I honeslty believe a BIG reason Robyns girls are “behind” is bc how Robyn treats them and raised them. She has kept those girls as close to her as possible for years! They werent around the other kids when they got older so its like their maturing stopped bc Robyn “babies” them so badly
I remember that, on their first (recorded) Family Camping Trip with 4 wives, it took Meri and Robyn ages to do their make up because they acted like giggly teenagers. The bigger kids (especially the Boys) were so annoyed by that and Christine and Janelle did they best to keep them calm. "Why do they wear make up? We're camping!"
When Meri and you get together, it would be fantastic if you know of an attorney to mention to her. I want so much for Janelle and Meri to recover their money from that property. It’s going to take a good attorney to help them.
I think your read on K&R re: their religious indoctrination is absolutely spot on. I grew up non-Mormon, just mainstream Christian and I remember similar teachings about disabled people. They're really ableist. I didn't know you all were doing a live with James. I love James too. Definitely gonna need to check that out.
Missed you live but always catch you later! I’m in Michigan… we are getting snow now … but not a lot.. maybe 2 to 4 in. Love your channel! You two are so authentic and honest !!
I wish you well with the smoke coming your way. I am in Central New York and we had smoke from the Canadian fires last year. It was horrible. The sky was orange. No open windows and no air conditioning and the weather was warm.
My assumption is that Robyn and Kody speak to their children about how awful the outside world is and how mean people are regarding the Browns and it makes the kids fearful to do anything independently.
I don’t think it’s working that well, tho, cuz Dayton has had a successful secular university education and Aurora and Breanna are involved in a non-LDS church and also attending secular college. I’m hopeful that all their kids will break free of their control.
Thanks so much Cory, Mel and Mom. I ended up around 20 mins behind as my doggo thinks she's the official timekeeper of when the bedtime pee is so I had to pause but so glad I caught yous live for a bit. 💜
As much as I enjoy the sister Wives commentary, I really really would love to hear about your own experiences being raised in polygamy. Looking forward to hear more about that.
Thank you for mentioning the T-shirts under the spaghetti strat tops. That was a look that doesn’t need to return, lol. Those ladies all looked as comfortable as a cat who’s been dressed up in baby clothes, by a 6 year old. 😂 And yeah, it’s very interesting that R didn’t wear garments until she was on TV. I know that she comes off as devout, but I’m not convinced. If she was living in fear of eternal punishment, or even eternal lack lustreness, I think she would a) have gone to church regularly (instead of never in the past 13 years!), b) follow some of the religion’s mundane rules (like garments), c) raise her kids to respect the religion, d) leave K for a man who wants plural marriage, ie., choose the devout path over riches, and e) advocate for ending the show since that’s what the AUB asked for.
That spaghetti strap top look was truly something else 😂 Robin would have started wearing garments when she got married to Kody not before then. You only wear garments once you’ve gone through the temple process.
Kids excited to get a “snow day” tomorrow (Fri.) in N. GA! ❄️ lol you’re going on a trip together & talk about how much each child would love different things you’re enjoying! Know this isn’t related to show.. just enjoy watching y’all & listening to your story, I think we can all relate in some ways Re: the way we grew up. Thank you for sharing what really goes on & I think you’re both so brave to come out of cult & especially share your stories! Most of us were taught not to share things that went on in our homes. No matter what church you went to. I wasn’t allowed to wear pants or cut my hair & I grew in a missionary Baptist church.
Robyn’s dream of sister wives on the porch on rocking chairs in their golden years always confounds me. I am fairly certain when Kody’s father passed away, his mom and Janelle’s mom probably didn’t live together or even hang out regularly.
There will be sister wives sitting on the porch together. Christine and Janelle will most likely sit on a porch together and watch their grandkids and kids. David will join and I hope Janelle finds someone that would be good to her. I also hope that Meri drops the "It's me against them" attitude and can enjoy the children she helped raised.
All you have to do is look at the family and you can see the difference between a strong, straightforward personality and a mean girl personality. With Mary as the “head” wife, the family seemed to be doing as well as any plural family could vs Robyn, and a family that broke down more with every bit of influence she gained.
Yes. I mean it still wasn’t great under Meri, cuz the wives were tryna placate a husband with narcissistic traits, and the kids were living under the roof of a father that doles out transactional love, but yeah, Meri probably did the best that anyone could.
I am interested in how family planning is addressed in polygamy and polygamous relationship. Is it completely against the religion to use contraception and so women just have babies until they no longer are able to? Do private conversations take place between each sister wife and the husband about how they chose to address family planning?
Each family is different for sure. For myself I just had my first two babies “at the Lords will” I was 17 & 19. After my second baby there was no way I could handle having another baby. My ex husband was determined to get a second wife and in full gear courting. I had to learn natural births control methods to not get pregnant. It helped that we weren’t intimate often either. You are correct that contraception in not allowed.
Right!?! It sounded authentic when Christine talked about it in season 15 or 16 and now we have corroboration from Mel!! It’s disappointing that Meri and Janelle didn’t back C up. Janelle can be so wishy washy and Meri can be absolutely ambivalent.
@@muriel5826Meri didn’t think it was a thing in my opinion because her mom was the favorite so she never experienced it. Janelle wasn’t raise in the religion so she wasn’t as familiar either.
With getting into the Celestial Kingdom - isn't Christine being remarried, doesn't that mean she is no longer sealed to Kody - which means there is only 2 wives for Kody - Janelle and Robyn?
No not necessarily. Kody losing a wife unrighteously by abandoning her makes him lose the other two wives as well. At least this is what I was taught. Once one of the sealing are broken they are all broken if the man was the reason.
I want Cory to explain the young men and their roles as they grow up, when you were chopping wood did you get paid or was it just required of you to help take care of others families? What about dating and marriage do the young boys get married young like the girls? When you marry do you stay in your dad’s house? Are there any younger ladies for you to marry? Ect…….
I like James and Ive been watching his videos for awhile now. Both him and Reality Squad but they tend to be super harsh on Meri and that bothers me. I wish they would be easier on that woman.

I’ve often wondered how the church, in general, feels about women getting college educated and beyond. Such as, women doctors or scientists. I don’t think I’ve ever heard any disapproval on the show.
I’ve never heard disapproval from most of the leaders. Some individual men didn’t like it. There were strong opinions about women’s roles. My ex did not want me educated at all. My dad however didn’t care one way or the other.
