. I used to take my Q2 everywhere. I do plan to buy another Q2 because you can crop images with a 47 megapixel sensor and not loose quality and that lux 28mm 1.7 lens is absolutely stunning. Keep up the great work.
Great story and an amazing shot Ben 👌🏻. Love seeing people who are thinking "out of the box" and produce pictures like this. Your channel is really a awesome place for inspiration 😇. Thanks a lot 🙏🏻.
Have you updated your firmware to 4.0? As soon as I updated the firmware I lost the ability to view photos via Bluetooth. Leica support hasn’t been able to solve the issue.
Great story telling Ben - very engaging. They resulting image is fantastic. Even the pre-crop version was great, capturing the scene with the main eagle still being a powerful anchor on the photo. But that printed version, just wow. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Ben have enjoyed all your videos since I subscribed to your channel. But this one is going to go up to my top 5 most enjoyable. The time lapse was amazing with everything, weather places etc so beautiful. I’ve only known the island in passing and from geography lessons at school many decades ago but your video made them a possible place to visit just for its beautiful wilderness. Love the Q2, have had mine for over two years now, great for travelling and all round photography. Thanks for sharing, stay safe.
This is a great story. I am the same way with vultures in the Southwest. They aren't on top of the food chain but they are so huge and hard to get even from a distance. Thanks for sharing.
That's a fabulous image, Ben. Fascinating to hear the story of how you got the image as well as the information and footage on Dutch Harbor and the Aleutian Islands. Its not a part of Alaska that I've heard anything about before so I definitely learned something. Keep up the great work and I'd be happy to see more videos on your wildlife photography if you choose to make them. 👍
This was so inspiring to watch! Congrats with this image - it is just stunning. My home away from home is the Masai Mara in Kenya (yes, I know I am privileged..) You inspire me to do something like this with raptors down there. If I ever succeed, I will let you know:-) And I love watching the Deadliest Catch - awesome production!
Impressive shot - have the Q2 and an xt4 with lots of lenses - it is collecting dust as the Q2 feels so great in the hand - also found a way of getting stronger colour as a I found even stronger colour not strong enough - keep it up - Best R
Hello Ben another great video what a fantastic photograph I am a Q2 user just would like to know how you set up your camera do you use a hand held meter or use the cameras settings
just subscribed and thumbs up I found you by looking for Leica Q2 Repoter videos.Btw I am not a Leica owner yet I still shoot with Nikon D800 for yrs . Being on the right moment etc and now your stuff Photography starts with 18% of gray.
Мне очень понравилась ваша история и то, как вы описывали своё приближение к орлу. Очень забавно и в то же время поэтично. Аляска - прекрасная земля. И люди там живут замечательные - вы тому яркий пример.

Means a lot. Thank you very much.
Stunning shot! Just shows that it’s the photographer, not the camera that makes the photo. As with all your other work. Totally inspirational stuff!

Mesmerizing! Thanks for your stories. Love them all.

Have you updated your firmware to 4.0? As soon as I updated the firmware I lost the ability to view photos via Bluetooth. Leica support hasn’t been able to solve the issue.
That sucks. I haven’t updated mine yet. And I almost never use the Bluetooth. But Leica needs to make it better.
Great story telling Ben - very engaging.
They resulting image is fantastic. Even the pre-crop version was great, capturing the scene with the main eagle still being a powerful anchor on the photo. But that printed version, just wow.

Just had a selectable spot. Thats generally what I use. Thanks!
Awesome shot Ben! Can you tell us more about the Focus? AF?MF? I finally got my Q2 Mono.. Can't wait to get out here.. which is in 3,2,1...

Hello Ben
another great video what a fantastic photograph I am a Q2 user just would like to know how you set up your camera do you use a hand held meter or use the cameras settings
Shoot manual. Meter in camera. Thanks.
Great story. My buddy also spent some time out there but he was disposing old Russian bombs. Sounds like your gig was a little less stressful.
Awesome. Ive been to the bomb places. That’s another story.
amazing 👍🤘
Thanks ✌️
