      @@lovelivegofastI really hope so. My Allen wrenches are in one of those pop out sets. I may need something better with more leverage. I tried for 2 hours tonight. You give me hope. As for the servo. I saw that tonight and was like wtf is that. I may have violently pulled it from the stock pipe. Oops. Anyhow. Links are here and now I have hope and pipe comes tomorrow. Picked up my 24 zx6 last week. So excited. Dropping 2 inches. On that note, do I need to make any adjustments to the suspension after that drop?

    • @lovelivegofast
      @lovelivegofast  9 месяцев назад +1

      You won't need to adjust the suspension settings to maintain the same ride quality with lowering links, should feel the same. It will corner and handle different in the twisties though because it does slightly change the geometry of the bike. If you haven't had a chance to really throw it around you won't notice a difference 👍

It is VERY loud, if you don't mind the noise, keep it. I recommend trying out the muffler with decible killer that this guy has a link for, BEFORE spending $400

    geez...my 6MM bolt for the resonator chamber part came somewhat stripped by the factory! I have to call a friend over with mechanical wizardry to hopefully help me find a way to get it off. I got everything off just fine, even the 6mm bolt just below the tough one, so I know my hex size is right. What sort of monster put this thing together?!?!
    Edit: My friend used a hammer to bang the hex socket into that slightly stripped bolt and was able to get that monster off! Also prying that nut out of the metal housing on the back of Res Chamber was much harder on my bike than the video, I ended up having to Dremel saw it open enough to get that nut out! Everything else was exactly like the video, thank you very much for the help here!

    I have good news and i have some bad news, good news is i can confirm on a 2023 zx6r that keeping the servo plugged in does not throw any codes or prompt an engine light no servo buddy needed. Now for the bad news, that last bolt you had trouble with on the expansion chamber also is giving me one hell of a time, it snapped my allen key so now i have a tip of an allen wrench wedged in there so now I am stuck trying to get that thing out.

    I tried this and followed this to the T, even got the same materials, same fender eliminator from another video, etc.
    Once I got to the factory link pipe / muffler after removing the exhaust, I found an o2 sensor on it, mine has two sensors. One in the muffler, at the beginning, right after the catalytic converter, and another before the catalytic converter.
    Maybe it’s just an Europe thing?

    • @ddawson1976
      @ddawson1976 6 месяцев назад

      Just reading through the comments and came across your post. I recently received my Racefit Growler X exhaust and plan on installing it this weekend. My exhaust came with a spot for a 2nd O2 sensor. My 24' ZX-6R only has one. I spoke with the owner of Racefit (In the UK) and the Euro bikes DO have two O2 sensors. It must be a Euro thing. I have to have an O2 plug in my exhaust because the US models only have one O2 sensor.

    • @boscodomingo
      @boscodomingo 4 месяца назад

      It does have 2 O2 sensors for the Euro5+ rating. I guess it's a matter of drilling a hole in the new link pipe to put it in? I bet there's sensor deleters too

    It's been a while since you removed the stock exhaust. Just want to verify that you have NOT had any code issues by keeping the servo motor plugged in. I'd rather leave in the servo motor and save the money by not having to purchase a servo buddy.

    Is there a way to make bike loud by using the stock exhaust? i mean just remove servo cable and by default that butterfly valve is always on and remove the breadbox and put a linkpipe with stock exhaust.. will it work?..

    • @lovelivegofast
      @lovelivegofast  10 месяцев назад

      So I think you could do the link pipe to the stock muffler with the servo cables removed. But 90% of your sound dampening is in the muffler, so it will be a little more volume, but not much. The link pipe to delete the bread box is $65 and a no name mufflers is only $35 more. What is your reasoning in wanting to keep the factory muffler?

      @@lovelivegofast I saw a fellow versys rider do that... And it sounded great... Actually here at my place sometimes police would do special drives and if caught they would seize your bike with aftermarket exhaust .. then you have to pay fine upto 250$ if i convert to USD 😂

    • @lovelivegofast

      If you are keeping the resonator chamber you can put the short one on that, but the short one won't go straight on the header, you'll need the curly one if you remove the resonator box

    Im confused is your exhaust 2 pieces or 3? You have 3 links in the description.

    • @lovelivegofast
      @lovelivegofast  8 месяцев назад

      You only need two pieces. There's two different link pipes because one is to be used with the resonator expansion chamber and one deletes it

      With the link pipe being so short and having a firm mounting point on the frame, it's very solid without any sort of a hanger. Just the springs are good

      No exhaust light ever came on, was just riding more today and everything is perfect. I still have this muffler but I have since gotten a different Amazon muffler that has a removable decibel killer since I live around a bunch of old people and families, I work late nights right now. I just posted a video today of the muffler I currently have on it. Sounds the same but I can put that DB killer in the end and make it quite when I need too

    I think that the misconception that the expansion chamber is the cat comes from the fact that on the ZX10R it is the cat. Gutting the cat in the ZX6R header is a major PITA and is best done off the bike. You will need a flash/tune and even then it's not a substitute for an aftermarket header/full exhaust. Hindle makes a good full exhaust for those on a budget, don't waste your money on an Akra or SC or any of the poser exhausts, al they get you is bragging rights.

    there's no point in doing ANY exhaust work if you're not planning on getting the ECU flashed.. there is literally zero gain and all you did was make the bike louder. that being said, if you do get a FULL system (the only worthwhile exhaust upgrade) and have the ECU flashed to that system for max benefit, they can tune out the servo so you wouldn't need a servo buddy anyways. they'll also tune out the AIS/smog system and the o2 sensor so you'll be free of CELs and all the restrictions and their weight in extra parts..
    i dropped over 30lbs between the exhaust, lightweight antigravity battery, servo motor, passenger pegs, mirrors and rear signal/plate/undertail crap.

      There's plenty of perks to our exhaust job, great sound, dropped weight, looks a lot better. If you want to be wicked fast just get a liter bike

      @@lovelivegofast there's plenty of potential in these bikes and many dyno videos to prove it. while you're absolutely correct in everything said - it's a shortcut.
      in removing the servo motor completely, you're not only dropping weight, but making space too so you have at least some semblance of a trunk. my wallet and phone now fit.
      a proper tune makes the bike run better everywhere as well. you're option is a good *start and i appreciate the content.
