I would seriously sue the person who knowingly put them goats up for auction and it’s also the auctioneers responsibility to make sure these animals are healthy!!!
Shouldn't the department of health be able to get with the auctioneer and track down the person who sold them.
I wish that was the case but a lot of sick, abuse and mistreated animals go thru the auctions .. we need better laws that protect the animals and buyers at the auctions or at least accountability.

There was one that the owner tried to geld and they botched it and the horses intestines was hanging out and they run it through the auction ring.. it was heartbreaking to watch
No not all auctions there's an auction in Tennessee that they run a gelding through the ring with its intestines hanging out go watch the horse plus rescue they did a video on it and just go look at some of the horses that they get at auction mistreated starved broken legs it's sad. There needs to be better laws to protect the animals rights

The horse didn’t go through the auction that way. The person that bought a horse at that auction did the procedure after they bought him. There at the auction place. When they butchered him they then went over to horse plus and asked them to help it. Or should I say buy it to help it. But yes they definitely need better laws it’s ridiculous the way they will sale animals at some auctions. People should be ashamed of there care and should give them to rescue. To think of the kind of person or situation that would put those horses in the shape they sale them is very sad. Thank the LORD for horse plus. I think they r going to make things happen through action and awareness.

Contact auction house for records of who the seller was and ban them from bringing any more animals to the sale.
I agree, they need to be held accountable for potentially spreading this disease..
I think they also need to contact the auction house simply because the goats he bought they were already infected when they were there. Which means there is a good probability that they also infected other animals at the sales barn. So others who bought from that auction might also have infected animals. And I agree that the auction house should ban the sellers of those infected animals not only because of the fact they brought infected animals,but also because the Auction house could be seriously impacted financially if other people were also sold infected animals.

So sorry for the loss of Oreo. Losing them from natural causes is bad enough but to intentionally poison someone’s pet is truly disgusting! 😢😢

I am so sorry both goats had to be put down. I can't imagine how hard it was for you to do what you had to. I thought the crew at the auctions tested the animals before putting them up for sell. Butters and Oreo are having a good time in Heaven and are healthy. Love and hugs as always.
When I watched Tom Pemberton’s video about TB in his herd, I had recently watched All Creatures Great and Small and the episode about TB and how devastating it was for farmers to have to cull their herd and lose income . For you and Rae, having to cull your 2 goats was a sad necessity to protect your new property and herd of animals.

That auction house has the name of who ever brought those goats in. I worked at a livestock auction and we had to keep records for 7 years per government regulation. That being said, as hard as it is, you did the right thing to protect the rest of the herd. So sorry for your loss though.

I was one of the ones who asked bout them. I am so sorry about Oreo and Butters. That had to be so difficult for you and Rae. I am in tears and I only knew them from watching you (and I loved them) . I can't even imagine how the two of you must be feeling. You are all in my deepest prayers.
I'm so so sorry for your loss, she was one of my favorites, so pretty, and she kept giving Chad poison ivy, which was pretty funny, since he obviously didn't learn after the first time. She will be missed, I was wondering where she and butters were. Who ever did this should be drawn and quartered, so uncalled for. She was such a sweet and gentle goat, so friendly.

Sadly there are people that care more about money than doing what is right. You did the best thing that you could for your animals. You didn't let them suffer and you protected all of the others! I’m angry. How could someone be so cruel for the almighty dollar. That auction house should be shut down. It is most likely contaminated wherever the sick goats were. I don't cry easily, but this news about Oreo and Butters has me choked up and teary. Oreo was my favorite of all the goats. So friendly, affectionate, pretty and trusting. What a sad thing. I am so sorry for your loss. That someone would sell an animal that has the potential to cause so much harm to other animals and to someone else's entire herd is so selfish and totally heartless. I pray folks understand this is a real need. I feel for you because it’s a hard decision. Had livestock for thirty years now and fortunately never gone through it but know people that have. Once it spreads, one year really isn’t enough. The manure contaminates soil and only time passing do you have workable land again which in turn costs a family farm money. You made the correct decision. Hold Rae tight and time heals all wounds. Bless you both.

Great video, Chad. Well, aside from the hard part about Oreo & Butters. I'm so sorry you all had to go through that. Oreo was a special little goat for sure. But today, riding around with Adler, he is a character. Seeing the Turkey Vultures, the bird eggs (that was a quick glimpse, by the way), and right to the fish in your creek. The wild turkey, and of course the Cattle, pig & other critters. Thanks for taking the time to share. Love & prayers to you all ~

I know what you had to do. My dad found out our cattle had black leg and they had to be culled. And could not leave the area for fear of spread. Our animals had be minimal from that point forward. I send you prayers for continued success.😢

Easy enough to track down. Contact the auction and they will go back on there records and will give the sellers name. Just like that.

I'm more than sure whatever needs to be done, they've already handled. They do things the way they should be done 100%. I just think none of that was necessary for the video, and this was difficult enough to get through.

This news breaks my heart. I will never understand how someone could intentionally harm an animal. I am a city gal that has always had 1 or 2 house pets. Trust me, they have all lived with us as a king or queen, respectively. Watching you guys and your family, I see the same love and respect for your animals. May Oreo and butters RIP❤❤🙏

💔 Oreo was my fave of the goats. Biosecurity is a big deal - a huge responsibility. And when dealing with an infected animal the brain needs to take the lead, not the heart. I'm so sorry you all had to go through that. And thank you for waiting to tell us while you focused on your responsibilities. I'm sure that the time you took before telling us helped you to get a perspective so that you could communicate it to us in a way that is educational. Again, I'm so sorry you all had to go through that.

Several ended up with animals sold as pregnant at higher price that weren’t.
