For the future we have to create something like what Carousell are doing in that each account created has to be verified and anyone who does a trade go through something like this. People can see their reviews to gauge whether they are trustworthy or not. Great video!
When someone saying “this watch used to belong to my dead xxx..” it’s a red flag, it let them create passable deniability l “what you mean this watch is fake? Your saying my dad used to wear fake watches? Wow I had no idea… wonder if he even knew, too bad his dead and I can’t even ask him” or some crap. I’m not saying that it’s 100% fake but it’s definitely a red flag that requires further investigation
I love vintage watches but I won't buy anything made before the 1990's. I'm fine sticking to 5 digit Rolexes where reference material is plentiful and I have the peace of mind to know I'm not getting ripped off. It helps that the prices are not insanely high. Well, compared to Rolexes from the 50's, 60's, and 70's.
