  • The 2023 MLB Postseason is well under way and it is certainly going well, with one of the most dramatic series in postseason history. The Braves and Phillies NLDS Matchup was one of the greatest series I've ever watched, and many other baseball fans would agree with me on that one. From Bryce Harper and Orlando Arica and the Atta Boy Harper Comments. To Record breaking swings by Austin Riley and Nick Castellanos. This series between 2 heated rivals had a little bit of everything going on. It might not be as good as a Red Sox vs Yankees or Dodgers Vs Giants rivalry, but it's getting pretty good! #mlb #mlbpostseason #braves #philly #baseball

Phillies have a home field advantage unlike anywhere. Their fans are always standing, always loud, and they know the game very well. The passion is generational. They understand the anatomy of opponents and use it and get in their heads.
Big ups on the Braves season, but they peaked early and were not much different from the Phillies the final 2 months

The Phillies were just more focused than the Braves. A good example is watch them after their team hits a home run. Yes both do high fives but in a must win game four the Braves players were dancing around after a wall scraper gave them a 1 run lead.
Comparatively Harper hit a home run himself and right after he was leaning on the dugout watching the pitcher. That is the differenxe in attitude that decided this series.
The Braves didn't respext the Phillies and it cost them. Yes the Phillies were down 14 games but their record over the last two months was as good as anyones. The Braves just weren't losing enough to cut into their lead.

Turner led the majors in errors in the regular season, and he currently leads the majors in errors in the postseason. He is well below average defensively, and its because he plays LAZY defense, which drives me crazy. He sits back on soft grounders and waits for them to come to him, rather than charging them, and he tries to backhand or reach for every ball instead of getting in front of the balls. Those are things every little leaguer knows. The offense is great, but his style of defense is unacceptable at the major league level. It's an easy fix, but in spite of 26 errors on the season, he continues to play the same way. He never would have gotten away with this 20 years ago, because his teammates would have whooped his @$$ in the locker room.
