The Predator's weapons didn't malfunction at the end. He wanted to fight Dutch hand to hand.
Yup that’s why he stared at him and took all the armor off. Respect. He found a worthy opponent.
You also see him remove the weaponry when he removes his armor in order to do so.
@@bigmikem1578He was inspecting and admiring his skull. Would make a nice trophy 😅.
Isnt it amazing how dumb people are nowadays.

I loved it when you understood the Spanish and translated it. Coby is fluent in 6 million forms of communication.
Predator 2 is underrated but getting more appreciation lately. It does a great job of expanding the lore and introduces some cool new weaponry.
I personalluy enjoy Predator 2 more because it takes the Die Hard route and instead of a buff type like Arnold, they get someone that is more like Bruce Willis.
Also, Danny Glover and María Conchita Alonso.
Expanding the lore or just putting an Alien skull amongst all the props in the Predators ship and by accident creating a whole new AvP universe lol
I think that whole voodoo drug gang thing really sucks. But the movie gets good once it's down to the predator and Danny Glover
After Predator 2, Prey is a great movie and the latest in the Predator franchise.
The laughing we hear at the end from the Predator before the explosion is actually a replay of the Predator's recorded Billy's laugh, just amplified.
I thought the final laugh was Predator finally getting Hawkins's echo joke.
I love the “get to the choppa!” realization moment in Predator reactions!
Colby's reaction was great! Had a great laugh with her!

Two future Governors in this movie: Arnold of California, and Jesse Ventura of Minnesota.
Sonny Landham, who played Billy, was Governor of Kentucky.

Predator is THE most MACHO of MACHO movies of all eternity, nothing will ever be as macho.
Lone wolf Mquade is another good one
"I ain't got time to bleed". The most macho line ever.
very true! I actually grew a full moustache when Dutch and Dylan greeted each other, and I was only 10 years old
The Expendables film series, particularly the second one, might give it a run for its money for the most Macho prize. BTW "The Thing" (1982) was very unique as a horror film in that it had an all male cast. But Ripley, the PTSD female in Aliens was the most Macho of characters in movie history.
@@DaBinChe Yeah, this kind of film would not get made today without some badass chicks in it.
- The guy with glasses telling jokes trying to get Billy to laugh is Shane Black, who wrote a bunch of other 1980's & 1990's action movies, most of them set around Christmas..
- The guy with the mustache and minigun ("I ain't got time to bleed") is former pro wrestler Jesse Ventura, who was later Mayor of Bloomington, MN and Governor of MN. Before pro wrestling he was a Navy UDT frogman, but was never deployed to a SEAL team. He was in a bunch of 1980's and 1990's action movies, including Arnold's "The Running man" (also 1987) and Stallone's "Demolition Man" (1993). After acting in movies with Arnold he stopped using his wrestling nickname "The Body" 😏
- The bald black guy is Bill Duke, who was in a bunch of 1980's and 1990's action movies, including "Commando"
- Sonny Langham, playing Billy the tracker, later ran unsuccessfully for Governor of Kentucky.
Towards the end, the Predator was honoring Dutch for being worthy prey, which is why it opted to fight him without weapons.
Hi Coby. Former U.S. Navy special operations support team member here. I worked with Navy SEALs, Riverines, Beachmasters, and often with other branches' spec ops teams in the Middle East during the 2000s.
You asked how Billy was able to determine six or eight men solely by footprints.
By examining the ground, the tracker can identify and count six distinct sets of footprints. Each person has a unique walking pattern, foot size, and weight distribution, which slightly alters their footprints. A skilled tracker can distinguish these subtle differences to count the exact number of individuals.Military teams often move in specific formations and exhibit disciplined movement. The tracker might notice that the footprints are spaced in a way that suggests tactical movement, such as spreading out to maintain stealth or moving in a coordinated manner.
Incredible reply, Chris - thank you for your service, and just blown away at how that all works. Amazing
Great information! Thank you. BTW what is your opinion of the 1997 film "G.I. Jane" starring Demi Moore and Viggo Mortensen, assuming that you've seen it?

I was a little kid when I first saw this, like 8 or 9 y/o, I loved it. This will always be one of my favorite action movies.
To answer your questions near the end:
The Predator didn’t kill Dutch immediately because he earned the Predator’s respect. That’s also why he dumped his ranged weapons and fought Dutch hand-to-hand.
And yes, the Predator noticed the trap. I like how he takes a few seconds to examine it, almost as if he admired it (before going around and falling into the backup trap).
She doesn’t read these comments, bro
She doesn't because this is not her RUclips channel. It's a channel that picks the best reactors for maximum views, and therefore maximum revenue.
Excellent. You were catching on to virtually everything as it went along!! Great!!!
The helicopter pilot at the end is the actor who portrayed the preditor! Kevin Peter Hall. Sadly he passed a few short years after this film.
As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
Always fun watching Coby react to Arnold movies 😂😊
Kevin Peter Hall was already 7' 2" without the suit. The Predator was massive. 😮
R.I.P Kevin Peter Hall
Carey Jones now took the part of portraying the protagonist behind the costume. He also played the role of Black Krrsantan in The book of Boba Fett ... and as soon as i saw Black Krrsantan i could almost knew right away that the movement was very simular to a Predator...so ilooked it up and it turned out that i was right! It was an actor that was behind the two costumes!
True, and I'm glad that Van Damme at the end resigned from that role, as originally he was the one that suppose to be wearing Predator suit.
He was also the helicopter pilot at the end. McTiernan wanted to give him a cameo because he appreciated the hard work how tiresome wearing the predator outfit was.
@@tannhauser5399 That's because the suit he was wearing was ridiculous. Luckily Stan Winston stepped in, redesigned it and probably said "Look, just get an insanely huge mofo". Rip Stan Winston & Kevin Peter Hall
It was such a original movie and the Predator reveal was great. Excellent job Coby!
The laughing at the end was not the Predator, it was the Predator replaying Billy's laugh from the echo joke from earlier.
I never get tired of watching this movie, lost count how many times I’ve seen since a kid
Great reaction Coby. This is one of arnies best. Still one of the best sci movies ever. John McTiernan was such a underrated director, RIP Carl Weather. Big thumbs up
Seeing this back in the 80s when it first came out was magical! Seeing people still watching it and loving it is priceless.
Always amazes me how well this movie holds up. Glad you enjoyed it, my brother and I wore out the VHS tape watching it WAY too many times. Oops, just aged myself.
The predator found Dutch a worthy adversary so went hand to hand.
It had nothing to do with its tech being broken.
The Predator voice is done by the one and only Peter Cullen who was the voice for Optimus Prime and Eeyore from Winnie The Pooh.
Gosh, you pick up things on first viewing that many folks don't ever pick up! 🙂
except for the fact that an alien pod drops from a space ship and thinks its just some animal
She mentioned camouflage early on and it turned out to be a major plot point in the movie.
04:34 That's the other Governor in this movie, Jesse Ventura. They also stared together in the movie the "Running Man"
The actor you didn't know at the beginning ("Who's that guy?") was Jesse Ventura who later went on to be Governor of Minnesota.
Few well known faces (and less known) too: Bill Duke, from Commando (the one to whom Arnold said that he is eating Green Berets for breakfast), and one of the "Russian" guys in the camp is Sven-Ole Thorsen (uncredited in this role), friend of Arnold (who also had a small roles in Read Heat, Conan the Barbarian, Conan the Destroyer, The Running Man, Last Action Hero and so on).
My family had a condo on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mx. when "Predator" (1987) came out. I learned that the firefight with the guerillas was shot at "El Eden" restaurant in the jungle down the coast about 45 min. drive by Jeep. You drive S. via a highway to Mismaloya, Mx. & then turn E. on a dirt road into the jungle. My G.F. & I went down to P.V. for a wk. vacation around 1990. At the time the movie was shot & when we visited, El Eden only served from like 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. as they had no electricity. All the cooking & cleaning was done via wood fires & ovens. In the movie, you see railings in some shots along walkways. A small river runs along side of the restaurant with a waterfall. Above the falls, the current has worn the river bed down to smooth solid rock. Customers can swim & play in the river. The current is swift & if you scoot out into the current it will shoot you off of the water fall & into a large pool below. There was no facilities other than the restaurant so we had to walk into the jungle to change into our swimsuits. Just think of stripping down to change in the same jungle where the Predator was watching from the trees. Thank God my G.F. was beautiful as I completely forgot about the Predator. We went off of the falls in tandem with her sitting between my legs. After a swim in the jungle pool we ate dinner & headed back to P.V. I looked up El Eden on line & they have made it all touristy with Predator memorabilia. Just 1 of many memories in my old age.
Coby, the cowboy guy who didn't have time to bleed was Jesse Ventura. He is a former pro wrestler who went by Jesse "The Body" Ventura. Then he also was the Governor of Minnesota.
JOHN McTIERNAN is right up there with James Cameron for action directing. Pure focus on adrenaline and clear storytelling.
As always a very enjoyable watch along to one of my favourite movies. The cute little dog must have seen this movie before because it only had eyes for you Coby......cheers.
Jesse Ventura was the Gouverneur of Minnesota around 2000s. He is also in the movie Running Man with Arnie. Idk if you recognized him but Bill Duke was in the movie Commando you watched before. Shane Black directed Predator - Upgrade which is a shitty Predator movie for me it's on the same level as Aliens vs Predator 2 movie.
The key piece of information that's slowly revealed is that the Predator is a trophy hunter, who only goes after the most dangerous game (which on Earth, is humans, specifically armed humans), and while he is a hunter/predator, he also abides by a code of honor, as many hunters do. He doesn't kill the unarmed/those who aren't a danger to him - only those who are armed and are potentially dangerous. And like many hunters, he keeps trophies of his kills. Predator 2 reveals a bit more of this, but this is an important foundation to the lore.
There are lots of other hunting details, like the way the Predator imitates his prey in order to draw them, e.g. Mac's "Any time" and Billy's laugh. Depending on the species, hunters often avoid killing females in order to keep their hunting grounds populated. When he traps Dutch he decides to fight him mano a mano to make the kill more memorable. He also takes a good long look at Dutch's skull, noticing what a magnificent specimen it is.
It's because Western women do not like to see violence against women on screen.
My #1 Favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movie from my childhood!
Originally Jean Claude Van Damme was hired to play the PREDATOR but quit the project as he was tired of wearing the suit, which looked like a lizard/insect hybrid, as he complained the suit was too hot. 7'2" Kevin Peter Hall, 1955-1991, was hired to play the Predator as he was more of intimidating opponent for Dutch and his men.
Sonny Landham 1941-2017, who played Billy, was given a bodyguard not to protect him from people, but to protect people from him as he was prone to violent outbursts.
Landham even said in an interview that ,"We weren't making a movie, it was a survival story for all of us."
Half the cast and crew got food poisoning, except for Schwarzenegger and Director John McTiernan, as they ate Spaghetti-O's and PBJ sandwiches. Schwarzenegger would hire his own personal chef to give the actors the food they needed. No hot meals were allowed onset due to the 109 degree heat, as the actors ate protein bars.
The scene where the stuntman falls ofd the cliff and lands in the water blew out his kneecap.
It rained for 2 weeks, which made filming even more difficult.
Oscar Winning VFX artist Stan Winston, 1946-2008, was brought in to make the new PREDATOR suit for the movie, in order to make the creature more realism and make it more scarier in the final cut.
Winston would return to the franchise for PREDATOR 2 in 1990.
The film was a box office and critical success, making $100 million dollars ($264 million dollars today) against an $18 million dollar budget.
It was nominated for Best Visual Effects, but lost to InnerSpace.
Total Recall,The Running Man are a couple other good Arnold movies.Danny Glover is the main character in 2.Also 2 tells you the whole back story of Predator and why he was there.
Fun Fact: Hawking (the pu$$y joke guy) is played by Shane Black, who went on to write and direct "The Predator" in 2018.
And lethal weapon 1 and 2, the Last boy scout, nice guys, kiss kiss bang bang, long kiss goodnight, monster squad
The Predator (2018) is one of the worst movies every made... but yes.. you are factually accurate.
IMO... Predator 2 (1990) is like a B+ grade.. fun
and Predators (#3 2010) with Adrian Brody and Lawrence Fishburne is an underrated film... B+ as well
Shane Black was killed off early so he could write Lethal Weapon.
@@ddcoddjob11 I agree. Although, I kinda put Predators above Predator 2. And yeah... The Predator was just awful.
The second one to die, Blaine played by Jesse Ventura, is an actual U.S. Navy SEAL before he was a famous wrestler.
He was not a Navy SEAL. He was on the, Underwater Demolition Team (UDT). In order to be on a SEAL Team, you need to be assigned to the team. He was never assigned to a team.
@@Williameagleblanket He may not have been successfully assigned into a Team, but all UDT Teams were designated into SEAL Teams by President Kennedy

The predator respected arnie, thats why he fought him hand to hand
The end credits video for this movie works perfectly with just about any old sitcom theme music. It's kind of astounding. There are several mashup vids
The pilot at the end is the actor that played the predator... Originally John Claude Van Damme was gonna be the Predator and it was gonna look much different. Glad they changed it
Predator is my FAVORITE film. So much so, that I have a Predator arm sleeve on my whole right arm! LOVE THIS FILM and the character.
The Predator is a big game hunter from another planet. He hunts humans because they are the most dangerous game on the planet. The Predator skins his game and makes trophies of his kills.
Billy cuts himself before going into battle because as a Native American warrior he wants to be the first to draw blood.
Predator mimicking and taunting Dutch's men is not only intimidating 😳 but downright scary. Especially when the Predator uses Billy's laugh at the end of the film before the Predator nuked himself! -OG
The taking off of the suit and fight at the end is the same meme as when Riggs and Mr. Joshua take "a shot a the title" at the end of 'Lethal Weapon'. It was a big common scene in '80s action flims.
The reason why the tracker is so good (no offense to anyone) is that he is an American native and it is said they used American natives as trackers in the service since WW2... Nuff said
They were also code talkers in WW2 as well.
😃 sniff the dirt dude.
Also Believe the novel dives into his heritage and he has a sort of mysticism and senses/feels the predator even tho he doesn't see
This movie is far better than most anything hollywood big budgets make nowadays. And far more manly as well
I love how much excitement you got from, "...GET TO DA CHOPPA!!!!!!!!"
24:35 Blasting the jungle only in "general direction" was a Vietnam-era anti-sniper doctrine, ie. everyone in the vicinity shoots the whole magazine. On the other hand, later in the movie when the table turned, we see the Predator sending plasma bolt after plasma bolt into the jungle after an invisible enemy.
Which tells something about the genius of John McTiernan, the director of this and many iconic movies.
Get to the Chopper indeed, this was the Arnold film when I first saw this I thought he was going die, Coby I'm glad your dog came to your rescue. 😂
I do recommend Prey...
"Prey" is terrible.
it took its helmet and gear off at the end as it felt Arnold was a worthy opponent and wanted to fight him hand to hand combat, it looks for worthy prey to kill for its trophy case.. it was looking at arnolds bone structure on his face as arnold was different and a better fighter than the others
The log wasn't meant for that. It wax just the counter weight for the spike trap
your "get to the chopp-AAAAAH!" epiphany was the HIGHLIGHT! 😁 really enjoyed your reaction! 👍☺
Glad you enjoyed!

One of the best action (and SF) movies of the 80’s
I always loved rappelling out of helicopters, especially the Hueys. Blackhawks were okay, but they didn't have skids like the Hueys. I sure miss it. Lovely reaction, Coby!
I heard that there's a place in California where you can rent out a Helicopter and a fire a real machine gun from the air onto designated targets below. Don't know if it includes rappelling out afterwards.
Everyone i knew in the military and the special ops community STILL quotes this movie.
"Fig face"😁 your not wrong😁👍 great way to spend a saturday! Thanks, coby✌😁
I feel like one of the best sequences in Arnie movies is him getting out of the jeep in the red shirt and walking up to the general, smoking a cigar: “Been a long time general”! That’s just the best Arnie into ever!!
45:20 It can't see him properly because its infrared vision was in its helmet, which it took off for the fight.
43:50 You noticed it's taking skulls as trophies. When it looked at his skull, it saw a strong opponent with a worthy trophy, worthy of a one on one fair fight. No alien weapons or helmet assisted vision, just a fight on equal terms. It would make the trophy more meaningful.
I'm glad they don't reveal too much about the Predator in this movie. They say less is more. The less you know about the Predator, the scarier he becomes. But I think it's twofold. The less you know about the Predator, the more you want to know about what makes him tick. The perfect formula for a sequel! -OG
Coby has the best reactions. This movie was incredible for its time. I think everyone at the time was trying to make these kinds of movies, but predator stands out by far. Just really well done, great cast, great editing. No following Predator came even close to this.
Dillon (Carl Weathers) is definitely not a villain. He was just focused on humna affairs until the alien came into the picture. And then he showed his true, courageous colors.
Arny earned it's respect it's fighting him mano e mano kind of like a boxer wanting a fair challenge. It's a testosterone thing.
Another fun one! Great watch along for this endlessly quotable action classic.

She is from 84 (she said in her reaction to 1984's the terminator : this movie was released the year i was born, or was it the time travel in that movie and on screen showed 1984 and she says the year i was born).
Funny I said something similar to her before. She’s absolutely beautiful.
@@schietdammeri was about to say that, i was shocked when she said that lol
She was born the same year as me. 1984.
I would have pegged her birth year as 1997 or 98. But mid-90's works as well. Would never suspect the 80's. I make it a habit to give women birthday cards that makes them 10 years younger. (unless of course they're already 20 yo.)
Please react to "Prey" from a couple of years back. On a personal note, I'm glad you were able to fight off that vicious little beast that kept jumping into your lap!
It's not infrared vision but thermalsight since the predator can still see the signatures in the dark.
Which is the same.
Mac is gonna have his skull claimed as a trophy, you'll notice one skull has a burn mark on the forehead area, where he got shot by the Predator.
I love how you say "get to the choppa!"
The machismo is believable because it was very real behind the scenes - constant rivalry over who had the earliest workout, the biggest arms, who could handle the most weight... the making of is worth a watch. Also the chopper pilot at the end is the guy who played the Predator. Mctiernan felt sorry for him being stuck in a suit in 120 degree Jungle heat and humidity for several months so gave him an on screen scene
"It's from the 80's please let it hold up" uhh everything in the 80's holds up to the trash today
Btw incase you didn't catch on, they had high end military and government in that area same with the russians and latinos. SOmething big was happening in that area what happened to an alien lifeform
Also the scene where he picks up arnold he's inspecting the capabilities of his body and knows he has no weapons, so using weapons or his face armor wouldn't make it a worthy kill
He also uses Billy's laugh at the end
Coby had me rollin'.
She said Alien vs. Predator is just 2 Aliens!?
