Alfa Romeo CEO Said He Doesn’t Sell an iPad With a Car Around it, what's why interior quite basic, without fancy screens, but from the patrolhead perspective, first time you drive even the base Giulia, you fall in love with the sensation of driving dynamics. It is super rare, these days were the car is made for driving pleasure.

Yes Imparato said that but this car is from 2016, he enter Alfa last year and is referring future products that are being developed now.
This model was to compete with the models existing in the market in the first half last decade, since then most of competitors already launched new models and new "iPADs" and LED strips inside and this is what the press love talk and write. For me screens is the dashboard is the last stupidity they are forcing is the industry, the ancient mechanic and sculpture dashboards like what we see is this car is the best thing we have but its almost extincted.
Big screens + more resolution = better quality but when we are in a car what really matter is how it performs in movement.

    • @mantasvilimas6588
      @mantasvilimas6588 Год назад +2

@@carlosgilpinheiro7510 I agree that nice resolution screen is good addon for the whole feel, but for me, I am glad that Alfa Romeo invested money to the suspension and drivability, than to the fancy screens. Fancy screens, but poor handling, wouldn't be a true Alfa and they needed to save money somewhere. In my case, only necessary thing in the car is Android Auto / Apple Car play - if it works, that's more than enough.

@Tristan Marguier Unfortunately you have absolutely no idea about cars. 2 years ago I bought this dream car. I thought it was beautiful and also thought that there could be nothing. At first I was a little disappointed with the quality of the interior, but hey, it's all about the driving pleasure. Yes, I ran the vehicle in for the first 500km, not more than 3,000 revolutions or 120kmh, and also let the engine run for 2 minutes before each trip. From 2000km the problems started, terrible car, not reliable. At first glance 10/10 but once you get it it's a lousy car.

Alfa's reliability and interior is way better than the German competition, the reputation for having bad reliability came from some car magazines which didn't know what they were talking about! Alfas always had nice interiors, look at the 166, 156, etc., in the past, especially the seats!

I love my Quadrifoglio. I’ve owned many performance cars, and the Quadrifoglio just feels so much lighter than the performance saloons I’ve owned previously. The thin steering wheel, direct steering, and playfulness with the throttle and chassis reminds me of the McLaren 570S. The reliability comment is an interesting one as mine has been 100% reliable, likewise with those who I know who have owned one. In fact the reliability was the only concern for me when I initially thought of buying one but some research on the forums confirmed they are pretty reliable cars. It’s definitely been more reliable than my AMG before it, and the M cars I’ve had before that. If you’re considering buying one then you should as it’s definitely a future classic. I usually buy a new car every year, but honestly I’m thinking of keeping this long term and once out of warranty turning it into some sort of GTA-M/track car beast, it’s that good.

  • @pentegal

Great video as always. However, it's frustrating that people keep spouting about the reliability of the Giulia. All the comments I've seen since it launched have been extremely positive and, myself, had one for 3 years without a single issue. I had a Giulia Veloce for 2 years before that too with the only issue being a squeak in the steering wheel which the garage took care of in 15 minutes. The Giulia and Stelvio were created on a completely new Girgio platform and looks like they took care of the massive majority of reliability concerns, it would be nice for this to be recognised rather than the age old 'Alfa reliability' comment being tossed about.

    • @karlos1060

It's always the people that own no Alfa that say Alfa is bad. If you have an Andi, BMW it's normal to spend 10K or more on a new engine and nobody says anything about it. But if you spend 500€ on an Alfa it's the end of the world. It's mainly just opinions from people that don't know what they are talking about. I owned many Alfa's in my life and they have been more reliable then any other car i had. And i drove a lot of other big brands.

I love my 2021 Quadrifoglio with carbon buckets and carbon roof in competizione rosso. The interior quality increased substantially compared to the previous version. The infotainment is still crappy, but the rest makes up for it. It is such a beauty and on 13,000 km, I did not have any reliability issues. The engine has a lot of midrange power, the sound is amazing, the ZF gearbox works well (smooth in N, fast in D and R) and the steering is one of the best on the market. Whats sucks is the torque limiter in the first 5 gears and the ESP, which is a buzz kill, unless you drive in R mode. But again, if you enter into your garage and you see this beauty of a car, you don‘t think about the smaller stuff. 😍

Honestly, a person who talks about the Giulia saying that it has ugly interiors or that the map is ugly, but does not speak of the 11.8:1 steering ratio (similar to that of the 488 italia) or of the carbon drive shaft does not understand anything cars(steering and shaft which is also the same on common versions such as diesel or 2.0t). Not to mention that it has remained at the rumors of the 80s on reliability, when a Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde gives fewer problems than many AMGs or Ms

In fact I have the same car: model 2017 with automatic gearbox, sparco carbon sports seats (and carbon ceramic brakes) and ... also tuned by Squadra tuning. I have now driven 48,000 km and have only had to have a free software update performed for the fuel pump. That is really the only mechanical weak point, which has been solved on more recent models. All other problems that Q owners sometimes encounter are usually caused by the battery, which is BTW… German made. Since I don't drive my Q every day, it is for that reason constantly on a trickle charger. As far as the interior is concerned, everything is not too bad. Only the gear lever feels cheap (solved from model year 2020) and I subsequently had the plastic underside of the doors and dashboard (also the case on the German competition) covered with extra leather and Alcantara. What I find really incomprehensible is that Alfa Romeo provides the front splitter and side skirts with carbon fiber as standard, but the diffuser, which is visually the most striking, is made of plastic and that Alfa Romeo does not even offer the option of carbon fiber. Fortunately, this diffuser, like many parts for both interior and exterior, can be found in carbon fiber on the after market. But what really makes this car so good is the incredibly successful balance between comfort, performance and driving pleasure. Even after installing 2 cm shorter ST KW springs and 20-inch rims with ultra-flat low profile tires, the comfort is still quite good, while the road holding is phenomenal. The Q's turn-in is also incredible, sometimes a little too light on fast, winding Autobahn rides (in the Alps). Because the ST springs, like the standard springs, are fairly soft, there is an annoying pumping effect on the front axle every time you drive over a speed bump or pothole. However, that problem is as good as solved after the installation of the GTA(m) software by Squadra Tuning in the Netherlands. For older models (I thought from MY 2019 onwards) you must have a more recent version of the CDCM (suspension ECU). In addition, Squadra tuning has also implemented the interventions discussed in this video. Especially the removal of all limitations in terms of (the further increased) power and torque in the first gears in Dynamic is a relief. Definitely recommended!

The new cars do not have the same geometry or steering rack because people complained about ackerman noise in parking lots. if you know cars you know the differences immediately after minutes behind the wheel and they are completely different machines. driving these cars and owning them for 4+ years spending hours each day is very different to feel the differences between both variants.

An Alfa Romeo with an Alpha Tauri wrap? Okaaay. I guess you haven't watched the countless reviews over the last 6 years that mention the active front splitter.

Stacking giant ipad in centre of console is not style, neither quality. Same goes for fugly beaver face and 10 times oversized grill. Or vacuum sound. I am speaking of bmw, for sure. Giulia outrun others on Nurburgring and still outhandle competition. It might not be perfected but it has sould and style with some serious performance which can’t be reached by competition. Also, interior is nice place tobe and screen with newer Ui is incorporated beautifully, super intuitive to use. It stylish, without screaming. And you know what? It has working turning signals on all models, something BMW lack at all.

Where is the data about reliability? or build quality. When we check last C class interior and the real quality of the materials for example all we got in the germans is reputation constructed in the past and a lot of that fab by the press.
