I've always struggled with a slice despite shooting in the 80s consistently. The tip about swinging more inside to outside has been a complete game-changer for me. Seems to have basically cured my slice. The inside-out swing path feels like you're hitting the ball to the right with a more open face, but you actually hit it dead straight with the right grip. Insane mental hurdle to get over after years of swinging outside to inside, thanks Rick!

I'm a brand new golfer. Been at in a few months now in my garage during the cold season. I learned all my fundamentals from Tom Saguto. That was until I decided it was time to start working on the driver. For some reason Toms swing approach didnt resonate with me and I was off into slice hell. Lemme tell ya folks, it was bad. I knew all the basics; ball position, wide stance, spine angle, tilt. Still, slice city. On a whim I watched this video. I've become a junky and Ricks videos consistently have been entertaining and fun to watch. Admittedly, I haven't really sought out tips from Rick though. That was until today. I'm not trying to be dramatic, but this video is the one that made it click for me. The discussion on grip, club face, and ESPECIALLY the arm/wrist segment finally got me hitting it straight/left. When I combined that with the "arms dropping behind you" tip, everything fell into place. I feel like i'm "seeing" the ball and I can tell my swing feels so different. I actually got slightly emotional. I know I need to be able to drive the ball to play good golf and have some real fun out there and this short video is the one that makes me feel im starting to get it. Thanks Rick!

Rick, I can't thank you enough. I haven't played for 6-7 years before the last couple months. It didn't even take 9 holes in my first round for that strong as hell slice (that I never managed to get rid of back in the days) to show its ugly face again. I just stopped using my driver for most tee shots, just like I used to do. Then I watched this video... First round I applied those tips, I shaved off a good 5-10 shots from not having to lay the ball back from the forest on every other hole. It made it much, much more manageable, to the point I started trusting myself with the club once again. Still somehow have a bit of a fade going on, but man, it's good to be able to use a driver once again. Thank you so much.

I bought my first set of golf clubs a week ago for my birthday. I’ve always been a pretty good athlete but golf was one of those things my ego wouldn’t let me suck at. When you have an ugly golf swing… it’s horrid. Your videos have been absolutely instrumental. I went through the entire tutorial of how to fix your slice and pt.II (grip and follow through) fixed it. I hit a couple practice balls and saw what looked like a nice trajectory and much better contact. Decided to throw a real ball on there and take a “40%” swing because beyond our tree line is the neighbors property. I went yard on the first one and couldn’t believe it. I thought maybe it was a fluke and took a second whack at another ball. My neighbors house is fine but the people a town over are pissed as hell. Cheers m8, I absolutely love your content, please don’t stop. There entertaining, informative, easy to digest, and your one of the most likeable personalities I’ve found 🍻

I'm from Minnesota. Golfed like 6 or 7 times since winter hit around November and I just forgot how to swing... huge slice with my driver and all of my irons were awful contact and going right.
I watched this video last night. Seeing the grip reminded me of how my grip has gotten worse since last year so I hit a small bucket of balls today. First couple shots with my 9iron were flushed and my driver was the best it's ever been. Other than some going left I was ripping the ball. Everything in this video were things I had been taught previous except focusing on hitting balls on the toe instead of heel and the grip totally fixed everything.

I wish you'd posted this last year. It took about a dozen videos and three months at the range to fix my out to in/over the top swing. One thing I'd like to add is at 5:30, look how close your right elbow is to your body. Correct placement of the elbow and using that as an anchor point to keep my swing on plane also helped. Tried this trick and it did exactly what he said it would do (combined this with his other slice videos). Initially had a pull hook, but after fiddling with my grip and foot placement, I started striking the ball much cleaner and creating more a true draw. Not only that, I picked up another 2-3 mph (started around 94 and ended around 97) on my club head speed and another 20 mph on my ball speed with center hits.
A few 250 total yard drives later and my confidence was through the roof. These videos have been such a massive help. Can’t thank Rick enough. Looking forward to getting out on the course and put these lessons to good use.

Well Rick, I stumbled upon your videos a couple of weeks ago. I've always had a terrible slice and quit the game about 4 years ago. I picked it back up this year in anticipation of retirement in a few years and still had a terrible slice. I went out this last week and changed my grip to a much stronger grip. To my amazement, I went from slicing my drives 80%-90% of the time to maybe 20% of the time and the slice is not as severe. I think I really need to work on my body positioning, swing path, and follow through. You've given me a good place to start praticing to improve my game. I also used some of the tips to swing my irons and I went from hitting all over the place to 80% straight where I'm aiming. I still don't get near the distance I should for my body size but baby steps. I'd rather hit it where I'm aiming to begin with then farther. Thanks for teh help!

After just watching your grip and drive video and three days at the range saying my drive improved is an understatement. I'm crushing balls straight using everything you explained and I catch myself laughing at how frustrating and angry I'd get at slicing my drive or hitting it everywhere else but down the fairway. Sorry for the ramble just wanted to express that your 10 min videos helped me more then all the money I spent on private lessons. I'm now a solid fan and look forward to your content. Short and sweet and explained with simplicity. If your ever in Wisconsin let's hit 18 sometime!

Two weeks in working on this method and I can hand on heart honestly say this as fixed my slice.
I’m not saying I hit every drive down the middle and it’s still a work in progress.
However my really bad shot now is a straight pull. That’s down to timing/tempo imo. I do push a few straight right but no big week slice and I’m more often than not still in play plus a lot closer to the hole. My handicap as come down from 15 to 12.3 and shot I my best ever score of 79 👊🏻.
Obviously there’s other factors that have helped and one of them is using the stronger grip with my irons. I had a tendency to push a lot left R/H golfer. Now hitting the ball more squarely and straight.
Thank you for sharing this tip for me it’s so easy to follow and when it goes a stray I have something I understand to fall back on.
    Keep the tips coming 🙏

Thank you Rick. I used these tips and I was expecting it to take time.... I went to the range and 20 of my 25 practice shots had little to no slice with the driver. I proceeded to play 9 holes and hit 50% FIR. Incredible tips and love how quickly it helped me.

Watched this video yesterday. Went out to play a quick 9 today and used a brand new 5 wood and 4 Hybrid….this totally works. I’m a lefty and One hole the ball went just slightly to the right instead of slicing left….since there was nobody behind me I hit two more balls of the tee and all three landed in the fairway.
Wasn’t easy as I still sliced some and even shanked a few completely but overall simply changing my grip made a huge difference.

I have been playing awful fighting the dreaded slice specifically with the driver. I watched this video last night and took the stronger grip to the course with me today. The change was dramatic as it cured the right leaky shots and gained 10-15 yards to my drive. It was very easy to implement and it definitely works. The driver impact is now center/toe where previously more shots in the heel. The grip change also helped me with the iron play. I was nervous to implement a major change on the course, but was so frustrated with previous swing. Thanks Rick for your instructional videos. I actually had fun playing golf today!

These tips (which you’ve been preaching for over a few videos) has helped me out so soo much !! I’ve gone from not knowing what I’m doing... I had lessons when I young and got taught a very different style... to hitting it straighter, understand my swing and now really enjoying golf again. These type of videos have had such a massive impact and I can’t thank you enough. Gushy I know but I started playing golf with my dad, who isn’t able to go anymore ... to be able to find enjoyment in a game he shared with me was such a massive thing for me. Thank you

Well that explains a lot. Only have a 9 hole course here and I've probably played it about 10 times. My only golfing really ever. I think I mistakenly hit about 5 straight shots. All in the adjacent fairway on the right. I have a really strong (unintentionally so) swing, and watching this I'm doing every part of it wrong. Time to hit the range and strengthen the grip. I was taught to hold the club like I was holding a "live bird that I didn't want to escape" and clearly that isn't working. I'll be checking out all your videos now because I really enjoy being on the course every morning. Thanks!

Strike Location! Rick is absolutely right.
I naturally play a fade or the frequent slice. From the tee I decided to give myself more room, standing a little further from the tee when I hit a driver. Without knowing it I must be hitting the ball more to the toe and center and it almost completely takes my slices away!
    Great Video Rick!

I am a beginner golfer who has only been golfing 3 times. For a total of 36 holes. I noticed on my second time out that I slice all my shots to the right.
I didn't know how to fix it, so I literally just started always aiming far left. Knowing quite well the my drive is going to curve right. This actually kind of worked, however it is hard to judge and was still inconsistent.
This video gives me an idea of how to fix it. So thank you

Took these to the range (along with some other videos from Rick), best range session I think I've ever had. I was way more consistent with ball flight. Realised my grip / stance needed adjusting. I was way to close and not square on. Having a consistent target (use club as direction) and then place a club 90 degrees to this (creating a T shape). This helped making sure I was aligned correctly
