Does selecting 'CAN Values' box mean any CAN message on the bus (even if its not from a 'VESC' ecosystem device) will be logged? Im running a non-vesc product that communicates on the same CAN bus that i would like to log as well.

What BMS are you using in the video?

Very impressive Benjamin!! What's the maximum sample rate when capturing CSV logs with VESC Express?

The log rate is limited by the CAN-speed. For example, at 500 kbaud you can send around 1000 can-frames per second. If you then have one extra vesc-based esc that sends status 1-5 at 50 Hz you have 1000 - 50*5 = 750 frames/second left. Two fields in the log require one can-frame, so if you want to log 20 values you get a maximum rate of (1000 - 50 * 5) / (20 / 2) = 75 Hz. So it all depends on what you want to log, the can baud rate and what else is on the can-bus. It is also easy to edit the log script from the package in vesc tool to log exactly what you want and with the scripting it is also possible to log different things at different rates. There is also some limit on how fast the CSV can be written to the SD-card, but I think that is much higher than the CAN speed limit.

Hello, I have a question, I have a tramp board and 2x vesc 6, if this module connects to vesca, can I use this usb-c to connect to pc with a cable or do I still have to use usb micro with vesc, and the second thing is wifi which is in the module and will be connected to vesc 6 will allow you to use vesc tools on your phone instead of bluetooth as before ??

Hello! 🙂 I connected a large VSETT display and a VESC 75100 with Bluetooth module and connected RX to Tx and Tx to Rx from the COMM cables to the VSETT display and connected the VSETT display to the 48V battery directly on continuous plus and minus so that I can use the VSETT display at any time can switch on. Ok, my problem is: I have the LISP file for (VESC and VSETT Display) and the description on github says: the VRSC must be connected to the VSETT Display and be turned on with the VSETT Display! I have connected Rx to Tx and Tx to Rc from the YCOMM connection VSETT display to VESC but when I upload the Lisp file to beta version 6.05, which also works, then in the lower field it says: Error_not bound. How should I connect the VSETT display with the VESC 75100 because the VESC does not have a power cable or a blue cable where the display on normal controllers sends a signal back from 45-50V when charged at 54.6V and thus via the blue cable turns on the controller! So PLEASE can you tell me if it only works with Rx to Tx and Tx to Rx when the VSETT display is switched on and the VESC is also switched on or do I still have to connect the display to the VESC 75100 that I have?? And if I really have to connect it, how is that supposed to work since the VESC controller doesn't have a power cable or blue cable to switch it on with the display but only a 5V connection?? What is the Lisp file (script) for uploading for VESC and VSETT Display? I just ask you for a single answer as to whether I have to additionally connect the display with VESC and how, without a power cable? That I then get the Lisp file to work and the code 10 on the display disappears and the right kmh display finally works? Ask for an answer! Kind regards.

That is pretty cool and useful!
I've used my controllers with an nRF BLE module before and then my phone as TCP point cause i wanted to use VESC Tool on PC (which doesn't have BT or WiFi inbuilt)
eliminating the need of mobile VESC Tool for that is pretty useful

Great job again Ben. If data could easily manipulate and display on Matlab or Python by using libraries would be amazing feature. Also, can we log speed data and gps location?

    Hi! Bro.
I'm using vesc tool on the android platform, but can't create an account on the homepage's website? Because the 4-letter question is about your website. It's too difficult to answer, can you help me?

Yes, I will focus on that after the VESC 6.0 release in the beginning of December.
