Update: I have changed the gain setting to become amplitude as that is much more intuitive.
Update 2: The sin/cos encoder settings are now moved to Motor Settings -> General

Thanks Benjamin! I actually have a ME1716 motor with this same exact encoder on my RC lawn mower. I am planning to use it with the VESC 75-300. I bought a hall encoder that looks like almost a drop in replacement for the SIN/COS encoder. It is RMB29EE12BS66. I haven't gotten around to installing it yet. I still have reservations about using SIN/COS. My biggest fear is that induced voltages in the sensor wires could burn out the analog inputs on the VESC. It is good to know this is an option though incase I cant get the hall encoder working. ~Mike

did you end up getting the ME1716 and VESC75_300 combo to work? I am using it for a Go-kart project but with the sin cosin encoder and it doesn't seem to work? any advice would be a great help

Thank you so much, now I can run my Heinzmann PMS 120 with vesc :)

Until you find out about the signal integrity of the encoders built into the motors…

It works great on the Sevcon, no reason it would not be workable here

@@joelschulz-andres6651 Pms has the same encoder, wich Vedder showed in the video

Thanks for your work! I am waiting on a Motenergy motor for my golf cart (ME1401?) saved this for later :)

I am using a Motenergy motor with the RMB29 encoder, according to the data sheet for the chip on the board it will work when powered by 3.3V. Doing this also lowers the analog values so you can connect them without scaling resistors. Is there any documentation on the VESC parameters and what each does? I would like to understand the parameters in general and specifically want to make sure the controller is using the Sin/Cos feedback all the time instead of switching to sensorless. Thanks.

How did you get the "sensor port mode" tab to appear under the motor>general tab? Mine only shows 2 tabs. One says "motor type" and the other says "invert motor direction".
