I have been slicing like a mirror image of this guy for years. I applied this lesson in practice and today I hit the ball straight up the middle every time. THANK YOU😃👍👍
I purchased my 1st set of clubs yesterday, played a few times prior and this is the exact same issue I have Teeing off. Best instructional video I have found yet. Will give this a go tomorrow hopefully it works. Thanks
This video helped tremendously. Thank you. I think getting the left shoulder behind the ball and maintaining sight focus on the ball is crucial. Immediate improvement.
Normally I watch videos like this and read the comments wirh scepticism. Applied this to my driver today and hit my first 2 drives arrow straight! Unbelievable that something so simple could have such a profound effect!! Great advice 👏
Love these live lesson videos. I have been working on my own slice for sometime and a good friend taught me a drill to get a better/wider back swing which actually eliminated my slice I 2 shots.
I have found that no matter the club, when my ball contact starts to go down hill I simply go back to focusing on more width in the backswing and it fixes any other issues that I might be having! Great lesson guys!
I took this to the range prior to my last round and my slice was instantly fixed. I’ve tried so many other things that resulted in a lot of swing thoughts in my head. I’m sticking with this.
I have been doing the drill with the club across the shoulders for the last few days, making sure I get a full turn. Played Monday night and scored 2 over par for 9 holes not bad for a 16 handicapper.
Another smart and easy-to-do drill. Very simple tips to remember. Requires just a little repetition and consistency. Thanks again, guys! Also, you don't need the apostrophe in the word "shots". But hey, you're golf pros, not English teachers. Lol! Keep rocking these videos! I appreciate you guys.
Glad this was useful Glenn. Gotta keep it simple and find one this can can make a huge difference. You can see how much the pivot changed Jason. Thanks for the grammar spot too! I'll let our editor know😂👍🏻
Great drill! Currently working on it at the moment! Love these videos, because you get to see your members working on drills and seeing the actuel results!
Started playing last year and got given a 22 handicap, have always struggled with my slice and my record for a stable Ford game was 28 in comps, tried everything in this video yesterday in a comp and came 2nd with 37points! Never ever did I think 2 simple things would change my drive a lot apart from 1 or 2 drives every other drive was straight down the middle
Last game I focused on keeping the triangle as long as possible whilst turning my hips and shoulders before lifting my arms, but most importantly relaxing the arms, as I realised I was trying to square the club face with my arms which I think made me tense up and come over the top more. once I relaxed my arms I was going straight as long as my grip was right.
I believe some of the best advice to any and all amateurs who are struggling is to SLOOOOW DOWN!! Whats your hurry? Why is your backswing so fast its moving leaves and creating a mini vortex? I also believe a major problem amateurs have is going to the range and just “beating” balls. Trust me, if you go to range and hit 40-50-80 balls doing same thing over and over, you will never fix anything. Slow down and feel your club. If i go to range for a 1 hr practice i spend 45 mins swinging half speed or slower. Last 15 mins is still slower but hitting full shots.
Great drill that I will be starting to use for sure! Watching my own swing that a friend of mine recorded for me last week shows for sure that I don't rotate back enough, especially with my hips. Great video, as always!
Literally watched this right before going out and every single drive was straight. Unbelievable that I've spent all this time trying to fix my slice and this was all I needed to see. Thank you
this is all so true but something us amateurs always forget. My club pro tells me in lessons, imagine turning your entire back to the range before you bring the club down. it works!
Recently realized that with match up drill, you have to keep your right bend a little to feel core muscle being used. Otherwise I was just doing big letting my right leg go straight lol
Hi Donald. In the back swing we want to have the leading edge parallel to the lead arm. This is a great check point . We actually have video analysis in our new app that could help you. See the link in the description.
I would find a way to square the face also if it is slicing. Check out our "Total Driving" plan in our app. It has all of our best content with our favourite drills to help. Check out the link in the description.
I noticed in the after video he still started his downswing over the top. I'm working on the same drill but I try to "feel" like I'm hitting the ball right and it keeps me inside out when I do it properly.
Guys I finally recorded my swing. I have a good shallow move but for me I saw that my hands were way too high in the downswing. I shallowed and then came over the top but still weirdly hit a draw that went 270 and swung out my freaking shoes. Back leg swung way out.
That usually works for me, but when I start playing well, I get some adrenaline and can't slow it down. What I've learned is to kill the ball, but with the right parts of the body. Try to explode with hips and core instead of arms.
@@quinnpettit7865 Wanted to update this advice, since you said you were going to give it a try. I've found as you're nearing the top of the backswing, feeling like your weight is on your back heel, shifting your weight to your front heel just at/before the top of the backswing, and exploding through the front heel during the downswing is the best way to "explode" while maintaining balance and consistency. When you straighten the front leg, it creates the rotation automatically, and keeping the arms quiet then gives that whip-effect for clubhead speed. Hopefully that's clear enough. Let me know if you need any further explanation.
i just cant hit driver again sometimes i find something that works and then it stops working i shot a net 69 the other day from the whites but could not stop slicing and the longer i went on the worse it got i have always sliced thought i was getting somewhere then started to pull the bejesus out of it now i cant even do that and i am back to slicing dont know where to go from here had loads of lessons but no one seems to be able to help me
I don’t think moving the direction is a fix. Cause if we do that on the green and we hit a straight ball we won’t get the target. Though I understand the shoulder but not everyone does a full swing so how do we know?
He has a flying left elbow. Get him to keep his left elbow closer to his ribs. Put a towel under his arm pit. His elbow being out there gets his hands through first opening up the club face.
Why make everything so complicated? This is the easiest thing to fix! All you have to do is have him TRY TO DO WHAT HE FEARS MOST - hit the ball dead right, or straight forward in the direction he's facing at address. It's impossible to do. The engineering of the club and anatomical limits of the human body won't allow it. No one ever tries to do what it is they fear most so no one ever discovers this. The basic problem is instead of simply hitting the ball, he's trying to hit it down the fairway. The golf club is hundreds of years old and hasn't changed in its basic design for a reason, IT WORKS - IF YOU LET IT. Everyone thinks the golf club is just a stick with a chunk on the end but it's actually an engineering marvel that almost no one understands.
Great lesson. Thanks. Albeit you both look like you belong in an inner London skateboarding park rather than a golf course😂. You wouldn’t have got on a course dressed like that a few years ago. Maybe I’m just an old git who doesn’t like ‘progress’…..🤷🏼♂️ Top lesson anyway fellas, as per usual. Appreciated. 👍🏻
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes golf is certainly changing and we definitely like the fact that there are so many different looks now and you can feel more comfortable. You will be wearing a hoodie in no time😉😂
Sorry to hear that Lee! We really think we can help you with this, would you say your slice is the only thing stopping you from reducing your handicap?
Certainly not, I just started golf last year. Its all round course IQ. Inconsistent shots, chips and putts. But using a driver definitely puts me in trouble most of the time. I've watched countless videos, had a lesson here and there. Still struggle with the slice with the driver. It gets ti the point I actually aim off now to account for it, which makes the slice worse.
Okay perfect. Well first of all I just want to say congratulations for already getting to a handicap of 25 in just a year, that's amazing! So the issue we find with a lot of slicers is they are looking for/given quick fixes that don't provide long term solutions. This is why we have created a simple 9 step system that helps you fix your slice in the correct order and provides golfers with long term consistency off the tee. This is a system we have seen work our whole careers and we know it can help you. You can find out more information on this here👉 meandmygolf.com/fix-your-slice-signup-b/?RUclips&Slice_Uni&SM
It’s square. He is just not closing the face through impact. So after impact it’s still square instead of rotating close. Once he learns to close the face he can aim more right and hit up on the club more.
just started golfing this year and I'm already driving 280-290 yards. hopefully some technique and an actual fitted club will do the trick to get me over 300😋
Well Fuck Me!!!! I’ve had an issue with my slice for a while with my long sticks. Took this video to the driving range tonight and implemented the drill. I’ve never hit my Driver, 3 wood or Hybrid so straight. Yes it took about 3 strikes to actually hit the ball but once I adjusted my stance slightly it was like night and day from my previous swing. This will save me £££ in lost balls 😂. May have to subscribe to the channel. 😎
Its actually an excercise i was shown earlier on, i had totally forgot about it, yes it definitely helps fight the slice. last driving range was a good session thanks for this reminder.
Yea im working on getting it more neutral path I tend to get abit quick on the takeaway and that's what causes the problem 🏌♂️🤨keep up the good work guys always look forward to your video s
Well you failed to correct in 2 shots. Try correcting the slice in one shot !? By turning your club face inwards by 3 to 5mm at set up and then hitting..I.e. you are closing the face of your driver. If you are now drawing the ball too much ? Tinker with that 3 to 5mm.
Why is it that every video on RUclips claims they can fix your slice, yet none of them focus on the same thing. Only true slicers understand what I'm talking about.

This guy is the best golf coach on earth.
Appreciate that 🙏
This guy has the same slice as I do. This drill makes perfect sence, can't wait to get to the range to try it out. Thanks guys!!!
Thank you guys. Would surely try this. Been practising your "Little step, big step" & "K" bomb tactics with great results.

Agreed. I think it’s really important to see the golfers try these and to see their results.

Awesome transition

Why does the club face look so open at 8:04 in the after shot?
Hi Jack. I couldn't see what you mean. If it is right after impact, sometimes it can be due to a toe strike which forces the face to rotate on impact.
@@meandmygolf. I think that must be it...cheers
The club face is square at 8:04. Freeze the frame. He had a perfect point of impact.
