FYI, your 2015 Honda has a slight rattle on cold start which lasts about 0.5 seconds. I suggest you have your cam tensioner checked or replaced.. Honda has issued a Technical Service Bulletin 19-019 on this problem and how to resolve it.
Im changing the oil pan to a 2014 accord and its a pain in the ass! I have to lift he engine just to drop the pan! I have lifted the engine arleady 3-4 inches but still dont have space to take the pan out... Today will be my 3rd day attempting to take it off. I started off by taking 2 engine mounts off, then I ended up taking all the mounts off. But im still have trouble taking the pan out! I have lifted the engine as much as I can.. I dont have a engine lifter. Im using a jack to lift engine from bottom. But it seems the higher I lift it ,the more sounds of metal bending or cracking i hear, So now Im afraid to lift the engine more... but I guess im gonna have to try again today. thanks to your video I didnt know that maybe the hoses are whats making the job harder
Great tutorial! Easier said than done but you guys made it look easy.. do you know if using a 2017 cvt tranny would work in a 2013 cvt or is it year specific bolt on? I’m curious
@@thequickautolook ty ty, also I noticed at 9:47 when you start the car it made that loud grinding noise, that is from the timing chain tensioner, a relatively easy part to change but would highly recommend doing it
Great video, my 2015 2.5 cvt accord was running great 150k miles, today, gearbox stopped engaging, as if car is in neutral. Car is not going in any gear. Idk what’s going on
Question: I hit the bottom of the transmission pan and made a hole in it, transmission fluid leaked out completely. I kept driving the car after hitting the pan not knowing it was serious. Engine bay started to smoke due to transmission fluid vapors and eventually stopped on its own. Towed the vehicle home and I installed a new pan and new transmission fluid. No new filters. My transmission won’t go in reverse. It only goes forward in neutral, reverse and Drive. Did i damage my transmission severely or would replacing the filters help? Also I had a code p0717 and I changed the input/output speed sensor. Still no luck.
I’m not sure if Honda recommends replacing the filters. But I believe the oil change interval is every 30,000 miles. So it doesn’t hurt to do the filters once in a while like every 60,000 miles.
@@metzmatu8409should still replace the filter that’s behind the warmer on the front of the trans. Also recommended to replace the 3 o rings as well. I’d rather change out a $10-12 filter then risk it causing damage to the trans from fluid not flowing/filtering properly. Filters are there to be changed every so often. I do trans filters if there is a serviceable filter every time I change the trans fluid.
@@thequickautolook 161,000 miles…every 30k, I change the fluid ..still works like new , but the fact it can suddenly fail on a dime is unsettling…never again will I buy a cvt car for that one reason..it’s not my only car thankfully.

Great video. Takes me back to the days I did a rebuild with my Dad in the garage. Just like this.

is that that the rattle is? mine does this everyttime cold start, or after a fresh oil change

crazy that it failed. I have 2015 honda accord ex-l with 285,000 miles, oringal engine and transmission. ive never had any problems with my trans.
Great video. Do you have any pictures of where you hook up to remove the engine?
Do you know if you have to reprogram a used transmission swap on a 2017 Honda accord hybrid touring for it to start and drive?? Thanks.

Did u find out if it would be compatible? , I'm trying to find out the same thing, with 2015 ex transmission will be the same as the sport ,
I have a 2017 accord 2.4l cvt and just replaced it with a 2013 trans. 2013-2017 accord 2.4l cvt s are interchangeable
Hey can you help me I had a question did u have to program the transmission after the trans swap
Great cars worth the fix 👍
Finally a video good video on the CVT in this generation of accord. Anyway you could drop a link for the 2 filters and gasket for the pan? thanks
Thank you 🙏
I really appreciate the comment.
I will add the part numbers in the description so you can get them from Honda.

Yeah it's toast
@@JdmgjnFjahgks you where right. Had to replace the transmission
I think that only the high trims have cvt, like e-xl and hybrid
How many did you pay for the transmission?
Would you know if a manual swap for the CVT is possible for 9th gen?
Where did you buy the transmission?
You don’t need to put a sealant on the gasket ?
My 2014 Honda Accord sport CVT just failed at 192k miles. Looking at $2600 to get replaced.

Did it just go out completely all at once? Or was it making a little bit of noise before it went out?
is this a maintenance item? Seems to be a lot of work to replace the filter.

The filters are not maintenace items as per Honda manuals.
If routine CVT fluid change every 30,000 miles those filters are good without replacing.

Yo can you send me a link to the scanner you used in the video
Great video Brother!
Thank you 🙏
13:10 you see the car has 269,319 km on the dash which just over 167,000 miles
Did you really need to pull the motor? Seen them drop the trans from below if you take off the subframe
He explained that in the video. He doesn't have a hoist.
I dropped from below. Need to remove sub frame and push the steering column out of the way. Remove 3 engine mounts and Jack the engine.
How much cost total
Awesome 👌!
Daym 2016 accord and already needs transmission ?????! Ima buy a yugo
Great video. Thanks
You’re welcome ☺️! Thank you for watching

2013 civic does not have a CVT dude
What was the failure mileage?
Most likely a broken CVT belt. I’ll post a video soon
