    This is a stitch that I wanted you to show me when I asked. It was a stitch my Mom made a blanket out of. I figured it out and was able to make this stitch.
    Mom made blankets with two colors green on one side and white on the other. Amazing afghans.
    Glad you're teaching the stitch now.

    • @belvarhoades5732
      @belvarhoades5732 5 месяцев назад

      @@marie-reineyelle7086 Follow her tutorial.
      Do your chain round. Then do your double crochet row. Then the next row change your color in this row till the end. My Mom cut yarn in every row.
      I just dropped the yarn and started with the next color.
      It's pretty easy.
      Once you get your 3rd or 4th rows it gets easier.
      It makes for a heavy duty Afghan.

    This is fantastic!! I always keep a little ball of leftover yarn next to me when I watch your videos so I can crochet along with your tutorials (I frog it afterwards, so it's ready for the next one,lol). I have a book of crochet stitches and I could never figure this one out from the pictures, but with Crystal showing every detail, I can do it now!! The first row of the stitch is a little figgety, but by the 3rd row I had it down... for me, it's actually easier to hold it as I would normally (not "vertical") and just go down into the necessary stitches (but again, that's just ME). I absolutely love this and think it will be great for winter blankets, scarves and lapghans. Thank you so much, Crystal!! ❤

    I made my sister a hot pad to put her long baking tray on. I used the single crochet thermal stitch for it. I never got around to making one for myself because it took so darn long to make and I wasn't going to put my fingers through that again (the cotton felt like barb wire after a few rows 😂) Looks like I'll get one now because the DC thermal will go a lot quicker.

    Concerning that last row (hiding the ridge): What I find is going by Crystal's method, it makes the top row just plain double crochet and you can tell it's "different". So I'm trying to come up with ways to "fix" that. The best I have found is IF I'm going to be making a blanket, I do that last row like Crystal did (using both front and back loops), but I do it with SINGLE crochet instead of double... then just continue all the way around with single crochet. That serves as the foundation for my border. OR, if I know my border is going to be double crochet, I do NOT work into both loops on that last row - I just do it as I've done all the others, and when I start my border, that's when I will pick up both loops of that last row. Hope this makes sense! [EDIT: Another option is just doing that last row by slip-stitching across it - picking up all 3 loops as Crystal showed, but using a somewhat loose slip stitch all the way across.]
