Wait…are you just me from the future and this is how you’re warning me?! I get it, space time continuum and all that so you can’t say butttttttt I think I’m picking up what you’re putting down
Been creepin on ur channel for a bit. Great stuff man. Yeah…the storage aspect IS a problem. During the pandemic I got hardcore back into games. Boardgames particularly. But now…four bookcases full later (AND having to store stuff at a friends house)…unless we live in mansions we HAVE to make a conscious effort to be more discerning. I literally have more games than I could play in my lifetime. AND I buy records too so that’s a whole other problem. PLUS junk in ur house also weighs on your mind with clutter! I think we Americans like to consumer to fill a whole (but damn do I love dungeon crawlers). I agree it’s a problem, I think one-in-one-out rule has to start applying. Plus, I’d rather play games than curate a stupid collection. Again, love ur channel bro. Be cool to play some Cursed City w/ ya! Aces yo!
Very well said! I’ve been getting rid of a lot of big stuff lately so that has definitely helped balance things out. Glad you’re enjoying the content! Warhammer quest?!?!
I read your description of your house, your clutter, your bookcases, lack of storage, multiple hobbies. I have just one question, Why are you living in my House!!!???
Four Kallax bookshelves, and I could easily fill 3 more... I don't want to count how many pdf's I have. It's nuts... Must give away crap somehow... The gaming hobby has mostly become acquire rpg rules, scenario books, board games, miniature war games, read them, repeat death spiral. I've went through the cycle of ALL in on pdf's, and now I've swung way back. Just having the books is sooo much better. I love being able to browse the shelves and flip through the books for ideas, etc.. I'm 50 now and I've begun measuring my lifespan in how many games I own am I ever likely to play before I die. :) So how do I decide... ya, not very well. I try to only purchase books that are something special in terms of layout and design (Looking at you Free League books). I absolutely think any core book has to be physical (though a pdf version is nice to have too (when you travel and don't want to carry 500lbs of books). Scenarios and support books I "try" to go pdf with, but I'm also not very good with that. A bit better for speculative buys, vs omg I must get all of the One Ring/Star Wars (i have most of every edition/ruleset ever made)/Dune/Star Trek/etc rpg books. I'm not a hoarder, I'm just not really good at cleaning up and getting rid of things...
Very well said and this feels like my future. Like any hobby, of course you want to get fully engrossed in it if it’s something you really enjoy. Even some books that are not my favorite, I found myself looking through their monster manuals for inspiration and just enjoying the process for what it is. There really is something special about picking up a book and looking through it in a chill environment.
I'm trying to play a game in a pdf right now. So freaking annoying. It's not linked. 5 minutes into the game and already putting it away and waiting for the physical books to get here. Ugh, dont even get me started on my board game problem!
Yeaaa I’m not exactly sure when I got like this but I used to love collecting pdf’s and appreciating how they save space. I think having a kid really made me appreciate peace which changed the hobby for me. I literally stared at my boardgames right after making this video lmao
10:40 I lost the battle long ago, 50 years later getting games, RPGs, models, minis, I still wanna get the new stuff!

ITS NEVER ENOUGH
I feel like Galactus just endlessly absorbing worlds with an apetite that cannot be satiated. Its a problem lol

Nothing wrong with being a book dragon
@@savisaurous tell my shelves and wallet that! 😅
Are you me?
I also love the physical books!
I love the analog hobby too but the storage 😢!
I try to get only books that fit my standard for awesome books: (mostly) A5, index, ribbon (the more the better), stitch-bound...
But I gave in to TBE and Pirate Borg: DAtD
And so many KS 😢
