Obviously this kid is a savant , but what I notice in a lot of his songs is that his attack falls a few milliseconds behind the beat. Don't get me wrong, I really like it but it's much different bass playing than what's been standard for years. Watching his head bop right on beat like a metronome while his fingers slowly catch up is cool though, giving a feeling of sliding into the groove.

Sounds fine in my ear buds. You really need headphones or ear buds to hear the bass frequencies well. A phone or laptop speaker rarely will cut it.
