Dr. Alicia P. Magos is an anthropologist and a professor emerita of University of the Philippines Visayas. She had extensive and published works on the culture of Western Visayas especially on the Panay Bukidnon. She was a UNESCO International Literary Research Awardee and 1999 Metrobank Ten Outstanduing Teacher.

The Panay Bukidnon is the Pre-colonial Culture of Hispanized Ilonggo people, the Karay-as, Akeans, Hamtik. And still many of the fellow western Visayans laugh at it. The only Visayan Malayan Pre-colonial Culture left among in the Visayas. The remnants of the Kedatuan of Madja-as. We are lucky to have our pre colonial culture our identity western Visayans but others like Tagalog people gone theirs. We should appreciate and preserve this more than colonial culture.

Already doing my best to preserve and continue precolonial Bisayan culture. Had to inform my mother I do not plan to baptize my children and, instead, raise them to view the world as populated by the diwata and umalagad.

People of Kalinga also has pre colonial culture, spaniards never step a foot on that part of north central Luzon. they are scared of them because they were called head hunters, they will kill outsiders on the spot without communicating to them.

I remember this sound when we live in remote area in sitio tugop, igcocolo, Guimbal wherein nong biling make this sound during nightime. This culture we used to do during my pre -school age
