Dont know if you read this Grubby, but I think the thing that lacks alot from the dota players, that Ceb highlighted well in this match are what every high esports player know , timings. You should know it given the rts background. In dota however, there are three "timings". Hero timings (power spikes for hero basically). For ex, in this game your radiance timing is within 11 to 13 minute mark. Thats the time you are basically the strongest farmer in the map. Another timing is called map timings. Ceb highlighted it really well with the power runes and minute mark during the laning phase. The last example is team timing. This requires more game knowledge than anything. Basically combining both the timings for both yours and the enemy and formulate a gameplan about it. Hope you read and sorry for the long text.

It's a mixture of those past high level experiences and learning a game's depth (pro lvl in WC3, high competitive HotS rank), combined with familiar aspects (dota literally being based off of WC3 engine), and all of it being re-purposed together. The muscle memory isn't far off, he's simply lacking the fine tuned details and intuition.

I'm so excited to see the pro community embrace him. It's really good for the scene, especially the parts where we see grubby spend 30 minutes demo-ing new heroes and playing a bots game

Joining fights as a carry when your team is losing is a very high skill thing. You can only do it when you are sure you won't die, if your team dies and you don't get the farm its grief. You either need to watch the fight while farming or have your teammates tell you about used cooldowns/mana of opponents. Its pretty much impossible to make right decision unless you know all of the spells and items they have. Better thing you can do is to pressure lanes and towers to force one or two heroes to deal with you(running back to the woods when they TP), this way you'll help your team by creating 4v4 or possibly even 3v4 situation. This divide and conquer thing works from early game to late game at all levels.

nothing beats the feeling of slowly getting better and better in dota overtime be it mechanically or skill wise.
Dota 2 is just one of those games that feels extremely rewarding especially if u make the right calls and plays!
when i got my first rampage in a online match in dota wc3 (garena) using yurnero mid it felt like like getting high on drugs literally and maybe thats also why Dota 2 community on average has the most toxic and egoistic community.
cant wait to see u get better Grubby, you have natural dota 2 reflexes and skills u just need more time to polish it.
