Yellowstone will make mt st Helens look like an 8th grade science project.
That was my comment also... Lol
I live in Washington state and ain’t nobody said nothin about no volcano goin off, it’s in an unpopulated area. Yellowstone is the potential apocalyptic volcano.
If it was true it would be in all news world wide. I live in Ireland as I've never seen or heard anything about it.
Agree. OregonUSA here and out..
It was on the news everywhere when it happened and the ash went around the world numerous times. It was big news back in the day (covered on all major news stations world wide since no internet then). It’s not too far away from Vancouver Washington and another eruption could be catastrophic with more lava this time around. Yellowstones volcanos are much larger and would be much worse due to their location.
It's been talked about for yrs now bro
I live in Washington, too. And I recently read some interesting stuff on Mt Rainer
Brother, let me give you some peace. I was alive when Mount St. Helens went off the first time and I'm still here. Everybody I know is still here. It didn't affect anybody I know except for the immediate area and some cities around that area with some volcanic ash. Don't worry about that. Now Yellowstone nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah,hey hey hey, goodbye😢
Yellowstone would make St. Helens look like a fire cracker.
Yea Yellowstone is easily the worst of the 2. There’s a reason why they call it the super volcano
Cunker yellowstone.!!
Yeah yellowstone is by far the worst super volcano it is 8 out of 8 on the explosivity scale
Of course it’s Yellowstone, because it’s a Super Volcano. But it also depends which one you are closer too.
@@eifionsanders3254not really it will effect the temperature worldwide as well as food production which has been having issues as it is put it this way if Yellowstone goes you won't be growing anything outside and you would need one hell of a greenhouse to hold up to the weight of all the ash because it would fall all over North America!
Yellowstone IMO even though it's a super volcano.... is less dangerous. I say this because it is never really allowed to build up pressure because of the many pressure reliefs, geysers, hot springs and the like. I just think there's too many holes for it to ever be this explosive apocalyptic volcano that people say it could be.
Yellowstone its a supervolcano
Mount Rainier, is the volcano that is keeping scientists up at night.
St. Helens was so beautiful, almost a perfect peak! You could see her and Mt. Hood in the mornings and sunset with suns pink glow. The Ring of Fire is scary but, good grief is it majestically beautiful!!
I was living in San Francisco California in 1980 and remember it well. That old guy refused to evacuate and perished. Others refused as well never to be found.
Mt. St. Helen's was broadcasted on all the stations, and it was a big deal back in 1980. I was a Senior in High School and remember me and my class mates talking to my Cosmetology Teacher about the horrific eruption. The TV was saying that their was a journalist missing and a elderly man who refused to leave his Cabin home. Yes, it was a big deal in 1980!
Harry truman,i think was his name
I remember we had a horrible winter in Michigan. Snowdrifts.
My father lived in WA when Mt. St. Helen's blew back in the 80's. Air was a mess for a while later. Yellowstone is a super volcano. If that blows the world will change for years.
Forever. The world will not be the same EVER
That ash even got down to So Utah, I remember that was on my car windows, saw no fire. Was told because of the wind and the height for the ash it floated all the way to here.
What's left of the American land mass as well eu
Agree Yellowstone
Yessss I agree too Yellowstone it’s a super Volcano 🌋 Mount Saint Helen went off the year I graduated 1980
Mount St.Hellens may cause more to happen to Yellowstone. To a degree all volcanos and tectonic plates are all connected! When something happens to one it affects the others!
I remember as a young teen back in the early eighties,in th U.K.we experienced a number of very cold prolonged winter seasons, i'm assuming as a result of the ejection of such a huge amount of ash ejected high into the atmosphere as a result of the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens, and gradually drifting around the globe.I managed to roll a snow ball down hill until it got to about 4 feet high!
I call Yellowstone a worldwide game changer for all humanity!!!!!!!!! It will blow its top one day!!!!!!!
i will say this as a person who lives only a few hours from mt. st Helens that's not the volcano you need to be worried about erupting in this area.
mt. hood, which is 45 mins east of Portland, Oregon. The USGS puts the probability of eruptions in the next 30-50 years possibly sooner. i have seen 16 mini eruptions from mt. hood in my 45 years on earth. the earthquakes from that mountain are starting to get stronger.
mt hood hasn't erupted in 1800 years so imagine how bad it's going to be.
YellowStone is the truly scary one. It can cover the country in dust and crops wouldn’t live as the sun could be blocked for an extended period. Starvation is a distinct possibility.
I was in sixth grade andI lived in Spokane, WA and was at a movie at the Fox theater, which is in downtown Spokane when the eruption occurred. I went to use the restroom and when I got out, I looked out the window and it looked like it was snowing. I went into the theater and told my parents that I was confused because it was snowing outside. When we got out of the movie they informed us that Mount Saint Helens had erupted, and everyone should cover their mouth and nose while getting to their cars. For weeks maybe months, there were inches of ash on the ground and all over everything. We went and visited family who lived just south of Mount Saint Helens and I have hours of videos of Mount Saint Helens continuing to erupt with us going in and out of frame for posterity sake. It was honestly pretty cool to have experienced it. The only thing that I didn’t like was that my classmates and I missed our sixth grade camping trip due to the eruption. My classmates and I were not happy. Lol. We still talk about it to this day and we are all in our mid 50s.
You were lucky both ways to becthere and to survive it.great story
You need to post these videos. I would love to see them. I was living in Pennsylvania on the East Coast when it happened and remember watching the news and reading about it. Let me know if you post those videos. I’ll be one of the first watching.
I remember having to wash my car everyday because of ash .
I live in Florida .
I just gotta say, you put a smile on my face every time I watch you. Thank you for that. Love your channel!!❤
We moved to Idaho from cali in aug 1980. All along the way there were people selling the ash in little vials. We we got to Idaho and dug out the spot for our new home. There was about 15 feet of ash to dig up before we even hit dirt. And my town is 300 miles from Mt. St. Helen’s. It was dark in my town 10 hours after the blast and it was daytime.
I grew up in Eastern Oregon in a town called Boardman, right on the Columbia River (divides Oregon and Washington). We were about 175 miles east of Mt. St. Helens. I remember May 18, 1980, VIVIDLY. It literally looked like it snowed, it was dark, it got everywhere, it was eerie! In fact, my mom got an old prescription bottle and filled it full of ash… I still have it today! Then, about a month later, when my sister was playing All Stars BabeRuth Baseball (Pitcher-kind of bad ass), it exploded again! Crazy!! Later, around 1991, I climbed partway up the mountain… couldn’t quite make it the whole way! Also, around that time, I remember going boating in a lake (I believe Spirit Lake ?) and I’ve never seen a more crystal clear lake in my life. There were tons of downed trees, leftover from the eruption, in the lake! Mt. St. Helens is an amazingly beautiful but dangerous place! Great video!!!!
I remember watching it on the tv when the whole side came down in that piroclastic flow.with the new report showing it Wow i can still see it in my minds eye.i was only 6 years old.i live in England 🏴 im glad we aint got those near us😮
Yellowstone could be the worst
It is..
The earth goes through cycles. Civilizations come and go but the main control system seems to always stick around. We are seeing it's secrecy. When the truth comes out tragedy seems to happen to hide truth. May God bless all of us and one day learn we are all in this together instead of being taught to hate each other. If we only respected life more than money maybe we could stop all the turmoil.

Check out the 1815 Mount Tambora eruption. The aftermath was called "The year without summer"
Happens quite often in England, we've had 3 warm and sunny days this year🤣
1815 & 1816 was the year without a summer 😉, 1811 & 1812 was The New Madrid, this was the Dalton Minimum 🌞 known as the " Mini Ice Age "
@@lookingglass9966 I stand corrected. It has been amended.
@@minneiskian it's all good, 😉 I just know because I live in Kentucky & I'm fascinated with volcanoes also. The shear power & the beauty of them at the same time. It's like we are ants living on a huge ant hill when it comes to nature 🤔
@lookingglass9966 I hear you. I've been fortunate enough to see Mt St Helens on a few occasions, and to see the barren landscape and ash deposits 40 years after she went kerblewy, it is an awesome site for sure.
So that's not what happened to very terry at all!
Very terry was an enthusiastic outdoor journalist and he died watching the pyroclastic cloud roll down the mountain towards him. Knowing he wouldn't survive trying to outrun it, he set his camera up and recorded the whole thing, front row seat. That's why he was referenced in the movie 2020 played by Woody harlson.
From what I’ve been able to find, The Cascades volcano Observatory in Vancouver Washington responds to dangerous volcanic activity in Washington, Oregon and Idaho! I would never have thought Idaho😒!
St. Helen's is a volcano.
Yellowstone is a ginormous caldera supervolcano.
Yellowstone is exponentially worse situation.
It was nice knowing y'all.
I usually watch your channel on itube tv I find it enjoyable n also watch you become better n better your awesome
I was in tenth grade In Las Vegas when the eruption happened in 1980. Each year when school lets out, I would spend my summer's on Whibley Island. Passing the Beautiful Mt was my favorite part of traveling. School was out for the summer, a month after the eruption.
I will never forget the ride, the beautiful Mt. was gone.
Everything was covered in ash, gray with a quiet tone of slalom.
I remember thinking about how such a powerful Mt. could be taken down with such force.
I have a clay plate made of ashes from the Mt. A picture of Mt. Is carved in and hand painted.
I live in washington. One of my relatives lived on tge mountain and worked for weyerhauser. Him and his wife were working out there when the mountwin blew. No trace of them since.
Just saw your video. Thank you.
I was alive, about age 28 at the time. I was living in Woodland Hills, CA, so saw it reported on the news. We had heard it was about to blast in the preceding days. So, many were watching. It was all over the news. The whole area was evacuated. But, an older man whose name was Harry Truman, a prospector that ran the Mount St. Helens Lodge at Spirit Lake near the base of the mountain refused to leave. He became very famous and became etched in my memory. When the mountain erupted on May 18, 1980, he was killed by a pyroclastc flow! A number of others were, as well. Since then I read of a geologist that was observing and photographing the mountain across from the peak who was also killed. The blast seriously changed the landscape overnight. The news programs showed the ash covering the towns below. The towns were quite a spectacle, very dark and layered with ash. I still have a bag of the ash which I later purchased. Now, unless you live close to the mountain, you have nothing to fear. My cousin was living in Portland at the time and she's still quite alive.
Yellow stone is the worse
I was about 10 years old and living on the east coast when it blew in 1980. I remember hearing about it, probably on tv on the nightly news. There was no social media and no cable news back then and none of us had cell phones. I didn’t hear much about it again until I took a couple of Geology classes in college. I did move to Washington State for a few years after college and I did go see Mt St Helens in the early 1990s. My biggest memory of seeing the area were the massive about of dead trees that were still laying on the ground where they were knocked down during the eruption. If you can get out there, I would highly recommend it. It’s amazing and worth a trip.
Yellowstone for sure.! I have heard about Mt.
Saint Helen's waking up recently. I also live in WA state.
On a vacation there years ago I told the motel guy that it was smoking.....he laughed at me. "Lady it's dead." From the front..yes..looks calm...in the back there is smoke I told him. The day I checked out he was there...and told me..."You were right, it is still smoking in the back area. Some hikers staying here said so too." Mount Rainier will be the surprise I bet.
Crazy how I was first I see this and now views and likes are gone crazy❤❤🎉
comparing mt saint hellens to yellow stone is like saying a bumble bee is the same size as a bowing 747 airplane.
Yellowstone is a SUPERvolcano😮60 miles wide!,
I tink that is worse🤔
This is really scary for me because my bother and sister in law live in Washington state so this is always on my mind.
We had ash settle on everything after just a few hours of the 1980 eruption, and breathing problems lasted for weeks. The news informed people about the eruption and covered it for weeks after. We have better information about volcanos but people are not watching Yellowstone like it needs to, it will take a lot more States affected. I enjoy watching your show…Thank you.
I am 65 years old and I lived in Northeast Ohio at that time and we actually had volcano ash in Northeast Ohio. It was not only talked about but literally made people aware of how big that side blowout was.
I was 9 years old living in St. Louis and playing catch with my Dad it was about sunset and he pointed Too th western sky and I Saw the Eruption in the jet stream my Dad said to me it would circle the world and it Did ...
God Bless You and Your Family's
Yellowstone is a super volcano. I have lived in Washington state all my life. Presently at the foot of Mt St Helens! I was in Renton Wa when it blew. We had ash everywhere but most of it blew over to Yakima. Eastern Washington got hit hard. We were cut off from Oregon. My aunt was a nurse and they wanted her back in Portland but she couldn’t get there. It’s still a “basic” volcano unlike Yellowstone which has multiple times the magma underneath. Peace ✌🏼
Mt. Rainier is the most dangerous one, because of it's great height, frequent earthquakes, active hydrothermal system & extensive glacier mantle. It hasn't erupted for 500 years, so it just may be DUE !!!
Juan de Fuca plate is pushing under the North American plate known as Cascadia has been having way more quakes recently. I worry more about Cascadia off coast of southern BC, WA, OR and northern most CA.
My sister lived in Portland in the 1980’s when she blew. It caused inconveniences for a while. Yellowstone would kill millions and cause a nuclear winter. Yellowstone is a Super Volcano, not even in the same category as Mt. St. Helen’s.
We thought about the weather changing when St Helen irrupted. We were worried about another Ice age. Unsteady the temp dropped a little for the year. Nothing major.
It's the vampires that emerge after the sky darkens we need to worry about
I remember watching it on the tv news when I was 15 years old. This was big news for weeks and months. And talked about for years after.
Thanks for sharing this 👍👍✌️
I lived in Montana in 1980, yes we got ash there about 1\2 inch deep. It blew around and was in the air to walk or drive. Cows and horses were covered in ash. It was a mess for a while Rain helped to clear the air and wash ash off cars. It helped the ash in the air but it was still there for weeks.
I remember the Mt st Helen eruption in 1980! Right before I graduated from highschool! It was SCARY CRAZY to even watch on TV in real time! Stopped the world! Everyone watched in fear! Who's next!? ...if I'm remembering correctly, we experienced a faint ash like dust on everything in NH, for days after.
Helens is only a threat to people on the mountain and nearby lakes depending on what side fails. Its flooding and ash that cause most havoc. I would take a cascade volcano blow over Yellowstone anyday. I grew up by the mountain and its one of my favorite places in the whole world. The campgrounds are beautiful and its all growing back incredibly well.
Yes I distinctly remember the explosion in 1980. It was all on the news and I'm surprised that your family didn't talk about it.
Long Valley Caldera... still has its cap and is more active and more dangerous than Yellowstone Caldera.
I was in south eastern B.C. Canada at the time of Mount Saint Helens eruption, our area was covered in ash, but your right no one talks about it much. not sure why.
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 8 years old and we watched reruns of it in school on the news. We didn’t realize what it was. Or how powerful the eruption was!!
St Helens is a strato volcano which is big but Yellowstone is super volcano a global killer if a full eruption takes place.
It would be a global killer and if it erupts US will be underwater actually because it’s on the fault line that splits us in half which would cause a huge problem
I lived in Massachusetts at the time it erupted, we got ash in Massachusetts from it! Crazy!
Got it in Florida as well .
I live 48 miles from Kilauea and I live at the foot of Mauna Loa . Yeah it can get wild around here.😂
I remember watching it in the news. I was like 6/7 years old. It was crazy! The world climax was different back then and less populated.
I live in Washington too, no issue that I know of. Shes been fairly quiet. I'd worry about Yellowstone!!
I lived in Olympia back in 1979 to 85. It was something else.
I lived in BC Canada and I remember it, i was 12. The ash reached to the interior of BC. Yes it was on TV, radio. The people in Washington were very concerned and many evacuated.
I lived just miles from the mountain in 1980 when it blew. We had Ash everywhere and we felt it for sure
I can see mt st helens from my house, and was a few miles south it the day it blew, the ash in surrounding cities was crazy, almost snow drifts like grey snow, air smoggy with particles for a while.
You know Georgia has 7 volcanos but only one is still active on pigeon mountain.
I lived in Portland OR when St. Helens blew. Yellowstone will make St. Helens forgettable.
The underground volcano
I was living in the Catskills mountains in NY state when it erupted and there was ash falling there. At first I thought there was a fire in the mountains, but I couldn't smell any smoke. Then it dawned on me it was ash from Mt St Helen's. It looked like it was snowing. As bad as that was, Yellowstone is by far the worse one. When Yellowstone blows we all will be hurting.
#unplugged The Like 👍🏿 Button is Heavily Liked
Was living there when it first went. Pretty cool
They have been expecting it. I’ve been watching videos on this for a while and they have said it’s was coming soon!!
yes i remember, it was pretty messy for the NW area----air quality very bad--land destroyed, i don't remember how many died
If any one of these two volcanoes, Mount Saint Helen or Yosemite would erupt, I would bet would cause the other to erupt. Both would be catastrophic there’s no choosing. Just hope you and your loved ones go fast if you are anywhere in the near vicinity. The aftermath would be unbelievable for miles around.
i lived in kansas as a kid in the 80's and we had ash covering all the cars outside.. and yes it was breaking news
Yellowstone has the ring of fire, so it can cause several eruptions in several places
I was at School when St Helen’s went off and the dust was INSANE 🤯
Yellowstone by far bro!! Yellowstone has a caldera 45 miles one way and 60 the other... Yellowstone is categorized as a super volcano
We were in California at the time & watched thebuild-up to the eruption, watched it in real time, but in northern CA., we never saw any ash from it. We are now in northwestern Oregon & we do keep an eye on it, like we do with all volcanoes near us. I think St. Helen's is more dangerous than Yellowstine, but Yrllowstone is a hugecaldera , would be much bigger.
Yellowstone and Long Valley in California is worst. Both are super volcanos.
Was there. Celebrating my birthday on the 17th in a downtown Portland hotel. The next morning you couldn’t see the sky. Nothing but ash for days.
I was playing church softball, when it went off. It looked like a fast moving solid cloud of dirt. Churning and hauling ars. We got dusted for days.
Yellowstone, New Madrid too.
It's crazy the one in sicily erupted today !
Yellowstone is a super volcano. Mt. Saint Hellens blew when I was young while fairly close and I am fine.
I was just a kid when Mt. St. Helens last erupted you can still dig down in undisturbed ground and find an ash layer about 4-6 ft down. We got feet of ash in our front yard it was like breathing sandpaper. you could not start your car it ruined the engines or any moving parts like walking through a sandblaster.
Yellowstone! Camping Felegri, Long Valley Caldera, Mt. Rainier and Iceland all filling.
What if they all go off at the same time or close to one another.
Matt it is said by a reputable app that if one of those northern volcanoes goes, then more than likely the cascada will be activated. We will have high numbers as opposed to a very large one the app said.
I remember when Mount St. Helens blew. It was major news.
I live in Southern California and was 11 when Mt. St. Helens erupted in 1980 and I remember ashes were raining down and then just in the air for weeks...scary
I was camping about four hours north of St Helen't when it blew. We thought someone was using dynamite to blow stumps up. It was at about 8:30 in the morning on a Sunday. Someone came up to where we were camping to go inner tubing down the river. They told us what had happened. It was crazy. We now live closer to the mountain but we have the black hills between us so we are safe here.
It’s going to take out the whole Pacific Northwest as far as the middle of the country. We could see smoke and ash as far as I am in Maine!!
I know it's cracking, that's for sure.
I live in central AB 🇨🇦 I remember that day it was crazy!!! I was 8 years old, trying to make breakfast and I looked out the kitchen window and it was raining ash!!! Totally crazy!!
The 1 in 1980, sorry I should have clarified
I wouldn't sweat it. Yellowstone is a concern, but probably not in the near future. St Helens is small potatoes. It already blew its top
My parents use to talk about it when I was a kid at family dinner time. My grandparents use to talk about it too
Yellowstone Fr 💯
