DO NOT take anyone else as a passenger until you can handle your bike. You need to be able to handle their additional weight, especially if they don't know how to lean with you and the bike - they will throw off your balance faster than you can re-act.
It seems crazy to me that in America, a brand new motorcycle-ist can pickup the most powerful machine on the market legally. Here in AUS, we have to take a 2 day course with theoretical and practical tests to get our learners license and are restricted to 660cc and under for 3-15 months and then we go onto restricted licenses where there's still specific rules and restrictions to be followed. I know the EU have similar rules as well.
Yes I've heard this from others in AUS and UK before, and I wish those same type of systems existed in the US, it would probably save a lot of lives. Unfortunately, like you said, a brand new rider can buy anything and go kill themselves on it, without ever even taking a training course. Thanks for the comment.
@@InstructorCory I have always said it's very scary that any one with $10,000 - $12,000 can walk into a dealer buy a motorcycle that goes 200MPH with no experience.
No 11, Practice Stopping from various speeds.👍It's just as important to be able to slow and stop the bike safely. Most times when you are out on the road just a very light touch on the brakes is enough to slow down a lot, don't be heavy handed coz you'll lock up the front wheel and skid or highside(when you get thrown over) No.12 , Think before you speak. Bleh, bleh bleh-bleh bleh farkin fark bleh-bleh 🤪🙄( it is very exciting but you wanna be cool)(it's not compulsory to talk, many people enjoy tranquility and just be, I don't have a loud exhaust and I wear knee sliders so i can bond with the road in corners😜) No 14, always wear eye protection ,spectacles or goggles or visor. A hornet hitting your face at 50mph is like being hit by a stone.😮 No 15, don't keep a big bunch of household keys on your ignition key, when you fly off a jump your keys can come out and get lost, then you'll need to retrace your journey looking for them coz you can't get in your house/garage. No 16, always look over your shoulder behind you before changing lane. And after overtaking, the Driver might be an asshole and have sped up and still alongside. No 17 ride 5mph faster than the traffic flow speed, this will keep you thinking ahead and planning your route through traffic and less likely to get sideswiped by another vehicle. When travelling alongside a car, eventually they forget you are there and change lane on top of you. Just assume every driver has Dementia and has forgotten why they came out the house coz the music is lovely.🤣😂😂 No18 don't run over anything on the road, even if it just looks like a polythene bag, someone could have put a brick in it as a prank. And don't stop for fools on the highway, turn around and go another route.Safety first. Big Thanks to Cory for thinking of you and trying to help you stay safe.👏👏👏👏👏
