Thanks for the vid mate, used to familiarise myself with the job before I do it on my own Leon. A couple of crits though... Pass thru sockets would help getting the shock top off and back on again, whizzing it with the gun won't properly torque it back on to spec, same with whizzing the two retaining bolts onto the chassis, you run the risk of cross threading the damn captive welded nuts and then you'll be re-tapping or taking apart the boot innards to remove and re-weld new ones. Copper grease no longer recommended on pads from like 2001(?) onwards, 1 - not needed as pads come seated on backings now from factory and 2 - pad backings aren't bare metal on metal calliper anymore 3 - copper grease liquidises at heat and can seep onto pad face and disk face causing potential brake failure - it's an oldskool technique that is simply not needed anymore. I appreciate the vids though mates and understand in a garage environment it's a race to get cust cars in and out again as quick as possible but the gun ain't always your friend.
Thank you for taking the time to watch are vids we has just started making them we take all advice and criticism i’m bored and take on anything we need to change it’s hard in the garage because sometimes if you don’t put copper grease on the pads customers complain that you’ve not greased them I know what you’re on about I do prefer not to put grease on them but some customers come back complaining after that we have not done it thank your comments I keep watching our new videos as they come out
@@carmandosgarage thank you mate, I appreciate the videos and was sure you didn't need advice as you're pros after all! Everyone works differently at different garages. I'm used to working on older cars but find myself owning sensible newer cars these days. Having videos like this on RUclips working on every-day cars is worth it's weight in gold. Hi, thanks for this. It is really helpful. Just a question, what spec is this leon? I have an FR 184, and I know the suspension is supposed to be different on these. Is it still the same process?
