Also, wheel hop is a normal issue with these cars on drag radials because of the IRS. Even with the stop the hop kit. As long as you get out of the power ASAP its fine, and it just means you should either launch a bit softer with less RPM, or feather the clutch a bit more to avoid that harsh drivetrain shock that can get wheel hop started. You can build up the rear cradle more to solve this problem completely, but then the street manners will suffer. The differential bushings are a big factor since the factory ones are really soft for NVH reasons.
Congrats on the new PB! 60' times are huge when it comes to this stuff and will drop times more so than anything else except for driver mod. The reaction time is not really a factor, I'd sit there and practice more on getting a good launch / 60' time more so than trying to cut a good light since you can sit there forever and the reaction time is not a factor. The time only starts when you break the beam.
@@chopdogrulz1337 Haha nice! People put too much emphasis on the reaction time. Unless you’re going for a whole shot win then it means nothing outside of an actual competition. If you’re just doing general racing the reaction time should be the last thing to be concerned with
The launch control RPM is adjustable, I use 3000 for normal street/summer tires in autocross and it works great. You can also use the line lock for easy burnouts (although you have to hold the brake so hard it seems like its gonna go through the floor). Pretty good shifts and driving overall though! The MT-82D4 in the newer cars is geared pretty tall, so its not really ideal for this type of stuff to begin with. I want to do a 4.09 rear gear swap on mine soon.
I wasn’t using factory launch control, it doesn’t work well for me for some reason. I just hold the gas to whatever I feel seems like enough and let out of the clutch when I’m ready to go. Thank you! :)
@@Senditshayyeah you're not the only one who's told me it doesn't work for them, so I'm not implying you're using it wrong haha. The two step sound it makes is pretty wild to hear on a coyote though.
By chance do you know what rear end gear ratio you have (3:55, 3:73, 4:11 etc)? I have a '19 Mustang base 6 sp manual that I considering upgrading. I might just trade in for another car (Mustang GT premium or my latest obsession, Camaro 2SS 1LE or if $ comes available Camaro ZL1 1LE (supercharged from Chevy with 650 hp). Or I might keep my present baby and upgrade it. I need to watch your videos that will tell me what bolt ons you have done. I am an over thinker so when you said "I don't think, I just do" (something close to that) it had an impact on me. I tend to freak myself out when I think too much. "Analysis leads to paralysis".
I have the stock rear end, and this is a premium! So it’s the 3.55s! The performance packs have the 3.73s! I just uploaded a video where I talk about every mod I have on the car and the 2 I’m currently installing! It’s not a whole lot right now but it’s still fun! 😊 I said “I dont ever know what I’m doing I just do it” hahaha that’s a part of why I made my handle “send it shay” because I like to live by just doing it! Life is too short, just go for it and do what you love!

I never use launch control it has a 1 second delay. It’s terrible and I wish they didn’t have them they are useless. I wish our strip didn’t close down, bandimere was the best. We are now two hours away from a strip 😢. Good job though! The hop is from traction control. I learned that the hard way. My gt350 hopped so bad it snapped my corner marker light on the back bummer. When you warm up the tires turn off traction control. It helps a ton.
Thank you!! I always have advance traction off when doing burnouts! All the drag strips around me are 1-1/2 hours at least 😭 and all 1/8 mile instead of 1/4 😟
@Senditshay I'd love to my uncle has a 71 mach 1 with a c6 auto and built 351 Cleveland that he takes to the track. I want to do some stuff to mine I'm just trying to get my life together I was on disability at one point.
Its a sweet ride for sure. But....I'm pretty sure I'd get a slight win maybe 1-2 seconds with my Challenger R/T. Unless yours is modded of course cuz mine is stock
