    • @insaynbcr
      @insaynbcr 2 года назад +1

      @@guillermofromjupiter No. Anti-sieze should never be used on the zinc coated spark plugs. The zinc is the sacrificial element that breaks loose when changing older spark plugs. Adding anti-seize, dielectric compound, or any other lube can greatly affect the torque applied to the spark plug upon install. You can easily over torque them, and either strip the head threads, or break the spark plug. Anti-seize is reserved for the old black oxide style of spark plugs.

    What’s the recommend mileage for spark plug change. Mines a 15 w/ 100k miles still on original spark plugs. Runs great w/ 34 mph on the freeway & 27 mph in the city

    • @MrRangerZr1
      @MrRangerZr1  2 года назад

      Around 100k is a good idea

      Just changed mine. 140k miles. Original plugs. Noticed mpg’s were going down but not other noticeable faults. So they can really go for a long time I guess. I replaced mine with NGK ruthenium type. I’ll see how those work out.

    Can you put a list of equipments and tools for video? Thanks

    You didn’t have to use the “gap coin looking tool” and you didn’t have to torque at certain measurement when tightening?

    • @MrRangerZr1
      @MrRangerZr1  Год назад

      You can check the gap if you want to doesn't hurt usually comes pregapped

    How tight are you suppose to tighten up the spark plug and do you need to open the spark plug more when it’s new off the box

    • @MrRangerZr1
      @MrRangerZr1  5 лет назад

      13-16 lbf.ft of torque. If you buy the right plugs, no need for gapping. Correct plugs are listed in the description.

      It's actually very easy to get to the rear banks with a swiveling spark plug remover. Hardest part is removing the wire clip without too much force where you can end up breaking the tabs.

    Thank you for the video. Well done. Did I miss the torque setting on the wrench? Thanks again.

    • @MrRangerZr1
      @MrRangerZr1  2 года назад

      I don't use a torque wrench but if you do very carefully torque them to 14-16 lbf.ft

      They're pre-gapped but nothing wrong to check the gap before install
