September 20, 2022 That was awesome of him to talk to the youth about tour life , Mental Health awareness and suicide prevention.. 🙏🏽 stay blessed Brian “Head” Welch.. 🖤
I live in Bakersfield and I'm a server at a restaurant and I've had the chance to meet him a couple times and if you don't know who he was he wouldn't tell you. I mean this in the best way possible he is so down to earth and chill. Completely humble and all around great
Dude, I love Korn and Head was so cool to do that. I've seen him always do great things, as he's a blessing to the people he knows, plus all that know his his story or even within his path. 🙏🏻God bless you Brian "Head" Welch!
Love Brian, Fieldy, Jonathan all of them. My uncle guppie used to rock with those guys back in the day in my hometown of Bakersfield (where Korn started)and he still kicks it with them.
He sure is a cool guy. I met him one time, and he hugged me. Then told me it was good to see me, as if we were old friends. SUPER AWESOME GUY! Can't wait to meet him again at the crossing church
I still remember the day my brother gave me the korn Cd..I heard the opening riff..it caught my attention..then Jonathan screams..ARE YOU READY..fan ever since...day 1
They came to ours too. Great performance, setlist, the Guitarist they had was this really young kid out of high school that seemed to be living the dream. What was sad though was the day prior. Brian and the band did an assembly and one of the focal points was drug use and addiction and him escaping the clutches of its oppressive nature. Before the assembly began though the majority of us noticed Brian Slumped really low in his chair. He walked out of the back door of the gym for a moment and could be seen keeling over (we assumed he was vomiting) as the door was closing. When he came in to do his speech, he seemed completely out of it, uninterested, depressed, and just... on something. I still don't know if he was actually on anything, nor does anyone else, but as a person who grew up with people like that it was really sad to see someone that I looked up to as a kid fall back into such a self destructive path. Especially on a tour that was focused towards schools and teaching youth about the dangers of substance abuse. It could've been fatigue, it could've been a hangover from alcohol, it could've been something else. But it was pretty clear it was something heavier. I hope he's doing better. And I really hope that kid playing guitar didn't pick up any bad habits or influences along the way. Don't do drugs, kids. And stay in school. (Edit: I don't know if this is a current tour or not. He came to my school years ago, like 2012ish era.)
This is life. My very first big show was the first Family Values tour... Cow Palace in SF when I was like 15. My MOM drove us there. Now my 15 year old son is begging to to go the festival in Vegas. Time moves fast kids. Enjoy yourselves ❤️
It’s amazing that they got head to go to that school, but can we not shout out to those kids that freaking rocked?? The stage presence, those headbangs, so amazing!!!
Backersfield !!! I moved to Az still have family there !!!! Jonathan your Dad Scott went to school with my Mom and my grandma was lunch lady for kern county Shackelford is my family name...we went to elementary together you and I lol small world!!! I love you guys !!! I have seen ya all like 5 times !! Now ya all getting me through some serious emotional stuff with my medical ....I need a lung transplant .,..just beat thyroid cancer....ya all rock!! Just listening to ya all gets me through !!!!
Even more amazing than Brian Welch coming to this school is how many metal heads seem to be among the students. Awesome.
It’s just them getting into the spirit of the style of music. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re privy to it.
Seriously why couldn't I go to school there???

Those were the parents fool lol
I love that Korn's early work is still relevant to a new generation. And Brian is awesome for doing that

This is something that would when I would miss school
It is, only that time was special
I would consider suicide. Honestly, I wouldn't do it, but that would be the worst thing that could happen. I would rather pay a million or two.
Such a simple act that probably had a major impact on those kids lives, and not about music but of kindness and love for others.
I bet the kids in that band are now motivated af to keep on playing music
X yes indeed x

One of the most iconic riffs.
It's the "Smoke on the Water" of nu metal.
