I just bought the 2014 PS3 as a beginner guitar player looking to learn. I looked up the plus subscription and it blows my mind how they think a new player is going to pay $140/yr. Then I looked up the playlist and this review is spot on! The list just sucks. No way I'm going to pay that much money now.

It's clear that Ubi corporate stripped this game down to it's basics and just shipped it. I love the people on the RS team, but Ubi has done everything they can do at this point to kill this game. And it makes me so sad.
@@pigboydigger it still is and it's so expensive, always online VPN needed to play specific songs. It's still missing so many features from RS14. RS+ is a con in it's current state.
Great video! You mentioned all the reasons why I won't be playing RS+. I still play RS2014 and purchased a ton of DLCs from Ubisoft. I was lucky enough to buy RS2011 and imported a lot of songs to RS2014 before they took it down. What kills me is the fact they shut down RS2011 and they're currently delisting DLCs instead of renewing the license. They removed a lot DLC songs that I was willing to buy. They could have just released RS2022 for $60 with upgraded visuals, keep the same features, allowed us to transfer songs from RS2014+RS2011 and keep the cycle going with new songs. They just didn't want to renew the license.
no working progress bar at the top and pay for life and after death for you got to unsubscribe model with inflationary trajectory.......who wants another sub???
I got a guitar and RS2014 for Christmas this year. Booting RS2014 up for the first time it said that a bunch of songs were being retired in the new year. I was already sad that I had apparently missed a bunch of Rush songs, one of my favorite bands and one I was very much looking forward to. Then it said Space Oddity, Barracuda, Don't Fear the Reaper were disappearing 1/17/23... I immediately ran to get the DLC and was very confused. Why had they taken them off the storefront a full month before the date they show on the launch screen? Unfortunately they have the date wrong. It clearly shows in game to be 2023 but I had missed those by a full year. Especially disappointing to me since Don't Fear the Reaper was one song I was teaching myself before I had to give up the hobby almost a decade ago.
I played guitar for years before the original Rocksmith was released. I use the game as a way to learn how to play new songs. I was excited to have the subscription, with an ever expanding library of songs! I was no stranger to CDLC with 2014, but I figured that, with such a high sub price, that it would be worth it. I booted the game up on the first day after buying a year subscription. Latency was terrible, and I couldn't find out to adjust it. The library was a joke, and they still haven't added anything remotely interesting (and after they added nothing but the Wiggles at one point, I've sorta given up.) I have gone back and played nothing but 2014 since. I regret giving them my money for this.
@@dennox1Yea, a year later and this review is still spot on. I went to purchase a subscription and it's now $140/yr and the playlist still sucks. I couldn't find any of my favorite music. Most of which he mentioned.
Spot on video. Ubi just added a bunch of songs I don't have any desire to play, and I gave up and cancelled. Having rights to a band's catalog is useless if they only release deep cuts and live tracks. And I agree: Chord charts are TERRIBLE.
I have been gaming forever (old man at 43). I've played arcade, computers, consoles, hand held etc. I owned rocksmith, rocksmith 2014 and spent hundreds on DLC. I have never been more disappointed at a game release EVER! As a music educator and a gamer, I feel we've been massively ignored and let down and I really hope we get an alternative solution that ubisoft has nothing to do with (like clone hero).
I have well over 1000 hours in Rocksmith 2014 and it made me love to play guitar and so Ubisoft has earned my loyalty for 1 year. I also agree that the developers did a pretty great job. The management team, the marketing team, the strategy team, the licensing team etc - they have almost destroyed the Rocksmith brand and may still sink it. I hope they fix this but after the first week I've gone back to 2014 and only check + once a week to see if anything changed. When the Sponge Bob Squarepants theme is consistently one of the top songs in the world almost 2 months after launch you know you did a bad job. What I can't believe is that there are people still defending this song list
The pricing is absolute insane even today with new updates. They had to take 2014 off the market to get some people to buy their subscription service. I played 2014 on my xbox for nearly a decade and recently got a gaming pc. I was devasted to see that instead of being able to spend 40$ and use the custom forge I would have had to buy a key that might not even work for over 120$. Yet even with the price I still bought it instead of going with +. Also arpeggios are easier to read in 2014.
It's so unfortunate the best guitar learning software ever made is also part of the dying cancerous pure greed driven zombified husk that is the AAA videogame industry. I PRAY that somehow the Rocksmith team can buy the rights and get the fuck away from these crooks at Ubishit. The fact they trashed session mode, tone design, score attack, and guitarcade is grotesque.
They did add lyrics and things later but still. I just played Rocksmith+ for the first time in March 2023 after having previously played Rocksmith 2014 and it seems like they did add some much-needed features later.
I just subscribed for a month to try it out , and you are damn right, most disappointing thing for me it's the tracklist ,they gotta add all the artists you mentioned for real
I would have more harsh words than you. As a 2014 lover, I was so excited for Rocksmith+, then it was released. What a shipwreck they made of a premier title and still refuse to admit it today.
As someone who has 950hrs+ on Rocksmith 2014 I completely agree but also want to say I wasn't really surprised Rocksmith+ is as bad as it is. Ubisoft has a clear history of infecting successful titles with their money-hungry methodology which eventually leads to a huge decline in everything we once cherished. I'm just thankful Rocksmith 2014 is still playable and the Rocksmith 2014 community is still strong and continuing onward. All the top Rocksmith streamers and players except for Riff Repeater are still uploading Rocksmith 2014 playthroughs instead of Rocksmith +
I'm ordering a new Real Tone Cable for 2014. My issue in the past was the $80 price tag and the short life of the cable. It's down to $25 now. A major point of contention for me has been eliminated. After years of not playing 2014, I'll be back at it.
I am very sorry for developers who worked on this game. I can only imagine the pressure of all the stupid decisions coming from product owners or publishers pushing them to do the bare piss poor minimum and ship such attrocity. Sadge.
I still remember when release day hit and I just sat at the search bar, looking up every band I like, only to find literally zero of them (besides some Boston). Cancelled the sub that very day. And those were all Bands that RS2014 had as DLC or from the start. When they announced that Plus would have much more music that isn't English, I had high hopes for lots of Japanese rock, which is by far the most fun to play thanks to crazy guitar runs and chords in almost every song (imo). But pretty much nothing in that category as well.
Excellent video going over this. I just tried Rocksmith 2014 for the first time at a friends' place, and seeing 2014 go away on the 23rd is putting me in a do-or-die purchasing decision.
I can't argue with any of your analysis. You nailed it. I've made the time investment to learn to produce my own CDLC using other online instruction sources, but I'd rather just shup up and play the hits. Hopefully, Rocksmith+ will eventually allow me to do that. They get one year to improve. After the first two months of song releases, I am not optimistic of their chances.
If you are into more modern punk / pop punk/ and metal the library is absolutely barren except for a few artists of which they do not have their popular songs. Rocksmith 2014 has a much better library
The biggest downside for any person who's gonna buy RS2014 just now is that Ubi continuously removes DLCs from the store. Many have already been removed, and the process goes on. I guess you can still have them if you bought them in the past, but they are not available for purchase anymore. Of course, there's always CustomsForge, bless them, but they are not allowing officially released tracks, even if they were removed later (as far as I know, The Sunshine of Your Love is the only exclusion to this rule so far).
Once the license they have to add that song to DLC expires, they don't renew it and just take it out. I agree, CustomsForge should allow the community to fill in the gap once that happens.
They also need to change the news on the opening screen. I just got RS2014 and a guitar for Christmas and it says that Space Oddity, Barracuda, and Don't Fear the Reaper leave the shop February of 2023 and I spent far too long looking for those songs before figuring out they meant February 2022. I am gutted that I cant get those and a bunch of Rush songs.
@@Deladus When you purchased a DLC, you are allowed to play it as long as RS2014 works, and not as long as they have the license, because at the time of your purchase, you have not been informed that they may revoke your right to play the song anytime. The songs are on your PC and UBISOFT is pirating /hacking you PC, your private datas. Ultimately it will leave RS2014 as an empty shell with no songs to play... just to force you into RS+
@@tomsawyer2112 Except I had not purchased the DLC for those songs. When I went to purchase them they were not there. Unless I am missing something you should still have access if you purchased it.
@@DeladusI thought they were downloaded to your hard drive. I'm using PS3 and they get stored there as far as I know. They can't delete content from there even if the license is expired.
21:51 I am just now exploring starting this journey of learning. There is really only one thing Ubisoft could have done to turn me away immediately, and it's this right here (I may have put up with the other issues if the song list were stellar). Rock of the 70s and 80s is why I care to learn in the first place. Lacking the bands listed means all the other issues aren't worth dealing with.
This review was well done. I love the honesty even though you didn't mention that horrible horrible lag you are very kind. I have been playing rocksmith since the very first game and I have the First 2 games that they came out with my trust in UBI soft stopped me from getting RS plus. Glad I did.
I just bought the RS+ 3 month subscription ($32 after Black Friday discount.) I've been playing guitar for many years, but I developed a lot of bad habits & often find myself in ruts where I plateau my techniques, patterns & tempo. I've been considering taking guitar lessons & going back to the basics to correct my bad habits & re-calibrate myself into a cleaner, more efficient player. I started playing a Katatonia song & it felt SUPER awkward, like I'd never played guitar before. But I chalked it up to the fact that I had not familiarized myself with the overall concept of playing along to guitar software So I decided to check out the lessons, and that's where I found myself impressed. The practice sessions, the practice tools & the whole gamification of learning techniques is amazing. I think there's a lot of potential here, so HOPEFULLY they develop this thing into something bigger than original RS. I figure I paid about $30 for a 90 day subscription, which isn't horrible. At the end of that 90 days, if it sucks or I got what I needed out of it, then cool, I just paid $30 for 3 months of guitar lessons & if I want to keep playing RS, I can buy RS14.
I hate the fact that people like The Riff Repeater are paid by Ubisoft to be pure positive towards the game. It only makes the game look even worse if you have to bribe people to make your game look good
Dude!! Make more videos!! Great quality and sound!!! Like compared to any of the really big guys, like almost 10/10!!! You did really good on all the info and sounded like you cared for all those who you are intending to inform! Have a merry Christmas!!
Unfortunately, I was baited by Rocksmith+ before actually playing it and I bought the year's worth of subscription for $99.00 dollars. After playing the game and being able to browse the abysmal library available, I contacted customer service for a refund who told me that company policy says no refunds. Ubisoft is a cancer and as much as I love Rocksmith, it will never flourish under them. Months after release, the song list is still horrible. What a dissapointment.
Ubisoft: hey guys we are making a new rocksmith game, we greatly value our community base and would love to hear your input about to make the new rocksmith game better. Rocksmith community: Oh thats great news! we really love rocksmith, we want more of the same, but go ahead and make these improvements and your new game will be an instant hit. we all want this, we will all buy the new game if you do these things. Improved latency. Improved sound engine for nicer guitar and bass tones. allow us to connect our guitars using any ASIO audio interface eg Focusright scarlet or any pro mixer. AC DC. METALLICA. Make the jam session band change keys and do other interesting things like breakdowns, rythmic shifts, change from distortion to clean etc, make it feel more like jamming with a real band. Standard musical notation, it would be nice to include that and to create a learning path that teaches us to read sheet music. Include classical guitar music, that will instanty bring in a whole new customer base to join in. Spanish/Flaminco guitar would also be nice. Since the DLC library is becoming huge, it would be nice to have an algorythm that recommends new songs for you to buy based on your musical tastes rather than having to just scan through it all. Song based function of Social hub that can connect and detect people with very high scores in songs and gives them a star in that song (they can expertly play it) with other players, so that they may answer questions and give tips about how to play it and how best to learn it. The people can rest assured that they are getting legit tips from someone who can actually play the song flawlessly etc. Ubisoft: Thank you all for your valuable input. Ok so then, you heard em! its a green light for subscription a service, now lets brainstorm about how we can implement loot boxes..
I too was excited when I saw the official release of the RS+ and saw all the Opeth songs, amongst a few other artists I can’t recall ATM, right out the gate. Instead of being smart and just subscribing for one month, I went ahead and bought a year’s subscription. Imagine my disappointment to learn that only one or two of the Opeth songs had the proper charts and tab, and all the rest only had those AI generated chord charts. Same with most of the other artist I was interested in learning. My disappointment went even further when I realized the rock and metal selections were abysmal. Add to that it refusing to play nice with my interface 90% of the time. I do have a Real Tone cable, and it does work. But it requires me to disconnect my interface and plug my headphones straight into the computer. Sure, not a huge deal, but when I want to play RS, I don’t want to have to reconfigure my set up for a half hour worth of play. And the to kick it all off, when I looked into canceling and getting a refund, turns out there is a not refund policy in the US. Then they did a patch update for RS 2014 which broke the game and made it inaccessible with out loading a beta build.
You NAILED IT perfectly. I hate these monthly "Money Grab" subscription programs that you can NEVER own. UGH!!! I was so excited about Rocksmith working on a piano program but am cringing it's going to be in a subscription like almost ALL of piano learning software other than Synthesia.
Also what happened to the devs we use to love the ones who will Livestream to the community and interview people who where passionate about the game and the fact as there is now physical disc version so when they delete the song or game you completely lose it like when they lose copyright for the song they remove it from you
I thought Rocksmith+ was gonna be like Rocksmith 2014, but with more features added. As someone who has been using Rocksmith consistently since it came out, I was hoping for features like, note names instead of colors, incorporating music theory, even new instruments like drums, keyboards, saxophones, etc. Instead they removed all the songs I like to play and all the nostalgic arcade games etc, sooo... Back to Rocksmith 2014 like everyone else.
Used to play Rocksmith 2014, but most of the issues in this game were there already, it's best to just use it as an interface and shortcut to learn songs, then using your ear or warching live videos to learn the right way than learning with it's tabs, because a lot of them are badly charted or make things way harder than they need to be, specially on harder solos.
True true true... I lot of the positions are just uncomfortable (since the original 2011 game) E. G. On "R U mine? " it keeps telling you to jump on E string from 2nd fret to 10th fret... (for bass) When that 10th fret is the same as the D string open😂... And in other songs, even uf all you play is on 4 frets, the interface shows you like 14 frets, making the numbers /notes you will actually play tiny. But that has existed since the 2011 game and no one fixes it 😂. I rather have the "old" games and a few DLCs than I actually love.
I literally think they went for the cash, these tracks are laughable even compared to the core songs included in 2014. Also removing guitarcade, huge mistake. I annotated both on my beta survey.
Video is spot on. After Rocksmith 2014 was updated by Ubisoft in such a matter that it no longer works on my computer, I had to give Rocksmith+ a go in 2023. I was expecting most of the issues solved and the song library to be excellent. Boy was I let down! For a software to be called Rocksmith and the song library to not have any of the rock classics from the 1990’s (for example) is just mind boggling. Want to play Muse, Soundgarden, Deftones, Metallica, Bon Jovi? Nope, not happening as they are not included in the library. Want to play a song that has slap bass in it? Good luck trying to go through all of the unknown 9000 songs in trying to find one. Thank you for the review. I wish I would have found it before I made the purchase. Would have saved me a lot of money. I would like with a positive note though, the integration with ASIO sound cards is much better in Rocksmith+ so they did one thing so much better than before.
Amazing video. RS+ is disapointment for me cuz still not avalible for my country. They ads on Turkey Ubisoft Store, we joined closed beta we have R+ connect app in mobile store, R+ has Turkish songs but not avalible to play for us ;(
Awesome review! Rocksmith 2014 changed my life as well. The software helped me understand the techniques of playing guitar, learning songs, as well as having a rewarding hobby. I was already disappointed when I discovered that Rocksmith Plus requires a paid subscription. Rocksmith Plus definitely looks like a downgrade compared to Rocksmith 2014.
I was so excited to try this, two audio different audio interfaces that are confirmed working in other programs and machines don't work with it, the library is so cut down and actual improvements are not to be found.
Ubisoft have FAILED Massively, I have asked for support at least 4 times, and apart from a CRAP automatic email which did NOT answer any of my questions, they are simply ignoring me. They were happy to take my £85 subscription though, which I happily threw at them due to how much I loved Rocksmith 2014. However, being a Metal Head, and already able to play guitar, there was only 3 songs I actually enjoy playing all the rest are not at all of any interest to me whatsoever, and of the thousands of songs, 90% or more are rubbish strum-a-longs that No one that already plays guitar will want to Strum a long too. What happened to the "Millions of Songs" they said would be included, at the rate they are adding songs currently it will take a thousand years or more to hit a million songs. So straight away, that in itself is false advertisement. As you said yourself, Rocksmith 2014 was great, but sadly it appears it has now been patched and that too has stopped working for me now. I tried the tips in videos, but did not work for me. All in all, an utter shambles, and a complete waste of £85.
I downloaded the game and went straight to the song list just to see what all they had. No Nirvana, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Shinedown, Three Days Grace, System of a Down, Bullet For my Valentine, or Slaughter to Prevail. I instantly deleted it.
@RiffRepeater the only shinedown song I saw was a cover of simple man, and yes I just checked and I was mistaken about Disturbed I guess I mixed it up with another band I looked for, I apologize
Ubisoft is removing DLC for rocksmith 2014 so we better get them now while we still can. i heard pirated DLC works and is detected as cdlc so theres still a way to preserve the official dlc.
Thanks for the great review. I heard myself in a few of the examples from the 2014 game. I appreciate your effort. Saved me both money and time. The Wiggles line is classic. I remember when my boys were little and we would listen to them over and over.
i wish there were more feedback, id like to see animation bassed feedback so the string that im playing vibrate on the virtual guitar and something to represent the fret i was on.
One of the main issues with RS2014 is the lack of visual strum patterns, which can be pretty complex. Strum patterns is about the first things you learn in real guitar lessons with an acoustic guitar until they become automated, and allows you within a few month to strum many traditional songs at any social gathering. Which chord is strum up, which is strum down, is the first chord strum up or down? Seems RS+ doesn't care, and fails at the most basic teaching, just as RS2014 did. But the most disappointing is they don't have any Buckethead songs in their song list. With a lot of easy technically playable song, one of the most prolific guitar player in the world is ignored ?
A very good review. I was very excited when Rocksmith+ came out and bought a year's subscription right away. I cancelled it within a day and got my money back. Still playing RS 2014 every day instead. In my country, the songlist included Master of Puppets, but that was about the only song I wanted to play. Rest was pure garbage. And MoP is such a hard song to play for me, which made me lose interest very quickly. Plus, the difficulty increasments were really screwed up on that song. If I didn't have max difficulty on a section of the song, it basically was just one note that section. One promising thing i liked with Rocksmith+ though, was the warmup excersises. These things have endless potential to be speed excersises as well. But for some reason, they didn't go all the way. Speed exercises are among the best things they've could have added for intermediate players. Would have almost been enough for me to keep my subscription, even though the rest of the game was terrible.
Odds are if there is a mid tier song that you wanna play you can find it custom made online. Paying $100 a year to play the b sides of some college indie rock bands seems like a really stupid business plan… this program will die out in a couple years. I’m sure sales of Rocksmith 2014 are booming
I am older and have found success with you tube videos and Fender Play. If I had to learn guitar using Rocksmith Plus I would quit. It seems more like a video game than guitar instruction. To me the most impressive thing was how you tune your guitar with the app. For a beginner this part is excellent.
Wrll, 2015 has a setting so you have to hit the tight cords better. Mine is set middle, let's a few chords slide that the higher level will show I didn't hit the cords period. Screw +, I think I'll stay with 2014
I was excited to hear that a Rocksmith plus was released for console last week. I have dabbled with the 2014 version but found the way the notes were displayed was confusing after many years of playing with tabs. The first few reviews that I watched were all sponsored with people giving them glowing reviews so when I saw this video I knew I was going to get a honest opinion. Unfortunately everything that Ubisoft has touched within the last few years has been a money grab. They have single-handedly ruined just about every franchise that they had originally built up and are a shell of their former selves. Only concerned about microtransactions and pushing out half-baked products. That being said thanks a lot for the review I guess I will just redownload 2014 to scratch the itch
Tbh what put me off was knowing the licenses for RS1 and 2014 didn't go over to RS+ and the system wouldn't let me see what songs were in the game. I also observe that 2014 DLC hasn't went on sales for months.
I hope they here the community feedbacks, especially because Rocksmith+ could be one of the most efficient ways of learning guitar and motivate players because the fact that you learn guitar by playing a game is interesting enough to notivate anyone
You just made what was an at a glance my own personal judgement on my end to RS+ more of a clarification without having play either version I'm someone who is actively been trying to learn guitar for years, RUclips hasn't helped and teachers are expensive but learning through a video game that seems way more enticing than the other options. I'm just going to pick up RS2014 and install some mods to play because if this is the quality that Ubisoft decided to ship out then shame on them.
With a lack of features and steps back like not being able to mess with tones is a huge miss step. The game should have given us unlimited tones, foot pedal support, and 7 string support or 6 string bass support. Instead this game seems like a way for ubi to nickel and dime the audience with a subscription fee.
I paid for a month subscription a while ago and Immediately canceled after opening the library. A complete joke with not a lot of variety or popular songs, I played one song and deleted the game.
I just don't understand the logic of having released this in this state. You never get a second chance to make a first impression and few games go on to be given a second chance at all. This may be a little different as it's not a game... not completely, but I'm afraid of the scenario that they're shot themselves in the foot, will never be able to recover from that, and Rocksmith as a franchise may be doomed because of it.
hunch and only hunch......economy is teetering and brink of huge recession.....pump and dump tactic.......anyone have layoff stats at Ubi .....lyft, twitter, block and so many others have announced layoffs
Song list is still shite. I just bought 2014 for my PS3. Still able to purchase better songs directly off PSN but heard they're disappearing fast so get em while you can.
I have my issues with 2014, some of which are fixed in RS+, but as long as they're on this subscription app model I'll never stop using 2014. (of course, I wouldn't be shocked at this point if they cripple 2014 through updates just to make it useless)
I picked up Rocksmith + because my Rocksmith 2014 Remastered on Steam was sound like all sorts of trash. I thought I need to upgrade. I loved learning System, Killswitch, BFMV, Evanesance. No options for that and I feel its such a waste
Dude. That songlist. Up to that point i was thinking that yeah there is some issues. But when you kept blowing those bodyshots it actually hurt. How do they exclude all those bands from a game about rock? They are essential if they insist having rock in the name of the game.
I love the clash but it's not enough to keep me playing for more than about 20 minutes. It has all of what to do when you're dead by armor for sleep which is an awesome album. But it's in drop d and they don't have enough other drop d songs to make me justify retuning.
All hail Cherub Rock, the best Smashing Pumpkins song, for keeping 2014 supported.

I’m here 1year after your post and the library still isn’t much better and yes the wiggles wtf. Talk about acting putting people off.
What I can't believe is that there are people still defending this song list
i would be embarrased to show anyone plus or tell anyone i play plus...i will rave forever on how RS changed my life for the positive
It;s 1 year later. What are your thoughts?
As A Person Coming From Rocksmith 2014 , your review of this product is spot on.
Paid Subscription services are only good for the service providers. I don't have any paid subscriptions, and never will.
Best UI and climate was on first Rocksmith from 2012 and i prefer that version than 2014,and has like "plot" and missing that in 2014.
Glad I did.
I just bought the RS+ 3 month subscription ($32 after Black Friday discount.)
I've been playing guitar for many years, but I developed a lot of bad habits & often find myself in ruts where I plateau my techniques, patterns & tempo.
I've been considering taking guitar lessons & going back to the basics to correct my bad habits & re-calibrate myself into a cleaner, more efficient player.
I started playing a Katatonia song & it felt SUPER awkward, like I'd never played guitar before. But I chalked it up to the fact that I had not familiarized myself with the overall concept of playing along to guitar software
So I decided to check out the lessons, and that's where I found myself impressed.
How's it going?
I hate the fact that people like The Riff Repeater are paid by Ubisoft to be pure positive towards the game. It only makes the game look even worse if you have to bribe people to make your game look good
Dude!! Make more videos!! Great quality and sound!!! Like compared to any of the really big guys, like almost 10/10!!! You did really good on all the info and sounded like you cared for all those who you are intending to inform! Have a merry Christmas!!
Now that's a quality review, hats off, sir.
I fucked up and just bought the 100 bucks one a few days ago lmao, damn I regret it.
@@Pancakes1121How are you guys coping a year later? I just looked and it's still pretty bad. Did you renew? lol
Ubisoft:
hey guys we are making a new rocksmith game, we greatly value our community base and would love to hear your input about to make the new rocksmith game better.
Rocksmith community:
Oh thats great news! we really love rocksmith, we want more of the same, but go ahead and make these improvements and your new game will be an instant hit. we all want this, we will all buy the new game if you do these things.
Kind of sad Ubisoft went from Rayman legends to...well... this.
An incomplete disappointment makes it sound like its so disappointing that you werent even fully disappointed
Then they did a patch update for RS 2014 which broke the game and made it inaccessible with out loading a beta build.
yeah for win 10 and up
The game launched with a ton of Katatonia songs in the library: yayyyyyy. Only one song had an actual chart: booooo.
You NAILED IT perfectly. I hate these monthly "Money Grab" subscription programs that you can NEVER own. UGH!!! I was so excited about Rocksmith working on a piano program but am cringing it's going to be in a subscription like almost ALL of piano learning software other than Synthesia.
Spot on review.
@MightyNifty has the game gotten any better in the last year?
Perfectly said. I only check R+ every so often to see if theres an update. Going to play 2014 until R+ is fixed or until I dont need either any more.
Thank you for this video! It reminded me to cancel that bullshit before they charge me for another 3 months of disappointment
I still dream of rocksmith with a guitar hero style arcade mode it's so easy to do you already have the tool ready.
"The Overwatch 2 Effect"
Almost missed that Knack joke. Well played.
Not to mention Dan Amrich white knighting the shiiit outta this game on all kinds of social media
If they would offer a full guitar education (including how to read and write music) i would subscribe.
I lot of the positions are just uncomfortable (since the original 2011 game)
E. G. On "R U mine? " it keeps telling you to jump on E string from 2nd fret to 10th fret... (for bass)
When that 10th fret is the same as the D string open😂...
And in other songs, even uf all you play is on 4 frets, the interface shows you like 14 frets, making the numbers /notes you will actually play tiny.
But that has existed since the 2011 game and no one fixes it 😂. I rather have the "old" games and a few DLCs than I actually love.
21:13 best part, worst aspect
Basically, they turned a great guitar edutainment title into a live service game.
Subscription fees are now $20 a month. Insane to pay up to $240 a year to play a single game. GTFOH.
We need an update on your guitar skills !!
I literally think they went for the cash, these tracks are laughable even compared to the core songs included in 2014. Also removing guitarcade, huge mistake. I annotated both on my beta survey.
For a Fool is a great on disc song on 2014
How could they screw this up so badly? Madness!
They ads on Turkey Ubisoft Store, we joined closed beta we have R+ connect app in mobile store, R+ has Turkish songs but not avalible to play for us ;(
Hope things improve for you guys!
There actually is Shinedown and Disturbed
@RiffRepeater the only shinedown song I saw was a cover of simple man, and yes I just checked and I was mistaken about Disturbed I guess I mixed it up with another band I looked for, I apologize
Ubisoft is removing DLC for rocksmith 2014 so we better get them now while we still can. i heard pirated DLC works and is detected as cdlc so theres still a way to preserve the official dlc.
Yeah I got a pirated version or Rocksmith 2014 that can read CDLC and DLC with no problem
Thanks for the great review. I heard myself in a few of the examples from the 2014 game. I appreciate your effort. Saved me both money and time. The Wiggles line is classic. I remember when my boys were little and we would listen to them over and over.
Great video, i just wish rocksmith 2014 actually worked on steam for me cause it just never boots up for some reason
Thanks for the review! I'll spend my money on some DLC to Rocksmith 2014 instead, especially since I mainly play rock and metal songs...
Thanx for the content, I'm sticking with rs2014.
not modding the game is not a nitpick. in 2014 you can transform literally every tab you have in a custom dlc. that makes a huge difference
Great and comprehensive, thank you!
The subscription model is just abismal
i wish there were more feedback, id like to see animation bassed feedback so the string that im playing vibrate on the virtual guitar and something to represent the fret i was on.
Was looking forward to this as it has tab. However the lack of any bands as you listed means I will not sign up to this service at all.
One of the main issues with RS2014 is the lack of visual strum patterns, which can be pretty complex.
Strum patterns is about the first things you learn in real guitar lessons with an acoustic guitar until they become automated,
and allows you within a few month to strum many traditional songs at any social gathering.
Screw +, I think I'll stay with 2014
Well put and not unfair. Couldn't agree more.
I'm just going to pick up RS2014 and install some mods to play because if this is the quality that Ubisoft decided to ship out then shame on them.
rocksmith+ positive: oreskaband
negatives: everything else
With a lack of features and steps back like not being able to mess with tones is a huge miss step. The game should have given us unlimited tones, foot pedal support, and 7 string support or 6 string bass support. Instead this game seems like a way for ubi to nickel and dime the audience with a subscription fee.
I paid for a month subscription a while ago and Immediately canceled after opening the library. A complete joke with not a lot of variety or popular songs, I played one song and deleted the game.
This video explains exactly how I feel 😢
What the fuck Ubisoft !!!
Aside: Rocksmith+, being what it is and isn't, now apparently includes piano, which sounds nice.
Nice "The Knack" Knack II reference. Dunkey would be proud.
And how it is nowadays, after 1 year?
I'm thinking to purchase the cable and the game...
Same question
Song list is still shite. I just bought 2014 for my PS3. Still able to purchase better songs directly off PSN but heard they're disappearing fast so get em while you can.
End of an era... it will always be 2014 in my mind. Long live Sabaka.
I have my issues with 2014, some of which are fixed in RS+, but as long as they're on this subscription app model I'll never stop using 2014. (of course, I wouldn't be shocked at this point if they cripple 2014 through updates just to make it useless)
The Clash: a 106 Songs ! But lead just 16, rhythm 6, bad chard charts 105.... and i bet it differs depending on the region your on .....
thank god they recently added Jack White. We finally have a notable classic like 7 nation army
what? Ubisoft treating their ip's like shit? unheard of.
Could you make a ASIO guide for rocksmith 2014 and compare it to rocksmith+?
Could you also make a showcase for rocksmith 2014 QoL mods?
I picked up Rocksmith + because my Rocksmith 2014 Remastered on Steam was sound like all sorts of trash. I thought I need to upgrade. I loved learning System, Killswitch, BFMV, Evanesance. No options for that and I feel its such a waste
Im here from the future to say they still are dropping the ball on rs+.
This is an excellent video highlighting the real issues with Rocksmith+. What a waste of a great concept.
