Ezekiel bread is the only bread i eat. I have one slice with my coffee in the morning. I like the Flax seed version. I follow the blood type diet and this is the only bread that I should be eating for my blood type which is O. O blood types shouldn’t be eating grains for most part but this bread is an exception. You can freeze the bread too if you want to buy extra loafs. But then I keep it in the fridge once it’s in use. Truly delicious and very satisfying and nutritious.

Check out the brand Food for Life - 7 Sprouted Grains, generally in the same area as the Ezekiel. The difference between the two being that Food for Life brand doesn't contain any soy, unlike the Ezekiel, if that slight difference matters to you.

I've been eating almost exclusively Ezekiel bread for more than 10 years. These days, in my area, you can only find it frozen. At Trader Joe's they put it on the bread shelf still frozen so I typically buy three loaves and rush home to keep if frozen. And you probably know that recent research shows that freezing somehow tones down the sugar spike from eating carbs such as that in bread. I used to have to deal with how quickly unfrozen Ezekiel bread molds, but most of us by now appreciate very much that it doesn't contain chemicals to prevent the mold. I tell friends that it is an "acquired taste" but soon enough one finds it delicious. Mostly I eat it toasted, and coming straight out of the freezer that is the way to do it. Anyway, like I said, turn up the volume! With it gaining in popularity I certainly hope that Ezekiel won't begin to inflate its price, for example the way that Bragg's apple cider vinegar had done. I refuse to buy it now that it has more than doubled it's price in fewer that 2 years. I got along quite well without it before I was convinced by its blanket promotion in places like RUclips.

If you do a fasting glucose test and eat one slice of white bread in the morning then test blood sugar in one hour then 2 hours. Then do the same the next day with Ezekiel bread you will see very little difference in the rise in blood sugar with either one. Both raise blood sugar fast.

I'm 42 and trying to get into decent shape. I'm currently working out what kind of healthy meals I can have with this for quick and easy meals at work or when I just don't feel like doing anything at home.
    So far I have:
2 slices served open face each with a tablespoon of good quality peanut butter. I get a brand called Once Again. This meal comes in at 370 calories.
Two slices served open face, each with a poached egg with a bit of salt and pepper. 340 calories.
I'm hoping for some good results in a few months, and going to try and stick pretty hard to it, only having the one cheat day a week where I'll just eat whatever I want for each meal.
But let's be real here. This is not a satisfying substitute if you're looking to make a good old-fashioned peanut butter and jelly, or a grilled cheese. You need regular old off the shelf white bread trash for that. Are some good quality artisan bread.

Nutrients can be received through other sources besides bread any bread. As A diabetic trying to keep my carb count low. No sugar no brainer. But the carb count on this bread can not be considered low. One sandwich and I am over my carbs for the day. Can get all the nutrients I need without eating bread or by making one of the many low carb or keto flour "breads" that are high in fiber and moderate protein. Some with one carb per slice. So using terms "better than" or hide behind nutrients with carbs is just a way to eat what one wants to eat then justify it. Carbs out way any nutrient gain for anyone insulin resistant eating bread. If not insulin resistant then one can eat anything and not part of any discussion on sugar and carbs being healthy or not.

There are numerous factors when considering blood sugar spiking, including nutritional supplements. There are several supplements that greatly assist with this, if that is your concern. We shouldn't have to go over speed-bumps, the speeders should be caught. Similarly, you should do what's necessary for your blood sugar, if it's that bad, including perhaps spending a few measly dollars on a nutritional supplement that actually works, vs. a dud. One i highly recommend is Benfotiamine. Very inexpensive and phenomenal. Never let a piece of bread interfere with enjoying a snack or meal, when you can neuter the negatives of the bread. Just like consuming foods high in omega 6 ... counter that meal with some omega 3 - food or supplement. How much is your heslth worth? Considering how we vote, and all the junk spent on stuff, don't allow a few dollars to ruin your mindset.

  • @zardoz7900

I ate it for many years. Im almost 53 now. Time to part ways. Still it spikes glucose and has added gluten which is inflammatory.. all that high carb stuff inflames your arteries and over time you get hemorrhoids, bulging varicose veins and later on cardiac events, etc... Time to say goodbye and go with very low glycemic carbs instead, like pistachios or strawberries. Or keto bread if you must and i say do it before it's too late. Damage to your blood vessels is irreversible.

@@zardoz7900 Why wouldn't you? You're using another mammal as a testosterone supplement.
You are trading your longevity, for strength and vitality, right now.
All long-lived people eat a balance of seafood and mammal meat. Some also eat lots of vegs and grains, but even the Inuit eat 50% FISH!
You guys just wish that you were Neanderthals and that mammoths still existed. Homo Sapiens simply do not need that much meat!
Probably, because without cold weather, there was no way to preserve all of the meat from say, an elephant. So warm weather people evolved to need less of it, and thank goodness, fruits and vegetables were plentiful, most of the time.
Cereals, snakes and insects are for desert survival.

@@zardoz7900 Just think about eating a bit more fish and eggs, instead of meat, on occasion.

Ezekiel bread has vital wheat gluten in the ingredients but it is the last ingredient. It is used as a binder. The Ezekiel tortillas do not have the gluten added.

It still has 15 carbs,12 net carbs per slice. Can you say glucose spike. Bread is not essential to the body. The other two breads have 19g carbs. This is nothing more then polishing a turd.

It's the lesser of two evils, pick your poison. I a gym goer and a blue collar worker, i need carbs on a daily basis hence why i choose the lesser of two evils 8 to 9 times out of 10. If blood sugar levels are a problem for you, i suggest you take a couple of pure cinnamon tablets supplements. Since cinnamon naturally helps regulate the body's sugar levels, Apple cider vinegar "with the mother" also has a similar effect on the body and it's also available in capsule form. Just make sure you take the ACV about 10 to 5 minutes before a meal where as the cinnamon can be taken with or right after the meal.
