Thank you for sharing this. I have a Travel Trailer that sustained a lot of water and snow damage while I was out of state. I kept the trailer beause I have wanted to turn it into a tiny house. I am happy to see that someone else was able to do this. Now I can show this video to family members who think I am crazy for my plans.. lol I want to keep it on wheels because where I live in Alaska there are a lot of forest fires. This would allow me to pull my home to safety if needed.
I'm in Arkansas btw & I definitely need your help to do the same thing to my travel trailer dude, sadly it's just sitting on my land rotting away & you have just blown my mind with this video!
Lynn Sweet. I think this sounds like a nice idea, but there are some precautions. Many Tinyhousers have tried this and failed due to age of trailer, not seen conditions of the steel, bending from using heavy wood, etc. There are many videos out there taking about this topic. You may be ok if you strengthen it or watch the weight of every item you use. Maybe if you used aluminum whenever possible. The axle(s) may need replacing. You might not be saving as much money as you think by not buying a new frame made just for tiny houses. This info is not from my own experience, just from watching countless how-to videos. 🙂 Good luck. 👍🏼

It is really great to see a camper turned into a tiny home. It means more people can convert their campers into a tiny home once they retire from all the travelling.
I think the shower was the best part of the build. Looks good and super smart having the faucet in there to effectively make it a utility sink to fill a mop bucket. 👍
If you're happy with your home.. then no one else should complain! I think you did a great job using the Camper, turning an unusable place into a nice place to live😊
Super cool! I was going to do the same thing with an old camper I had bought when I was a sophomore in high school, but after really looking it over it’s not a heavy duty enough frame. It was built in 1974, so before HUD codes. The frame is more lightweight as is the build of the original camper, so it wouldn’t be able to adequately support additional weight. It’s also not as wide as a modern camper, so it’d be super tight with thicker walls. I’m going to sell the frame and she’ll of it this spring/summer. I live in a 1988 Terry Resort 24 ft camper that I redid and have been living in it since sept 2019 :)
Thank you. Yeah that would’ve been a tight fit. I know what you mean about the frame. I was even a little worried about the frame on mine. This one was a 2007 wildwood le.
Thank you. It was rough for sure. We went from being happy to heartbroken. Then from excited to build a tiny home to discouraged and defeated. But we pulled through and made it work. Then we was so proud of what we had accomplished.

And a channel that will have the answers when other questions come up. It would be awesome to totally convert like you did but frankly it gave me a panic of sorts knowing how much work (and money) this would involve!!
Most "stick and tin" RVs are framed out of 1-1/8" x 1-1/2" or 1-1/2" x 1-1/2", maybe a little 2x3 around doors and windows. I see why you tore it down and built it back up with standard framing lumber. Nice job Frank!
Awesome video and thank you for sharing. Can you go a little more in detail about the plumbing as far as if you hooked it in with the house in front of it or not? Did you have to use any type of sewage pump? Might be a dumb questions. Thank you
Thank you. You’re welcome. No that’s not a dumb question at all. The house in front has a septic tank. We just ran lines and tapped the tiny house into that. We didn’t need any sort of pump. It was all gravity fed.
Thank you. Well the foam boards are xps insulating boards from Lowe’s. The epoxy is from stone coat countertops. They have showers epoxy kits on their website and full tutorials on their RUclips channel.

Cool build, but I was looking for someone who really made a shell for a camper. Knowing what you know now, would you have built a shed to house instead?

I do have a question I would like to do that, But I still want to travel with mind and be able to hookup at campgrounds or families land if they have a hookup can I still fix it so that I can do that instead of making it permanent like yours?
Thank you so much. That was very nice of you. Yes you could make it movable and hook up to places like that. We wired this one directly into the breaker box at the other house, but you could just wire a plug on it instead and plug in into anywhere that has the plug in for it. They even make adaptors to plug it into plug-ins that isn’t the same type.
Do you still have the tires on it to.move it?pretty neat.Just curious if it will hold up.the original trailer was prob 6500lbs now it's prob 14,000.lbs
We no longer have it. We sold it. We did have to buy new tires because the original ones were dry rotted. It traveled from West Virginia to Arizona. It did great though.
Okay I just saw your video and it's really cool. Just going to say I was super disappointed to see there wasn't a build series in your playlist. Do you remember what the stuff you used around the base was?
Thank you. Sorry, I wasn’t making videos when we built it. I only had the pictures. That stuff around the base is called 28-in x 5-ft Metal Skirting Panels. I got it at Lowe’s. Thanks for the comment.
Great! Was trying to figure out how you changed the shape..you had to get rid fo the whole camper and just use the trailer! I LOVE the shower, how did you get the swirl of colors in the epoxy? I've used clear and glitter, items...but it's always been mainly clear. Neat work!
Thank you very much. Well we used three types of coloring agents. We used liquid, powder, and spray paint. All colors in each type. Black white silver gold. Plus Diamond powder. We made separate batches of each individual color. Like one cup with black dye, one cup black powder, one cup black spray paint, n so on through all the colors. Then we just dumped them all in one big bucket. Then we just poured that bucket on the foam panels. That’s why they’re all slightly different. They never come out the same. We used stone coat countertops epoxy n followed their RUclips tutorial for doing showers.
I'm looking to do something similar but I'm not handy so will have to get contractor to do most of work but i can help albeit limited. I have some ideas and would appreciate practical input for planning budgeting and buildout. May i reach out? Thx annie
We did live in it full time for about a year. It costed us $30,000. But a lot of that wasn’t actually part of the tiny house. It was for buying the tools we needed, propane tank n gas, plumbing lines through the dirt, fill dirt, having ditches dug & so on.
wow, so much work on it and an amazing result, congratulations! What is the cost of such a project? I want to buy a trailer but im still not sure if the cost at the end will be the same as buying it new. :) Thanks for inspiring me to move on.
Did you leave your wheels under it and can you still take it out on trips...etc..it is beautiful..ya all did a beautiful job..ya all should feel proud....
Thank you. We left the wheels on it yes. It’s able to be moved but a lot of work making it ready to be moved. Like removing underpinning. I’ve seen ppl make them though where they take them all over.
Thank you. The shower head came from Lowe’s. I’m not 100% sure but I believe the brand is Delta. It is metal not plastic. It has two heads with controls for each. One has a hose so u can pick it up n hold it. Man hours… it’s hard to say. My father, my wife, n I started working on it in the spring. We finished before winter the same year. We would all work on it all weekend long bc we work full time. I would also work on it before work n after work.
The only thing I see I would have done is add it 2 feet wider on both sides (4 foot wider) since your planning to leave it in 1 spot. And if u want to move it else where u can pull 12 wide
anything left original? from the trailer? Just the frames? Did it worth? Looks like you are breaking everything and building new, please clarify. What about taxes/city permit etc? I hear if you are connected to city water sewer you have to pay taxes as it is a regular house? What state are you?
No nothing left besides the frame. Yeah it worked great. We lived in it for a while then sold it. It’s in Arizona now. Idk about taxes/permits, we just built it. Idk about sewage taxes either sorry. I live in West Virginia.
Yes. It’s made for that. I live in WV & it gets below freezing. You must insulate & heat tape the lines that’s exposed to the cold. But this model has an internal heater to protect the water heater from the cold. But if the power goes out then the protection is gone. Then you must drain the water heater to keep it from rupturing. We installed spigots on each line for that reason.
It was in 2020. It was about $27,000 all in all. But that includes the $2,500 we paid for the camper. It also includes all the appliances like the fridge, washer n dryer, heater, n external tankless water heater. It also included all the tools we had to buy n a bunch of other stuff that wasn’t really part of the tiny house. Like we had to hire someone with an excavator to dig water lines n sewage lines n it also included the propane tank rental n all the propane inside.
Thank you. About 8 hours if I remember correctly. But that was for each coat. We only had room to do one panel at a time. N each panel took 3 coats. So it took quite a while all in all.
Thank you. The house is 8’ X 27’. The ceiling is 7’ high inside, except in the living room where the floor is higher to make room for the tires. Also the roof overhangs 1’ on all sides. So 10’ X 29’ counting the roof.
Thanks. Buying a trailer to build on would’ve been a good idea. But we bought the camper to stay in. We didn’t know it was all rotten. So the only thing we could think to do was tear it down and build onto it.
Thank you for sharing this. I have a Travel Trailer that sustained a lot of water and snow damage while I was out of state. I kept the trailer beause I have wanted to turn it into a tiny house.
Much better choice, good job guys!
Thank you
Excellent! Love the shower walls. Can you tell me about the shower head?
How many man hours?
Amazing job, beautiful! Be well and happy 🙏🌹
Thank you so much.
The only thing I see I would have done is add it 2 feet wider on both sides (4 foot wider) since your planning to leave it in 1 spot. And if u want to move it else where u can pull 12 wide
That would’ve been a good idea. Thanks for the comment.
What a great idea, thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome. Thank you too
Congratulations on your new build and thanks for the video
Thank you. You’re welcome.

You’re welcome. Thank you too.
Congratulations on your new home you built 💯🌟💜🌟💯
Thank you
anything left original? from the trailer? Just the frames? Did it worth? Looks like you are breaking everything and building new, please clarify. What about taxes/city permit etc? I hear if you are connected to city water sewer you have to pay taxes as it is a regular house? What state are you?
No nothing left besides the frame. Yeah it worked great. We lived in it for a while then sold it. It’s in Arizona now. Idk about taxes/permits, we just built it. Idk about sewage taxes either sorry. I live in West Virginia.
In 30 or 40 years you will think back and say man I wish we would have kept that thing
I’m sure. I already wish we would’ve kept it.
I just have one word...AMAZING!
Thank you.
I was wondering how - now I see that was a great use of the carriage - fantastic
Thank you.
Like the build except for the ceiling tiles, do they have asbestos,
Thanks. Dang. I didn’t realize that.
Very cool!
Thank you
Awesome job!
Thank you
The soundtrack is ace!
Thank you

You did a great job! I love it
Thank you
This was really great. Thank you for posting it on y.t.
You’re welcome. Thank you too.
Can you leave the water heater outside like that in a climate that gets snow?
It is a Marey tankless external water heater
Nice job!
Thank you
Tbh you could of just kept the camper and did that same thing on a cement slab or like some wooden pillars
The camper was rotten. If we did it that way it wouldn’t be movable
Great job!
Thank you.
Great job beautiful home beautiful couple
Thank you
Bless your hearts. Great job. 👍How long did it take you?
Thank you. Bless u too. My wife and I worked full time jobs and we was able to get it done in about 6 months.
Awesome!
Thanks!
Looks good Frankie!
Thanks Dave
I second that Frank!
What was the total price of the build? And what year was it?
It was in 2020. It was about $27,000 all in all. But that includes the $2,500 we paid for the camper. It also includes all the appliances like the fridge, washer n dryer, heater, n external tankless water heater. It also included all the tools we had to buy n a bunch of other stuff that wasn’t really part of the tiny house. Like we had to hire someone with an excavator to dig water lines n sewage lines n it also included the propane tank rental n all the propane inside.
So beautiful 😍 great job 👍
Thank you.
Amazing!
Thank you
very professional
Thank you
What was your final cost to this or about?
About $27,000 including all the appliances n tools we needed
How did you know it would be strong enough to carry the load.. I would have left it so it could be moved-
I’m not sure I’m understanding the question. Are you talking about the frame? I did leave it. We have moved it. Thanks for the comment.
This is a great idea. How long did it take epoxy to dry?
Thank you. About 8 hours if I remember correctly. But that was for each coat. We only had room to do one panel at a time. N each panel took 3 coats. So it took quite a while all in all.
Great job. Beautifully done.
@@lolawalsh9187 thank you
Awesome job 👍, what are the dimensions please?
Thank you. The house is 8’ X 27’. The ceiling is 7’ high inside, except in the living room where the floor is higher to make room for the tires. Also the roof overhangs 1’ on all sides. So 10’ X 29’ counting the roof.
Awesome job
Thank you
This is NICE... But not a conversion. Why didn't you just buy a trailer and then build on top of it? lol... Oh well. I enjoyed the video
Thanks. Buying a trailer to build on would’ve been a good idea. But we bought the camper to stay in. We didn’t know it was all rotten. So the only thing we could think to do was tear it down and build onto it.
Nice Job! Ron PTL USA
Thank you.
Beautiful
Thank you.
