To be honest, at first I thought this would be spam, as I had to filter quite much lately. But thanks to you, I learned this was a phrase used to ID friendly troops in the vietnam war and later was also the basis for a very similar sounding march. Thank you for pointing me to this bit of trivia. 🎉😅
@fullvralex an old Cavalry poem: "Come on boys and grab your sabers! Come on boys and ride with me! Give the cry of Gerry Owen! Make your place in history." I have no clue who actually wrote it or when. I do recall having to memorize it many years ago.
