So if by “loyalty” he means “obedient,” then what frustrates me the most is that it’s not even true that Robyn is obedient to him! The alleged “conflict” they had about buying the house vs. renting was NOT an example of obedience. If they want us to believe that was real, then he can’t keep calling her loyal. Also there’s an episode where Kody and Christine are in a couples therapy session and she shares how surprised she was to see that “Robyn immediately had a voice in the relationship” to disagree with him. It shocked her to see that Robyn could disagree and he would love her anyway. It’s so sad to think she had never been loved that way, nor had she seen Janelle or Meri loved that way either. He obviously had different standards for them - They have to fall perfectly in lock-step with him in order to be treated well, while Robyn can be considered loyal without being truly obedient because she is favored. It’s gross that he behaved that way at all, disgusting that he won’t admit it and apologize, and SO FRUSTRATING that he expects the audience to be so dumb that we won’t see the differences.
I’ll admit it. I never want to hear Kody use the word loyalty or any form of it ever again. Or obedience. Why is he so hung up on that if he’s no longer in the AUB?

THANK YOU!! That was my question you answered. I feel so relieved to hear someone validate what I was picking up from the show. Due to my past membership in a fundamental church I’ve often recognized a “language/cultural gap” between what the Browns sometimes say and what people hear. I knew that the word “loyalty” meant more than what folks think. It makes my stomach hurt a little to admit that I was part of a church that had me believe I was lesser than because I’m female. Being in that church kept me in an abusive marriage for nearly six years! Thankfully I got divorced and I left the church too. I find it embarrassing to admit that.

Do you think Kody's list to Meri included "filing for their divorce?" It seems to me he framed it as a "test" for continue their relationship. Once he got the divorce, he no longer needed Meri.
I have no idea. I could see it being framed more along the line of a question like “what are you willing to do for your sister wife to show you are loyal to her & the family?” “ what ultimate sacrifice are you willing to give?” Those types of questions to set up expectations of Meri’s behavior Questions along that that line?
All 3 original wives are gone and have moved on with their lives. I find it ridiculous at best hearing Robyn even suggesting the possibility that he might be able too get Janelle back into the polygamy marriage situation. Obviously Christine and Meri aren’t options now. But Robyn even discussing Kody trying to get Janelle back at this point is absurd. Point is, it’s just absurd to me that Robyn isn’t moving on. Or is doing this strictly for tv drama. Seriously at this point in time. Kody and Robyn having any discussions about any of the OG3’s past or present is complete nonsense! It isn’t as tho they’re discussing current and real major issues going on. Like the property and they’re ripping off Meri and Janelle. Or the 2 million dollar house they just bought. And what’s with Robyn getting her name on each piece of property belonging to the OG’s? Honestly there are many things that lack reason or logic. Certainly necessity wise. Imo, Robyn’s goal on the show is to improve her public image. Kody isn’t even worth the words.

She had a headstart practicing appropriating the funds when in the beginning she asked who she should give her bills to, or where she should put them.
Meri was very “obedient.”
