The thing i’m realizing now, when Kevin Feige tried to tell everyone that after phase 3, they were pivoting to not have phases anymore and instead do smaller story arcs for different characters. Everyone didn’t really wanna hear that and kept calling it phase 4/ phase 5 etc. Myself included. It seems that’s why most of us are like thrown off at how disjointed the mcu feels in terms of connectivity. Cuz if the over arching story was there, and it was good, we wouldn’t care about the homework stuff cuz it would ultimately pay off in that Endgame style.

Exactly. I never heard anyone say marvel was back with GOTG3. Very excited for what he's gonna cook with Superman: legacy. I have complete faith in it unlike most of marvel nowadays.
The movie actually really bad, this was crazy to me on how much i hated it. The poor actors were acting their asses off to save this movie but man did this suck.
I think the obvious reason why marvel has taken the dip it has is because the studio (kevin feige and others) got excited by the prospect and possibilities of stories they could bring to the platform to widen their franchise. In other words they started to focus more on quantity over quality, and it was fine at first, but now the cracks have started to show. I don't think everything since post endgame has been terrible, but the moderate and okay stuff they've put out that left me feeling just whelmed has greatly lowered my anticipation for any future projects that might even have the potential to just be meh. Hopefully with Disney back under Bob Iger, and them removing the middleman that the ex disney ceo (Bob Chapek) integrated into all the disney owned studios that forced the initiative of quantity over quality, Kevin can get back to what he does best, and now this movie, The Marvels, kinda being the last rushed out project from the Chapek regime, we can start getting an MCU that values quality over quantity. The Echo trailer has already given me faith in that idea.
Monica Rambeau sacrificed herself at the end of the movie. Dar-Benn’s (the villain.) actions opened a dimensional hole that led to a new universe. And it was important for them to close this hole to prevent it from sucking in the entire universe. Monica allowed herself to become the conduit of the powers of both Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan as she went to the other side of the portal to close it. But because she needed to be on the other side to completely close the hole, she got stranded in that universe. Upon waking up, Monica found herself in some sort of a hospital or lab. She woke up and found Maria Rambeau, her mother, lying on the bed next to her. But Maria was confused about what was happening. Beast of the X-Men appeared to tell Monica that she was now in a separate universe that was parallel to her own universe. Honestly I didn't care for seeing Kelsey Grammer's beast return. If the X-men are all just gonna be the old actors playing alternate versions of themselves then I'd rather not have them in the MCU at all. Either recast them or don't bother at all.
I want to see the movie but at the same time I don’t. Like I think it’d be fun and I want to see the Ppst-Credit scene bc I heard it involves certain ppl. But I usually like to take my mom to go see these with me just because we don’t hangout much. And I’d feel so bad bringing her to a movie that she would have absolutely no clue what’s going on in.
Chris. I’ll keep on saying this till my face turns blue: You don’t NEED to see the Disney Plus series or other movies to fully understand what’s happening. If you DO need some “homework”, there’s the miniseries Marvel Studios Legends, which is a clip show where each episode explains all the important details in FIVE MINUTES. It’s as simple as that!
My main issue with the MCU is that it feels like there are zero payoffs. It doesn't feel like anything leads up to anything. It also feels like the stakes are always so low because of course everything will turn out just dandy. I understand not wanting to bog things down by making them too complex with tying them all together, but this latest phase really feels like pretty much every movie could be a standalone in the long run. Pre-Endgame we watched movie after movie that would tie together for that huge cinematic event. We had Avengers. We had Infinity War. We had Endgame. Those felt EARNED. We went to every movie to watch the stories expand and weave together until we got those amazing cinematic events like Infinity War and Endgame. But now everything just feels...meh. This movie looks like a filler episode of some Disney+ show. Hell, everything has pretty much been that. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was really fun, but what exactly did it do for the sake of moving the story along? Ant-Man 3 was pretty much some random stand alone film except for introducing Kang. The point is that we all saw those movies and....so what? Now we get to watch those same sort of movies AND we have to watch some Disney+ series on top of that to be able to understand the damn stand alone/filler movie. It feels like work instead of enjoyment. These movies don't flow naturally -- they feel forced.
The director said that the fight scenes in this movie are inspired by FF7 Advent Children. If that’s at all true, I think I’m going to enjoy this one, even if just for the fight scenes alone!
1. We are spoiled as a fandom. Imagine a world where a negative is that someone has to watch other movies in a profession or where they love watching movies and say it's a negative. Spoiled. 2. They definitely messed up with not having a captain marvel 2 in phase 4. They definitely should have had a shang chi 2 and an eternals 2 by now. but all of the behind the scenes stuff and pandemic etc has thrown so much off. I still have faith and will be there day one of marvels opening.
+8000lah 1. Wholeheartedly agreed! 2. This IS Captain Marvel 2. It's just like Civil War is still Captain America 3 and Brave New World is still Captain America 4 (or part 1 with Sam Wilson as the new Cap). I also agree that we should've gotten a sequel to Eternals and Shang-Chi right now, but haven't because of outside stuff. No matter what, I'll always be there for Marvel, because they've been there for me.
The reason I watched the OG MCU is that I've never been into comics it's not much of a thing where I live (I'm more into Manga) For someone like me who isn't familiar with comics, the many takes on a story for one single character isn't easy to get into so having a straight line, clear series of movies was cool It has begins and an end with everyone I followed, neat! Now, aside from gready Disney executives and shareholders trying to spam us with empty productions without a story and/or message and creative takes, we also have SO MANY things to follow, it's too overwhelming and the low quality makes it hard to get through with it The executives now it and are trying to come up with excuses saying some movies and shows are now standalone but the damage is done and many scenes already try to makes connections so how do you wanna cut them?! Bringing back iron man and his pals also just shows we should kill this off No reboots, just clearly stated and thought it standalones like back in the day and for those who wants it crazy, the comic books will always be there
Yea I don't care about this movie, but imma gonna see it cause it's free for me and I like Monica character, so I'm going go support her, plus it's Thursday and I wanna see a movie😂😂😂
When they get all the women out of directing, as hero’s, or character’s in general, and start having all white male casts the movies will go back to billion dollar films. The reality is white audiences don’t want to see black, Latino, or Indian males or women in marvel movies. They didn’t even support the black widow movie. So the solution is simple all white males in lead rows, white male directors, no white women, no black or brown people and the box office numbers will sky rocket. That’s what the audience in particular the white male audiences want to see that is what they will support. It’s not conjecture or my opinion just look at the box office of the first 22 movies.
I for the longest time was hoping people would change their minds once they watch the movie, since nobody is expecting anything about it, once it shows up to be at least a good movie people might actually like it. I still hope I'm right
Nah I don't trust them with the x-men anymore, They think that if they're just gonna bring back the old actors as different versions of themselves you automatically have a connection with that character. I don't think so marvel. You gotta put in the work. You gotta sell me on a new actor or actress. I'm not buying it. As for the young avengers I'll hold my judgement for now. But we'll see how well they pull it off.

That moment where RUclipsrs with resources & budgets multiple times less than large corporations are able to make better content in every way possible 👍
The Marvels and most of the MCUs recent past projects have failed to tell interesting individual and loosely connected stories while also failing to introduce new characters that can connect to audiences beyond the films and shows that they’re introduces in. The MCU films used to be diverse, inclusive, and told social and political stories that connected with modern audiences but they did that while focusing more on the actual story and characters itself. Another thing that they did was put more effort and focus into each story they told rather than having each film or tv show be forced to set up something in the future or pay off something in the past. Each film also felt very independent from each other in terms of writing, production design, costumes, and direction. This created variety and a feeling that this was a large universe which benefited the finale to each phase, The Avengers movies. Going further one of the biggest issues for me is that every superhero film or franchise film feels like it has to reach an Avengers level stake. “The city is in danger”, “the world is in danger”, “the galaxy is in danger”, and now it’s either the universe or even multiverse being in danger!!! The stakes have risen so high to the point that people can’t connect with those stakes and it’s getting tiring. In short poor writing, direction, uninteresting to unlikable characters, lack of stakes, zero creativity, and a greater push of political and social messages is what’s ruining the MCU.
Listen cris, I really respect you buddy but please stop listening to ppl who complain about having to do homework to get mcu projects and agreeing with them. We have recaps from various RUclips channels, even marvel has their OWN goddamn recap series and they've already put out the character recaps for carol, monica and kamala. I know the sheer increase of project can turn some ppl off but if Disney didn't push kevin to come up with stuff to put on their streaming service to boost subscriptions as well as telling him to use the 'oh we can introduce a new hero here so we dont have to when they show up in the movies' excuse, we wouldn't have such a big quantity problem within the mcu.
As someone who’s watched it, I personally thought it was a bad movie but very fun and action-packed and the cgi looks genuinely really good at times. Kamala Khan shines as Ms Marvel + the end credit scene is amazing so try to avoid spoilers for it.

Really appreciate your takeaway from these reactions and keeping it civil. I personally think it looks like a fun time but expectations aren’t sky high. Keeping an open mind for when I see it. Looking forward to your review since you’re one of the only people I trust.
It’s not disjointed, you really can still watch the individual movies and shows and still be enjoy them.
@@benmalsky9834 you are verry toxic I see too much positivety is not always good and too much negativety is also not good a bit of both
Chris I believe first of all people see marvel just as a movie but others who know the backstory who reads the comic books and chris this is where we are. There are two types if marvels fans and movies add on fans
I'm gonna do like I always do, go watch the movie because I want to and because it's fun to me. I don't care what anyone else says about it I'll make my own opinion.
Well @ least you'll have the theater all to yourself.
I never expected this movie too be good, glad I was right
You really just hope movies fail? What a loser mentality
It IS good!
@@benmalsky9834As background noise
@@benmalsky9834have you seen it?
@@benmalsky9834 I just watched it and I was right, it was a 4/10 at best, the choreography wasn’t as good as critics claimed it was, the dynamic was okay between the 3 stars and the cgi is pretty wonky at times, with a meh villain I’d say it’s a good 4/10
Marvel wasn’t back with GOTG3, if anything, it was their last major thread of genuine quality walking out the door with James Gunn.
I am going to support this because I don't trust a majority of reviewers on the internet.
Same!!
Whether positive or negative, you should always decide for yourself
I might just wait for Disney+ with this. I really don’t care about seeing any MCU film until Deadpool 3.
I bet it has to do with Feige not being as hands on since endgame. They also keep focusing on characters nobody wants to see.
It’s everyone’s own personal opinions that matter
Great Video Cris! 👍
I’m not gonna spoil the mid credits but It was filled with excitement and confusion, leaving you with so many questions all at the same time.
Saw it. Didn't care for it.
@@Nio744what was it?
Throwing Monica Rambo in an alternate universe with her mom and beast was just a way to get people to see the movie. Oh whoops did I spoil it
@@PeenTip honestly who cares it gonna be all over the Internet anyway 🤣
Yes the sag strike is over
Watching it early tomorrow so
I can focus on Loki 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Chucky on dead by day light game come after Thanksgiving
For their final trailer, they had to use iron man/captain america footage to capture people into the trailer😭😭 Marvel is DYINGG
Them putting footage of the end credit scene is crazy and he had BLUE HANDS!!!!
Well after watching Greg from Reel Rejects review, I am generally not surprised
Just saw it and it’s top 5 worst mcu projects along with Quantumania, Black Widow, Love & Thunder, She-Hulk
Beast in the post credits x men!!
Awesome video 3c films
Eternals flopped, mostly nobody remembers Shang Chi, his merch didn't sell.
+8000lah
The reason I watched the OG MCU is that I've never been into comics it's not much of a thing where I live (I'm more into Manga)
For someone like me who isn't familiar with comics, the many takes on a story for one single character isn't easy to get into so having a straight line, clear series of movies was cool
It has begins and an end with everyone I followed, neat!
Now, aside from gready Disney executives and shareholders trying to spam us with empty productions without a story and/or message and creative takes, we also have SO MANY things to follow, it's too overwhelming and the low quality makes it hard to get through with it
The executives now it and are trying to come up with excuses saying some movies and shows are now standalone but the damage is done and many scenes already try to makes connections so how do you wanna cut them?!
Bringing back iron man and his pals also just shows we should kill this off
No reboots, just clearly stated and thought it standalones like back in the day and for those who wants it crazy, the comic books will always be there
Yea I don't care about this movie, but imma gonna see it cause it's free for me and I like Monica character, so I'm going go support her, plus it's Thursday and I wanna see a movie😂😂😂
YESSS YEESSS, DOUBLE UPLOAD IMA BOUT TO BUSSSS
SAG-AFTRA actors’ union reaches tentative labor agreement with Hollywood studios🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I for the longest time was hoping people would change their minds once they watch the movie, since nobody is expecting anything about it, once it shows up to be at least a good movie people might actually like it.
I still hope I'm right

I wonder how much marvel paid off new rockstars for their movie review 😂😂😂😭😭🤣🤣🤣 you and the cinema guys’ review are very similar

@@kicknowledgesmith8608 I don’t think it’s just that. They seemed truly annoyed and disappointed with the film.
Yo end credits is the best finally we get a OG return of a X-Men and the young avengers about to start recruiting
@@Nio744 I don't mind that actually I love that they have beast working with the illuminate version of Monica Rambos character I another universe because they already Said in Deadpool 3 some original Xmen members will make a appearance and Hugh Jackman and Toby Mcguire will be leaders of a team in another universe
I'll wait for the audience score., Mario critics score was low too!
I kind of expected it to be very mixed. Besides that, can’t wait for your Chucky gameplay stream. I love Dead By Daylight!
I’ll take things I would rather do than watch the marvels for 100
I've seen the second Doctor Strange without seeing Wandavision and I was indeed so confused lol
The actor strike is over!!!!
Great movie I enjoyed it.
Hey Chris where did you get those black shelves with the lights ? Can you link it plz ? 🙏🙏
I miss your funny memes before the video started you always made some great toby ones
I think they need to find directors and writers who care and give us a reason to care about the characters. This director left production to start another project. That's pretty bad.
Still very excited to watch it in IMAX tomorrow! I’m sure the audience score will be a lot higher than the critics 💯
Me too!
Im going watch it tomorrow
Every empire falls and the mcu is no different. Maybe they should try putting a chick in it and make her gay
I’ll watch it on the streaming service for the kitty cat
Don't do that. Just pirate it instead. At least then they don't get any money.
Don't care what those haters say or think. I'm going to watch it tonight and I'm going to enjoy it and say it's great, just like the other people who agree that this is a good movie. Glad that Marvel is still doing better than ever
But 3c u r a handsome RUclipsr tho!
Can’t wait to watch it tomorrow!
Marvels going down because their “Quantity or Quality” mindset…It feels like they push out so many projects now and only a few being decent we’re all getting warn out from it man…and they don’t seem to get it anymore the movies don’t have the same magic they use to have and it sucks
is anyone really surprised? It’d be more shocking if this movie was good 🤣
The score just keeps going up
No way they beating winter soldier or shung chi on fight scenes.
Also captain marvel was a b - movie
With nostalgic fun, comedy and action.
I doubt it will be better, seems like villian will suck,
Also I couldn’t get into ms marvel.
We’ll see when I see it
actually almost sixty percent is pretty good, I was pretty happy to get that in just about any subject:)
Lmao no one needs to watch Secret Invasion. It was more painful to watch than Bucky and Falcon.
Wasn’t shocked that it would get mid reviews, watching it tomorrow so probably gonna have fun
Can’t believe I’m saying this but the marvels was the best film Marvel has released since endgame 😱
WHAT!!😱 I’m so shocked
Unfortunately I saw post credit scene on X… I hate twitter sm… but WOW I AM HAPPY WITH IT
6:54 GOD DAMN the man filmspeak just went in on it 💀
I love how Iman is praised in the negative reviews
I don’t go to the theater unless it’s 90% or better. Idk how you spend your time and money.
The marvels and the exorcist believer got something in common lmao 🤣
I’m actually looking forward to the movie, and even though I’m not a fan of the direction the MCU as a whole is going, I still really want to check this one out. I understand this movie might not be for everyone, but that doesn’t mean you have to spread more hate.
It’s because all of the Og characters are leaving and Marvel turns them into female counterparts which doesn’t appeal to men. What man would see marvels
Hey, at least Kelsey Grammers there.
Iman & Mckenna Grace should teamup in a movie sometime. They both do a GREAT job heavy-lifting for their respective films. 😙💗🇵🇭
This handsome guy is the best RUclipsr
It sounds like this movie completely contradicts the ending of secret invasion
I'm gonna watch it on Tuesday 🤩
As someone who’s watched it, I personally thought it was a bad movie but very fun and action-packed and the cgi looks genuinely really good at times. Kamala Khan shines as Ms Marvel + the end credit scene is amazing so try to avoid spoilers for it.
I don’t see what the big deal is. Marvel literally make a five-minute shorts series explaining everything you need to know before each movie, it’s called Marvel Studios Legends and it’s really useful going into movies like this!
I honestly don’t care, still gonna watch it this week🤩, let the children get mad.
Just watch the post credit scene thats the only highlight from this film
You work for Rotten Tomatoes, though.😂😂😂 But and all is a movie lover. I was the only place I go to find about what movies are coming. This is my go to.
