+Marcel Gabriel the camera can connect to Android and iOS devices via WiFi as shown in the video. You can see a 360 sphere view, but it looks small on your smartphones screen. The full resolution of the video is nearly 4k, but it only displays on your phone based on your phone's resolution. They delay from camera to phone is less than a half second.

INdividual video files can be edited in the Xiaomi MiJia 360 camera app on Android or iOS. But the sample videos I've uploaded here (ruclips.net/video/Yd3XWx-jgaE/видео.html) were edited and merged into one file using the v360 app on my smartphone. The app is really simple, but allows you to trip, cut and combine multiple 360 video files and then export them as a simple video.
Hello Nick, thanks for nice review! I just received the camera today and I realized that it is impossible to update firmware on it. Once I try to update it, it takes a while to upload the update files to the camera, then it says that it is updating, then the success message pops up but once the camera reboots and I connect to it, it says that the update failed. There is an option to retry but then it goes in circles. Did you maybe notice the same issue and found some fix for it? Thanks, Martin
+Martin Hlavacka souls like you have a defective unit of the update failed. My recommendation would be to do a hard reset and then try the firmware upgrade again. I received the update once I got the camera set up and had no issues at all getting it installed. Let me know how it turns out.

Replace 2D images and video? Not a chance. But there are fun and useful applications. It's nice that you don't engage in the hype I see from a lot of 360 channels.

I have always considered the VR180 format to be significantly more impressive thanks to the DEPTH of the image combined with the ability to look around. Even if you have VR headset, those 360 degree recordings will be just .. flat :-/. Come on XIAOMI, make something comparable (and cheaper of course) to Insta360 EVO and take my money! :-)

GearBest is selling it right now for $250, but that price is only available for the next week or so. I've seem it a bit lower on a few other importer sites, but you have to dig around to find them.
