Finally, a review for this product that is both accurate and informative. You just saved hundreds of beginner hobbyists. I appreciate all you do, Chief. Btw, congrats on 50k subs!
Thank you so much! Yes I get so many questions about this and hope not only show what’s bad but how to fix it for the time being that way it’s functional as you save for upgrades.
I agree 100 percent on the lid. I will be replacing mine . But the carpet has been a non issue at all. He moves all over tank. I do have other logs in there too. We also keep his nails trimmed and I’m sure that helps. We also take him out a lot. I also agree with the t5 light fixture. Now we got this for Christmas at $129 for my 10 year old son and with the upgrades makes a great deal ! He is healthy happy and looks great. So if you can get this for a good deal it’s definitely worth it! Great info and review as always !
Instead of replacing the screen, I removed the feeding door on top and reversed the screen so that spot is open in the back left of the tank. Perfect for the UVB bulb to hit our raised basking spot with no deflection from the screen.
Hey Chief! Just wanted to tell you I love your videos, and hope others find them when getting their dragons. I just got mine a few days ago, they're a baby (dont know how to tell the gender yet lol), and i managed to find a solarmeter 6.5 from someone that was selling it because they had to get rid of their dragon. I also just had my UVB tube light come in today. It was supposed to come the day i got the dragon, but it didnt. So i was forced to use a coil bulb for the first day or so. The solar meter read 0.2 UVB from it... Now with the tube light it is giving off 2.9 - 3.8 on his basking spot. Your videos have helped me TONS, and i will recommend them to everyone I can :)
Hello! Happy that I can help! That’s awesome to hear! Yeah those coil UVBs are very weak that’s awesome you got a solarmeter! The best tool in a reptile keepers arsenal
@@ChiefSweetsUniverse Alright, I'll be looking forward to it! If it's a boy, I'll name him Kratos, if a girl, Pandora. Names based off my favorite video game, plus I wanted strong, unique Greek names, so it fit perfectly!
Thank you for your video! I had no idea about the screen on these tanks and have had my tank for a month 1/2 or so now. I just replaced the screen top yesterday after seeing this video. Want to ensure my Beardie gal is getting all the UVB and etc. she needs! ♥ Already upgraded her to a t5 a few weeks ago or so now from a t8. She is thriving and doing well. ♥ Just want to ensure the best for my Beardie! ♥Going to upgrade her to a 120 gal (4x2x2) when she is fully grown in about a year.
Our Petsmart sold this 40 gallon starter kit for 100 dollars, which I felt was well worth it. Weeks later I saw your video and got the better screen for only 18 bucks. I think this was a steal myself, lol. However, I really like the original screen so I'm keeping it until I can figure out exactly how to modify it so that it doesn't block any light/heat whatsoever.
Yeah it is a good deal for sure the major problem is the screen which actually can be modified. If you turn it upside down it has screw brackets you unscrew that the screen comes out and I use hardware cloth 1/4 inch and replace it.
@@rgray318 at Home Depot and garden centers that’s what they call the screen. But it’s just screen with bigger holes. It’ll be one fourth inches big hole wise in the screen
Yeah I figured it out right after you mentioned it, thanks to Google. I worked with it for some years back in the day with my parents rabbits. Is it strong enough to hold the lights?
Hey can you give me some advice on having a breaded dragon for a classroom pet. Like should I have the same exact thing in the tank at home and at school etc.
I've been keeping my bearded dragon on a shelf liner. I was constantly warned of impaction. He is in a 4x2x2. Do you recommend switching to a substrate?
Have you tested the UVB levels on the arcadia lumenize pro t5 12% UVB D3+ kit? If so, is it as strong as the regular pro T5 12% kit when at 100% brightness?
I watch your vids and I don’t think my beardie would have survived if it wasn’t for all of your helpful content. Thank you so much for the help! Everyone, plz subscribe 👍
Do you think you can do a video on seizures in bearded dragons and what the causes are, because it's hard to explain to people when they ask. I try to help as many people as possible, but some just think that I'm crazy when explaining to them the reasons and what they need to do and change. Also people don't Listen when you say to take them to a vet. They think they know better. Videos help to show them that what I'm saying is facts and not just stories
Thanks, will really appreciate it, if you can teach more on the difference and similarities of ADV and MBD and common causes, I would've loved to make videos about beardies, but I don't have a voice everyone would find likable. I annoy myself sometimes 😒
Ngl, you need to sell your own kit, like the exact things you need for some reptiles all in one bundle instead of having all of the items listed from different websites like Amazon the. To Walmart (just an example)
I have really been thinking about it not only that but just starting my own brand that sells stuff that actually works well and helps new keepers. You are saying what I’ve been thinking hard about lately 😂
Haha my wife didn’t either but my daughter did crave ice and wanted to eat it like crazy and turns out that’s an iron deficiency. Can be many different things haha

Yeah the tank itself is a well built glass tank just the lid is an issue so if you got it on sale not a bad deal. Just have to replace a few things
Ive been missing your videos.Glad your back🔥

How has that been for you? I’m taking mine apart to replace the screen with chicken wire
?
What about using hardware cloth for the screen?
It’s great to see a new upload! I’m a new reptile keeper and your videos are always very informative and entertaining. Keep them coming please!

Heh heh I bought this tank and came home to the video where you talked about fixing it. Thank god it wasn’t a throw away
Yeah you can definitely fix it the tank itself is great just the screen
These videos are just the best
Thank you!
I have one of those. I didn’t know that about the screen 😲
Yeah not many do that’s why I thought I should make this video. Hope it helped
What berded dragon starter kits do you reccomend
Yes, my wife when pregnant constantly ate chalk and drywall. Totally accurate!
Haha hey just what they say when you have deficiencies. Crazy example I know but people do crave wild stuff.
Hey can you give me some advice on having a breaded dragon for a classroom pet. Like should I have the same exact thing in the tank at home and at school etc.
If it’s just a a short term at home then a simple tank will do. But long term that’s when you want the forever tank
"Screen blocks 65% of UVB"
Leopard gecko owners: Move the basking spot 2 inches up 🗿
Oh good idea I need to make a video about this for leopard gecko owners as I know lots get this for them
How much does it weigh?
I've been keeping my bearded dragon on a shelf liner. I was constantly warned of impaction. He is in a 4x2x2. Do you recommend switching to a substrate?
Oh yeah it’s great! Impaction isn’t a result of substrate it’s the result of improper temps dehydration and inadequate uvb.
@@ChiefSweetsUniverse bioactive is pretty hard with the dryer climate, right?
Is the 23 w good

Yes at 100% power it’s the same levels as the regular pro t5

$130 right now. Can't tell me it's not a fantastic deal and starting point, even if you throw half of the shit out.
