I fell in love with willow when I heard the album “the 1st” and realized how meaningful the lyrics were. She has the soul of a philosopher, a spiritual seeker, someone who’s truly devoted to find meaning in this deep ocean we call life. And to put that in her music is a big act of courage and truthfulness in a world that is becoming more and more artificial and vain. As a Brazilian, I hope to watch your concert somewhere here in the near future. I love you.❤ thank you for your art ❤
Willow has blossomed artistically and she is creating something beautiful and for the soul. She is not just making empty noise, her lyrics here are meaningful and with the instrumentation and her voice, melodies she is able to create a mood.
“find the one who understands why we wait for pain to change us” This line hits so close to home, especially now. People crave the pain that brings communities together. People crave sympathy, not empathy. Yet, once we fall into a state of depression, our minds are warped. We asked the world to cry for our pains, yet the only ones left crying is ourselves. Willow, this song is pure artistry. It transcends the limit of modern pop, and it’s a joy to dissect your fruitful lyrics ❤
Even in exercise, the way you build muscle is to literally break the muscle fibers and wait for them to repair. It is the repair that makes them strong.
Let's face it, Rock as in really Rock music wasn't for her, she didn't like the fans and the fans didn't like her, so it's great that she's doing what's her real self, pop music.
The song is composed very well. The composers of the song are Brad Oberhofer (piano), Asher Bank (drums), Willow Smith, and Chris Greatti for anyone wondering. Edited to add Greatti thanks to @AJM11011
I like how she's diving head first instead of dipping a toe in to gauge her listeners' reception. Willow is committed to refining her sound regardless of the direction it takes her.

Its like Willow is taking directions and cues from the universe instead of social trends. This young lady must have tapped into something mystical, spiritual, and unseen. I'm here for it.

This definitely builds off of the explosive rock-sonic musicality she conjured up in her album . She really hit it out of the park with this single and has set me up with anticipation for her coming album (if there is one, as I've not seen an announcement myself, yet.) The jazz inspired riffs, the patient percussive rhythms, her heavenly, resonant vocals, and the pacing/timing of this track is a joy to behold. I almost cried hearing this for the first time, it’s been a really long time since I’ve heard something unique and different, it’s been a while, lately I’m just rediscovering old music because i feel like nothing new is as good, but this, this restored my passion towards music again, u talking about feasting your eyes, while I’m feasting my ears and mind with this, u probably ain’t reading this, but, thanks Willow
Check out Jacob Collier. You might like his music.
Next check out the newer stuff from Knower and Louis Cole. Mindblowing songs.
@@lilachavez1173I LOVE HIM AND THAT SONG “Feel” OMG
Omg sameeeeee😫😫💕
My arrangements may not be as good as Willow's but I just released an EP under my name that I think you would like. I am accidentally creating a new genre and if you're looking for something unique I think you will find it in my music. It's under "Izzy Savides"
I never ever thought i would like a Willow song., but this is seriously some transcendent music. This song is amazing 💗💗💗
Well said. 🤌🏾
There it is, I couldn't have said it better ! You are right .
Willow has blossomed artistically and she is creating something beautiful and for the soul. She is not just making empty noise, her lyrics here are meaningful and with the instrumentation and her voice, melodies she is able to create a mood.
She literally just laid there and it was incredible.
we can thank the director for that aspect. and her mama nem who made her so gorgeous.
title of your sextape!
i mean... she's one of my biggest celebrity crushes... she's got that nala energy all over
Relatable tune
“find the one who understands
why we wait for pain to change us”
This line hits so close to home, especially now.
I am so happy to hear her blend all her influences. Rock, folk, alternative, and soul.🤌🏾💅🏾❤️
It's so beautiful
There's some Kate Bush sounds in there to me
R&B as well
Some of the runs, yes Ma’am ❤
A mixture of just great music.
Edited to add Greatti thanks to @AJM11011
thank you so much for that! I was wondering!👏👏👏👏🌞
Sounds like an Incubus song.
@@bluecafe509 I can hear it. Thanks for the reminder to get back into Incubus! 😎
how're you forgetting the main man chris greatti
@@AJM11011 my bad! Fixed
She really is growing into her sound, and I'm here for every new chapter.
I like how she's diving head first instead of dipping a toe in to gauge her listeners' reception. Willow is committed to refining her sound regardless of the direction it takes her.
Her versatility is absolutely amazing! She's soo blessed with talent.
I had no idea how talented she is. WOW.
Willow is a breath of fresh air. She's unlike any artist out there. Love her voice and songs. ❤
I love how she is just in her own lane. No forced agendas just straight from her heart and w.e she is feeling. Willow keep doing your thing a true artist
This is pure joy to my 67yr old ears 🎶 I love the jazz influence, took me back to the 70s! My generation grew up with AMAZING artists nd Willow can definitely hold her position, always evolving yet stayn true to her art her gifts, obviously she has a great team of musicians nd producers nd I'm here for all the magic! TY 💜
The vocals, the beat in 7, the chord progression the melody, everthing is so heart touching and perfekt done ....incredible
The only incredible thing here is Auto Tune.

Wow, a star WILLOW with her own unique style.
We hanged our harps Upon the willows in the midst thereof. Psalm 137:2
He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree. Ezekiel 17:5
this entire arrangement, so dynamic, so beautiful, THIS WILL BE HER BEST PROJECT FOR SURE.
This has a 90's alternative touch to it
Like a baby Bjork vibe
Yeah also some Tori Amos
Yes. Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, and hints of Bjork.
Yall just be saying anything 😂
She's got it all in there. Vocal melody start off like Tove Lo 'Bitches', a few Janelle Monae flourishes, Bjork, Bush, lol. #lovely
This is refreshing in comparison to what's become of the industry. This girl refreshingly has her own style. She is a rare musical flower. Be excited about her future projects. She has a classic sound. This is good music, the kind that made you search for an album after one listen. Keep doing yo thing girl. Thank you for keeping it classy.
Did not think id arrive at a point in life where i wanna hear a 3way collab between willow, paramore and jill scott
I don’t know who paramore is but I could definitely get behind Willow and Jill Scott!
Well dang. The trio I didn't know I needed.
@@Creyole Pleaseee go listen to Paramore 😩😩😩😩 one of my fave bands back in the day
I was thinking this song gives Hayley Williams' Petals for Armor vibes lol
That would be amazing
She's always had a distinct style of her own 💕
Yessssss I’m ready for this genre of music and a Alt/ rock / indie black singer eraaaaa
I love the avant-garde nature of Willow’s Empathogen album. What a sensation ❤
Its like Willow is taking directions and cues from the universe instead of social trends. This young lady must have tapped into something mystical, spiritual, and unseen. I'm here for it.
She 'tapped' into many of the greats: BACH, Stravinsky, Ravel, Jerry Goldsmith, Hancock, Evans etc.,) I applaud her and her collaborators for listening to the "Masters".
Middle aged woman here, just discovered Willow. She is so fresh anb unexpected. Love this song so much!
Willow's sound is just a massive contrast to a vast majority of the industry and it's such a breath of fresh air. I can listen to her all day.
Icon
so unbelievably obsessed with this song omfg
I've been a metalhead for 30-35 years and as of recently I've become a bass teacher. So I've been listening to a lot more jazz and Hip-Hop lately.
I think I got to say she really knocked it out of the park on this one, great track.
This song has that etheral vibe. I'm in love with Willow's voice 😍
her voice is so freaking hypnotic now. its crazy
i AM OBSESSED WITH THIS WHOLE ALBUM LOVE IT
Thank you to whomever recorded the drummer & drum room. It's phenomenal.
LYRICS:
pushing and peeling myself out of my disguise
looking at you now i am wondering who am i
if i could try to take you back i couldn't define
feeling
absence of time
knowing
all is decided
there's nothing
here left to find
the story's all in my mind
pushing and peeling the layers
that cover my mind
looking into the shadow
now i notice the light
magic is real
when you see it inside
you decide
it's like a snake shedding skin
creating
life to begin and all you know has vanished again
transcending
virtue and sin
feast my eyes on lower things
while beauty is a symptom of life
gotta decide if i'm gonna see it
why
feast our eyes on lower things
when suffering is craving the light
gotta decide how we’re gonna heal it
why
feast my eyes on lower things
while beauty is a symptom of life
gotta decide if i'm gonna see it
why
feast our eyes on lower things
when suffering is craving the light
gotta decide how we’re gonna heal it
why
yeah
gotta decide how we’re gonna feel it
i am trying to find out
gotta know
that life is fragile
gotta know
but
gotta go
i stood in awe
inside a temple
of a god i didn't know
wanna go
find the one
who understands
why we wait for pain to change us
to let me know
that life is fragile
it's like a turtle in sand
making
way to the ocean
almost
meeting the end
because the
birds are in motion
feast my eyes on lower things
while beauty is a symptom of life
gotta decide if i'm gonna see it
why
feast our eyes on lower things
when suffering is craving the light
gotta decide how we’re gonna heal it
why
feast my eyes on lower things
while beauty is a symptom of life
gotta decide if i'm gonna see it
why
feast our eyes on lower things when suffering is craving the light
gotta decide how we’re gonna heal it
why
yeah
gotta decide how we’re gonna feel it
i am trying to find out
Thanks ❤ beautiful
Her sound is soooo unique yet still an amalgamation of a 1000 influences n that's why it ends up being so beautiful n rich n authentic
My face troughout the whole song: 😮
As a musician I've never ever felt like this for a song, this is such an unreal, golden piece of beauty
amazing use of 7/4, and i love the major chord in the main piano riff. this song is fantastic!!
OK.. Let's confess her singing is nice, her songs are "Special". She is absolutely an artist.
She is intensely powerful. I love her songs.
“Willow” is her own genre at this point.
THIS- is art. You can just feel the originality and artistry oozing through this song. It’s absolutely beautiful- one of the most beautiful songs/creations I’ve ever heard. We’re all lucky to say that we got to be around to experience Willow’s music. Man I would love to sit down and talk to her one day 😆✨🤍
Right. Computer. Midi. AutoTune. Not playing one single instrument live. This is real art. How creative. How much effort.
Yes!
Yes!!!
This definitely builds off of the explosive rock-sonic musicality she conjured up in her album .
She really hit it out of the park with this single and has set me up with anticipation for her coming album (if there is one, as I've not seen an announcement myself, yet.)
The jazz inspired riffs, the patient percussive rhythms, her heavenly, resonant vocals, and the pacing/timing of this track is a joy to behold.
Had me sitting there, wondering if I were truly listening to her, or if I were day-dreaming, LOL.
Ya, a classically trained musician!
I love this song and I love you Willow......I am a 63 year old man and I love your songs and your performances. Maybe I can see you perform live one day..... I live on South Carolina and a music geek ❤ and by the way....I listen to Wait a Minute all of the time......love it
I agree with Larry. I'm the same age group. I love Willow's energy in her songs. I love the complexity and soul and alternative blend. All ages love you and appreciate your amazing music. I also really appreciate your vocal style. I don't know which song I like more!
I can't get over it. This is not a pop song. This is like. REAL music.
hey now, pop is real music ;)

Art is subjective, but I feel like most Pop is too industrialized to be considered "good" and therefore not music to me. But again, it's all subjective

This song is like traveling the Universe....Willow has phenomenal talent
Willow is honestly one of the most interesting pop/pop rock/alt pop artists right now. Loving this so much!
Yess, I love the fact that she is kind of going into the Jazzy directions with the new music, but still keeping the pop rock influences.
Unique sound #SaveSoil 💚
We hanged our harps Upon the willows in the midst thereof. Psalm 137:2
He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree. Ezekiel 17:5
What I really love about this track is that it breaks thru all boxes meaning its next level....can't put this in a box....Love it....Total freedom. Those music catagories restrict a true artist. We need more like this that goes beyond every boundary and yet it is universal like its supposed to be......this is the future of music.....write on.......love & light
This song blows me away. She is a gift to this earth. Omg, love her!!! And the band of girls SHE gathered for her group. Omg, her band of girls kick ass, they are so freaking talented. Watch them play....they slay, whilst willow wistles like a powerful angel.
Her voice is SO unique, gives me goosebumps everytime, I love her tone so much
And now we have 7/4 from Willow. Love these chord progressions too. Keep on going!
This young lady is pure talent!!! I appreciate the fact that she leads with her talent and don't use tons of sex appeal.
