Houston, if your going to make the black one more original, make sure you have whoever will do the restoration, to remove those later model year side strakes. Those were on the 1988.5 Countach models just before they came out with the Anniversary editions. Early low body cars didn't have those but the lower rockers with strakes were able to be retrofitted to cars. Would look much better without them since it's an '84 MY car. 👍 Congrats on the barn finds.

Keep them stock bro, the white is the super model of the pair, it clearly show the lines, vents, details that are hidden on a black car. If you mod one make it the black as it is already no added features like the body kit, rear tail lights & etc. It has an 83/89 look going on. My vote is keep the stock and restore. 1 That white car is already heavily modified. The 5000S was originally a sidedraft carb car so that engine has been swapped hence the modded engine cover for carb clearance since it is not a downdraft car. 2 The black one is a 2 valve injected car made while trying to figure how to meet DOT requirements, emissions and bumpers. The lower side strakes should be removed. These look like counts customs ex cars. Nice save if you tackle restoring them back to original/highest value. Good luck

Watching this, it really struck me just how much all-black suits the Countach. It just complements the aggressive shape so well - as you say, it has that sinister look. I like the idea of modernising the white one - say by upgrading to the current Lambo V12, upgrading the brakes, etc. I like the idea of an updated Countach, but done with authenticity - unlike the 'new' Countach that Lambo recently released, that seemed to be just an attempt by VW-Audi to make a lot of cash by re-bodying an Aventador, without making any real effort to bring the 'old' Countach back to life.

    • @deancleaver1185
      @deancleaver1185 2 года назад +1

Not a specialist but those look like US spec "bumpers" that were applied to the later models (compare them to say an Anniversary Countach and you'll see what I mean). I am uncertain if they were stock on 84 cars (that one is a genuine US new vehicle, converted to Fuel Injection in the US to meet regulations) but certainly they were on the later models. That's why the lights appear recessed.

OMG Houston i felt the same way. Im an italian shoe and jordan sneaker head and i watched the Hagerty foundation movie as well and i was so dialed in to buy the countach as well and get that one of a kind front spoiler on the front bumper with the 2 lights. I wish it was black but whatever itsthe coolest car in the world by experience and history it wss part of. Good Luck Houston bc i know you will undoubtedly get it done. Im in Scottsdale and i wish there was a way to help out as i feel my views and goals are similar to yours!!!

I think the best option for you would to be to keep the white one completely original because of it’s rarity and high resale valve, but you should go crazy on the black one like murder out the windows and put a modern V12, etc.
    Thanks for reading

I’d change the white ones side skirts and just have the minimal skirts that wrap under the car. Also the skirts on the black one seem non standard too but maybe Lambo anniversary style?

Both of these cars have been modified. Neither should have the side skirts and the white one has a different engine cover. White also has after market exhaust and embroidered seats which I don't believe were stock. And of course the fuel injection which needs to be tossed. My experience with a Countach is a 1985 carb model black on black.

Matte Silver wrap with gloss black wheels. Then throw an LS supercharged motor in there!

The white would look good on some deep dish BBS mesh’s with a front spoiler or some fog lights❄️💨

I think you should go wild that car, make it really special. Rebuilt the enigine, put a Fi-Exhaust on it new wheels. Finish it with a 1of 1 custom wrap. Make it look more exotic, that it is already.
You'll definetily crush everybody with it, at SEMA 2022

Imagine swapping the motor with a modern Lamborghini V12 and adding a twin turbo kit on a old contague😂😂 That would be so epic

Put them bothe back to original and keep the one you like more. Sell the other and use that for a crazy build starting with one less pristine since it'll be painted anyways.

    Matey I applude you!!! 👍👍👍
Makes sense doing the white car, the black is already 1000% baller.
V12 drift attack style with larger style similar alloys but split rim... Wrap it in a custom layered tron / camo style. And I would leave the interior but just modernise it..... Or if brave a diablo style sloped dash.

With all these you tubers getting these I’d love to see one with a beast engine. They were fast for their time but in todays standards they’re slow. A sleeper 80’s lambo would be so epic

Those are beautiful! I'm living vicariously through Huston! Contach's were my favorites growing up in the 80's! Nice find!

You could always mod it in such a way that it could be returned to stock if so desired. I never really liked the White on white either ,but that Black one all murdered out looks Great! Wrap the white one and change the wheel color, but not sure if I would do too much to the mechanical parts except get them running 100%. The Black one should def. be kept just like it is. That guy that owns Curated in FL is probably pissed he didn't find these or get them.

A V12 manual from a Murci, upgraded suspension & breaks, with a fully modernized, usable interior would be an awesome project... Don't know if it's realistic or feasible, but you can't blame someone for dreaming ;)
