Wes in this present day looks like an everyday desk job guy as opposed to his Limp Bizkit persona, which makes him cool! :)
Yeah, he looks like he could be a high school teacher.
Thats crazy to see him look wholesome lol
He reminds me of Keith Flint. Such a smart, laid back, kind and friendly character and on stage BOOM firestarter
Wes really is a good guy
They both had this different persona they kinda switched to on demand
Wes Borland on stage: 👹👺
Wes Borland off stage: 🧔🏻♂️
😅
Very good. 😂
He drank a lot
It may seem like a minor detail, but I love that Wes addressed the girl who died at their concert by name. It goes to show it really affected them and wasn't just shrugged off as an inconvenience to the band.
The man clearly has a heart.
Like I needed to love him more.
They are human..just because they have fame doesn't mean they aren't just like us.
They all really care about her. It made them all not want to play music anymore.
@@freedomforall2924 absolutely. But it's very common for bands to fall into the "corporate mentality" and think about it as "a problem for the band" or "an inconvenient lawsuit".
I'm glad they don't see it that way.
@@miaferrari958 I love when interviews are a look into "the real" of people, and it makes me not like people when they try to play it safe.
Like you're literally the voice of millions and you got nothing to say?
Human response.
Wes looks like he's about to go to a PTA meeting and is nervous about what the teachers report will be.
gp sonar He's naked from the outside without a custom and a makeup.
+gp sonar And Fred here looks like that guy who randomly walks up to you at a backyard bonfire and starts talking about car parts
+Josh Morris +gp sonar Both your comments are amazing.
+Josh Morris omg im dying XD
this is hilarious
Fred Durst looks tired as shit ... Like it was just one of those day he didn't want to wake up!
I look like that after 1 Month drinking 24/7.
Aaron Peters
He doesn't really know why but he wants to justify RIPPING SCUZZ'S HEAD OFF.
Aaron Peters and you don't really know why but you want to justify.. rippin someones head off!!!!
+Balance Q8 it's just one of those days
You Tapped Out it’s all about the he say she say bullshit
Wes Borland is a master.... love the guy.... a master of the show and a great guitarist, one of the best..... Fred you are lucky to have him....
And Wes is lucky to have Fred.
Amen
@Josh Gaspar fuck yea homie.
I think limp bizkit brings out the best in Wes borland. All his solo albums failed
@@hari-xo2fmI guess it depends how you define “failure”. He’s a pretty successful musician/artisit. Just because 2 or more of his bands aren’t all massive like say Maynard is with Tool and a Pirfect Circle doesn’t mean they are a fail.
Wes blows me away. Such a cool and normal guy offstage and totally transformed onstage
Same with Fred. He's always cool on interviews.
I think he said he wanted to do something with artistry or graphics in college and lb ended up getting signed before that time and he didn't want that side of him to fade away, which is where the outfits come from. Pretty cool.
Wes is like a Nu-Metal super hero, lol. Judging by his stage costumes you'd never assume he'd look so fresh scrubbed in his street clothes.
Yes, indeed. Wes cleans up very well 😍.
Wes looks like Physics teacher
What I really remember is his those big creepy eyes with that costume at Woodstock 99.
i know ! looks like lawyer i had once, yea i broke some stuff, and they came and got it ! me
I love the jarring different looks he comes up with.
I'm glad Wes came back, he and Fred together being different make the band
Poor Fred. People often look down on him, and view him as this douchebag. What if you were a loner all of your life, and knew nothing of real socializing? Imagine how you would feel once you had hit international fame. He went crazy, because it was the first time in his life that he was accepted, and had followers. He took it a little far obviously; but come on, anyone in Fred's situation would have probably done the same. I know I would go crazy if I hit fame the way they did. I would probably be hated in no time also. Fred is a real intelligible guy, it's a shame, people judge him based on his past actions, when they know nothing of the real man he actually is.
Couldn't have said it any better myself :) !
Alright... Yeah I also agree people judge him and sure it's easy to get carried away with fame and all that but Fred... Well, like all rappers (and the people he is with, Lil wayne especially) he tries to have some sort of 'ghetto' thing going on and it's just not working for him, he has too much of an ego.
Dude, Fred WAS such a douchebag and an asshole. A lot of people (who were in touch with him) say it. He was such a pissed off guy all the time, a smart ass. People don't take kindly to that.
There's an old saying - "Seeing is believing". You HEARD a person who may or may not have KNEW Fred Durst, say that he was an unfavorable person. Until the day I stand in front of the man, and greet him, I'm not going to take anybody's word on whether or not he's likable in person.
AlphaPhatFilms That's cool... but a few famous people say he was a douchebag. He did seem like one during early interviews, so I guess the song "douchebag" was a self-description song.
Fred stares on that interviewer like: dude are you for real?
These dudes are just cool. Wes is an amazing guitarist and Fred doesn't deserve the shit talk he gets (not forgetting Otto, Rivers, and Lethal they are extremely talented musicians.) These guys made solid records, were hugely popular, were hard working, and still maintain relevance (whether you like their style or not, which is fine, is unrelated to their accomplishments). They put on great performances and most importantly they are entertaining. The most successful musicians are great entertainers. Being entertaining and getting people's valuable attention/time is a feat that deserves recognition
@TETCOM no doubt. The fact that people are still talking about them 22+ years later is amazing. So many musicians wish people would remember them and talk about them that long after their peak popularity. So many musicians are forgotten with time and their songs were just a hit of the moment.
I think Fred deserves the hate because he was a high-octane wingebag in the 90s but the rest of the band deserve praise.
@@jwardbass4452 what the hell is wrong with being high octane
After reading about him, I understand Fred now, I am Fred! And Wes Borland's many forms are profound and deeply archetypal, from the dark side of the subconscious...disturbingly beautiful.
We are all like him in a way. He's just a normal dude who was successful doing what he loves, and that pisses people off who weren't able to succeed that way. A lot of unnecessary hate toward this band. Yeah they aren't the best ever, but they are FUN and relatable. There's so many "technical" and "deep" bands with more skill that are straight up boring snoozefests
Man. This interview.. These guy's are real ones. Always loved this band. Fred and Wes are real as fuck. They know this interview is wack. But they're very serious about what it is they have to say, for everyone to hear and absorb.
Simply the one of the most underrated bands ever. Get way more hate than deserved
Thats because fred douchebag durst.
I don't see them underrated, they were one of the biggest band back then in the era of rap-metal / nu-metal. Cool and charismatic.
@@youngtevanced8818 They were one of the most famous in the 2000s
you said it best brother
Why do they get hate? They’re a great band and I’m not just saying that because I like them
6:44 Fred turning his head bro 😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fred says he's not a singer, and yet he has one of my favourite singing voices ever. I know that if you look at his tone/range scientifically it's pretty narrow, but I guess I prefer that. I like simple music. I think it sounds waaay better than the "note salad" that you get in other bands, and all I can say to justify myself is: Look at old school video game music. They had very limited technology to work with, so the music had to be simple but because of that, they had to be creative(just like Wes said!) and that old music ended up being some of the most iconic game music ever, and it is still rarely matched to this day. Now that we've got the technology to do complex music, it hasn't necessarily resulted in better music, and so I guess you could say that I find Fred's voice as enjoyable as an old NES tune.
Well there’s no good way to say that you think “you’re a great singer”. It’s like, “ do you think you’re hot?” It’s either “yea! I’m great!”. Or it’s “no, I suck and I’m totally ugly!”. Either way you sound like a butthead.
Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, an incredible singer, once said that people appreciate passion over technical ability when it comes to singing and it was something that was always on his mind.
Fred might be far from the greatest singer, but what he's singing, he's feeling and because of that you feel it too. Add on top of that some fantastic musicians and it amplifies that ten fold. The Woodstock performance is proof of that. Their show might have been one of the best rock performances of all time. The energy was incredible.
hahaha. fred looks like he just woke up haha
with no fucking eyebrows
Is he on oxies or something?
He didn't want to though
It’s just one of those days…..
Regardless of their discrepancies, Wes & Fred are like brothers who respect one another. That’s what makes great music
Scuzz needs to lay off the stimulants.
🤣😂
Edgy vibes man
Aussie Speed is the name of my next single
Scuzz 🤣🤣😂🤓🤓🤓
Every one else - 😐
He's like that kid in Southpark
These dudes were workaholics. Literally playing on decks and make shift stages. Within a year were platinum selling artists. They literally toured, recorded, promoted, toured, recorded etc.
Wes Borland, is there a bigger case for a Jeckle and Hyde? Clark Kent, Peter Parker, he is such a square in person until he hits the stage then he becomes a Rocking Beast.
Venting the crazy, dark part of your personality to keep normal life normal? Same reason why people go mudding or drag racing or water skiing or skydiving or white water rafting. Balance. Dude is awesome
28:25 The look on Wes' face when he keeps getting cut off is priceless! Haha
Their still alive doing what they love , I ReSpEct That!
GG Allin ;)
This video has a couple of things that make it more interesting than it should be. How frantic the interviewer is and the weird editing with the sudden cuts to close up. I was laughing my ass off with the first close up cut to Wes's face, overall it's weirdly enjoyable
He's a weird interviewer, he knows his stuff and is technically a good interviewer, which should be good traits, but he's almost too upbeat and hyped so it comes off as irritating lol
It took me years to come to this conclusion but I honestly think Unquestionable Truth was their most interesting album. Hopefully they go more in that direction in part 2 if it ever comes out.
Thank you, my favorite album if theirs
Fred is a legend 🤘
Always loved LB. Ever since I got the Chocolate Starfish album when it was released on good ol' cd. But I never knew Fred had child abuse issues. Something that unfortunately I can relate to. Deep. Thanks Fred :)
I like how Wes looks like a normal person with a normal day Job until he gets on stage and becomes the devil himself😂
Wes IS limp bizkit. Happy he's back.
Fred started slow but he's a lot more self reflective than I gave him credit for. His thing about people adopting the red cap that he felt personified everything he hated after going through abuse himself must have been a trip. I've been guilty of saying people like Durst and keidis are lucky to have found their respective guitarists but honestly without Anthony and Fred you'd have probably never heard of them. There's 300 great guitarists for every 1 good frontman with vision.
Fred Durst looks like a CGI.
hahaha
I can't stop laughing omg
😂 😂 he does now that i look at him closer. he seems jet lagged or tired.
Everybody does man
You can say whatever you want about the character of the interviewer, but the questions are good as always. Not this typical "ah, what`s going on ect...." . Really informative and interesting.
Wes looks like a teacher
Nice and honest interview. I was however disappointed the interviewer did not ask Fred and Wes about The Unquestionable Truth EP. It really is a hard record and quite an outlier in their discography. Some would say it is one of if not their best. I certainly think it is. Wes's shredding on tracks like The Truth and The Channel was godly.
Seen these guys at Woodstock 99 ... was only 17 but had probably the best and worst time of my life at the same time lol
I bet lol
Fred looks like the bald max payne in max payne 3 :D
Awesome interview!! Hats off to the interviewer 👍🏻
man no one has ever sounded like Bizkit they have a pure sound i am
glad they are back
WES LOOKED LIKE HE WAS UNCOMFORTABLE...I CAN TELL THERE IS STILL SOME ISSUES BETWEEN THEM...I HOPE THEY WORK IT OUT...THEY'RE ONE OF MY FAVORITE BANDS...
I'm like the only one who likes the interviewer. I can tell he is knowledgeable about not only the business, but the music itself. Which leads me to believe he is just star struck from having Wes Fucking Borland in front of him. Wes won't even look at Fred. The interviewer held it down, didn't even look at a cue card.
why do u think wes didn't look at fred
Not sure man..tension? Care to elaborate?
I also got the impression his enthusiasm came from being a fan.
Agree. I thought it was a great interview.
@@AndreasDivus1he's like that with everyone tho lol
I love Fred and Wes and the whole band! Love them all as people and love them collectively, as the band Limp Bizkit! Simple as, really... \m/ (:o)
Cheer up Fred.
Jason Barker he rarely smiles maybe never even with his wife he keeps that face
THIS BAND MAKES PEOPLE MOVE AND JUMP LEAST THATS WHAT I SAW IN THE LATE 90S AND EVEN TODAY WATCHING CONCERTS,PEOPLE WONT ADMITT IT BUT YEA LIMP BIZKIT CAN JAM
I have renewed respect for these dudes after watching this.
Fred is genuine
My Childhood I am now 32 I Rember 1999till 2001 hugeee fan
I am Bizkiter since 99 so I love this band with all my heart, Fred & Wes here are awesome I admire them 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻
Live long limp bizkit
"Was wearing the hat like a clown putting on its makeup?" *Wes cries internally"
I'm 35 and why oh why did they get older!? Wes looks like a parent about to attend a conference.
Maybe he is a parent
Wes has a priceless answer to bands who influenced him" minor threat!!! "
Limp bizkit forever.
Wes looks sort of like Eric from "That '70s Show" here.
No he doesn't.
This interviewer needed to take it down a couple notches.
What Fred said about the Woodstock promoters not understanding the angst and rage they were tapping into by booking them and bands like Korn is so spot on. That movement, as the interviewer refers to it, was all about anger. It made them very special to people like me, but you better understand what you are tapping into when you book them.
Cool interview, interesting to see that Wes and Fred are the Ol Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Axl Rose and Slash dynamic. Two front men in a rock band who butt heads. Love their music, even today.
Wes Borland is a very handsome dad when he's not on stage.
and he's a very handsome demon when he is on stage. 🥲
My favourite album written in a week lmao
I used to crush on Wes so hard as a kid haha was so upset when he split
When signature others album came out around then he was thinking of leaving, his black light burns band is bad ass never a dull moment west is one of a kind limp bizkit wouldn't be limp with out west
Amazin' Interview
limp bizkit wouldn't be shit without wes
Other way around.
Takes more than a guitar mate, a band is a team so obviously you're wrong.
No obviously he's right. This band sucks, and it shows more when Wes isn't there jaggoff. Other way around? Listen to Wes outside of Fredworld and you might learn something dweeb.
Paul's Butler Wes rules alright.
I love Wes Borland musical approach.
I've never seen Wes without his black beady eyes. He looks so normal!
I can't believe Wes looks so cleaned up now that he's older compaired to what he looked like 15 years ago
without reading any comments, i know im not the first to say or think, that i kept getting taken out of the interview by the LB in the background because i kept singing the songs in my head as they were playin haha LB2014 LETS GOOOOO
Wes is the coolest nerd in the business
When people say, Yea, I knew something big was about to happen, No they didn't know it. That's their ego talking. ~ Wes Borland. 🎯
Before Limp Bizkit, I couldn't shake a stick at 3 girls who were worthy. Now there's 300 around every street corner. I said, I'm going to have Fum with this, because it's going to be gone tomorrow. ~ Fred Durst. 🤩
These 2 are 2 of the most humble men ever. Great interview.
I saw them on the faith no more more tour at the electric factory and they were boo'd off stage and I came to see them. It was crazy
Did anyone else get the feeling that Fred didn't want to do that interview at all, I even think he knew that his time had come and gone about 15 years ago
Limp Bizkit still rules.
Scuzz is one trendy-hipster-guy! My anger management taught me how to control my anger! Good day!
Would absolutely love to meet them .. never will happen but how cool 😎
Love how they changed their attitude in the last minutes talking about the new stuff. They must be tired talking always about the past.
Durst is criminally underrated
I love that these guys worked things out. Love it.
These men are geniuses Fred’s insane vocals/ flow on TOP OF THE SICKEST INSTRUMENTALS IVE EVER ENCOUNTERED makes them 1# in my book . 100/10
my girl
Fred seems much more humble and less of an egomaniac now
Another breakthrough will happen again with this band......
Justin Humphrey i agree. hopefully we get to hear it on stampede
Im hoping it sparks something new like their older records did. Breakthroughs are unexpected, they didn't think chocolate starfish would sell at all.
i seriously doubt it.
but anything's possible
Considering all of the different elements in their music and whats popular in a lot of what's going on today's music (experimental rap/noise rap/) Limp Bizkit could totally make a breakthrough comeback. I thought Gold Cobra was pretty good but I've got higher hopes for Stampede of Disco Elephants.
Justin Humphrey 😂😂😂
Fred and Wes definitely didn’t want to be there lol
Between writing, recording, rehearsal, live shows, travel, family... who tf would want to sit down for an interview 🥱😴
@@ext93 yeah imagine doing an interview everyday about your day to day job LOL
Wes, você é uma gracinha, vendo este vídeo só por sua causa.
Fred and Wes legends
Fred looks so tired....aww
Great interview - but why does Wes look so awkwered? Was always my fav member, but I do still wonder if his heart is really in Limp Bizkit.
1985year his heart needs some cashola, brothas broke
wow Wes is a construction worker now?
Hahahaha, that's the new character for the next tours
lmao I know right
ErikVaughnDillinger OMG i thought the same thing lol but he still looks good ;)
I lol'd at your comment hahah
I love Wes so much lol
2001 was a rough year for me as well. Half it was because Wes had left Limp Biskit.
Wes looks like the company it tech guy.
this fucking interviewer did great because this was a tough setup. good job man
wes looks fresh and clean here coz we often see him in that body paint
And meanwhile Fred is looking old and burned out
Absolutely adore how Fred is just eyeballing Beez throughout this video lmao when Wes is talking
Ole boy is so nervous, I’m waiting for a blonde wig and the word shwangggg
Limp bizkit legendary
All these comments...."fred looks like....wes looks like....scuzz looks like..."
Just like fred said..."so ignorant...they just dont know any better". Even if its not negative, everyone has to judge everyone and make assumptions from behind the keyboard.
Wes looks like he’s sat in the Headteacher’s office waiting for a grilling.
Interviewer looks like Garth from Wayne's World lol
omg wes remember me from like 2001 or something from that concert I was in like the 15th row wearing kakis and prolly like a rage t-shirt or somethin. i think it kind of smelled like weed at that show ... remember?
i knew you'd remember ... THAAAAAANKS!!!!!!!
Wes looks like a fucking hollywood actor
what a great interview
Fred Durst looks like Walter White, and sounds complete stoned, LOL
Wes Borland what a fucking boss
So the interviewer looks more like Fred Durst than Fred Durst does. The interview itself has the feel of a funeral after party
