"Ring Of Fire" was a number one hit on the country charts for Johnny Cash for nearly two months in 1963. The mariachi-style horns give it a definite Tex-Mex feel and the song has been used in television commercials for Mexican food restaurants several times. Vivian Cash, Johnny Cash's first wife, says the "ring of fire" is a metaphor for a vagina.
"Sunday Morning Coming Down" Written by the great Kris Kristofferson "There ain't nothin' short of dyin' Half as lonesome as the sound On the sleepin' city sidewalks Sunday mornin' comin' down"
WELLLLLL IT'S GOOD TO SEE YOU'RE STILL AROUND BIZ!!! 😊 I SURE HOPE THAT ALL IS GOOD WITH YOU AND YOURS MAN! 😊JOHNNY AND ALSO ( ERIC CLAPTON ) HAVE BEEN INDUCTED INTO THE ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME ( 3 ) TIMES ) TIMES BIZ, THREEEEE, NOW THAT'S FIRE! 😊
When June met Johnny they were married to other people. She knew they couldn't be together because of that. She wrote this song for him to describe how it felt for him.
Excellent observation about whether he was country or folk. Traditionally he was a country artist but his wife June Carter won 2 Grammys as a Christian singer and influenced him.
I like just about everything the man in Black has done. He was just so real and funny and serious and hard and all that. The cool thing is, in my honky-tonk band, we covered this and I normally I was playing electric guitar and singing backing vocals but I also played trumpet on some of the stuff and so I would sling my guitar down and then pick up the trumpet to do those fanfare mariachi parts, but there was only one trumpet so the pedal steel player would play the other Harmony trumpet part. And as soon as that was done I put the trumpet down and pull the guitar up and step up to the microphone barely in time to start playing and singing those backing vocals. This is one of his most iconic songs. And rhythmically, it's got a few strange hitches in it. I had heard it so much growing up that I can do it in my sleep but some of the other guys in the band, although everybody is familiar with that song, they kept trying to make it completely straight for and they forgot to either add extra beats or subtract extra beats. It was hilarious but we finally got it right.
I'm not really a country/western music connoisseur but I do like a few songs, especially Johnny Cash's. If you listen to "cocaine blues" you will realize that he was ahead of his time. But even in his time cocaine was of course an issue and J.C. was one of the first to describe it (because he knew it well). For me he is the best of all in the country/western scene and his last albums are unforgettable of their kind anyway. Best wishes @all from hamburg germany)
Hey Biz, haven’t seen you in a bit. Sadly I lost my furry buddy a few weeks ago, been in a bit of a fog since. He would always warn me when you were about to sing .Johnny Cash a Legend
It’s been a while since I’ve seen you and I like all of the little cards that you have on the wall. Are those postcards? And do you have the Bee Gees up anywhere and if so where I know I’m annoying.😊
Johnny Cash is his own genre .
Country ,gospel , Rock .
Johnny Cash is everything. Country, folk, rock and anything in-between. The original rebel.
Written by June Carter for Johnny while they were stepping out together, while Johnny was married to another woman.

In the top five of almost every list of greatest country songs of the 20th century.
Love the old school country more so than today’s country.
Love Johnny, this a classic!
Fulsom Prison Blues is awesome too.

I have never heard anyone say that they don't like Johnny Cash.

Johnny transcended genres.

A lot of country singers don't write their own music. Reminds me of my stepdad playing country music in the car when I was young.
I guess he wrote over 1500 songs. Not too bad.
Check out The man in Black
Can’t miss with JC.
Keep Cash in the mix...😎😎
The song is about what happens the day after eating a really spicey meal....burning ring of fire. But still loves that spicey food.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🔥🔥🔥🔥
