Tambien me di cuenta de eso, ambos caballos estaban alterados , tambien puede ser por sed, también por la cantidad insoportable de gente, están expuestos a estrés tanto el guardia como los caballos .
😢😢Oh my gosh I see what the problem is now, he didn’t or someone didn’t put the bridle on correctly. He should have double checked it’s placement so bad on him if he didn’t put it in. So the bit goes in the mouth, due to second reins which uses an additional bar that hits the top palate is much harder on the mouth but that’s beside the point. They should have put the chin chain over the bit, it keeps the bit/bar in the mouth digging into the top of the mouth or being pulled too far back. So on the right side he placed the chin chain under the bit so every time he pulls it’s painful and causing the bit to be pulled to the left side that is why it’s so far out of the mouth on that side. The chin chain is due to the second set of reins it gives more control put is more painful as well. But due to uniformity they all wear them. Whomever put this on didn’t double check to see that the chin chain was on the bit not behind top of it. 15:45 look around this time you can clearly see the chain on top of the right side of the bit and behind the bit crossing to the other side. So think the bit goes in, the the chain is strung or placed so it’s on top of the bit and reattached under the chin. If the chain is not placed properly it could break a horses jaw, or twist the bit, it’s just so that S shaped gold second rein holder doesn’t pull the bar (they use the bar in the mouth for more control) to the back teeth or injure the top palate of the mouth. Now think he placed the chain over the bit on one side and under on the other side so nows against the right side of the mouth so it hurts. Shame on whomever did that, if they have a horse mouthing like that something is wrong, he never looks down just at the tourists. 😢😢. Tell me I am wrong because I see it now! The chain that keep the bar from being pulled back is over the bit on the right side and under on the left side. That is also why the second set of reins are not sitting properly. I hope the person who made this mistake will learn from it. We all make mistakes when learning but that one could have been dangerous to the tourist and harden or injure that horses mouth. No one wants a horse with such a hardened mouth no one can control it. A beginner rider can break a horses jaw if they don’t use them properly. They state in the guards info that most have never ridden prior to their training.
These Guards have been doing this for how many years?? And people expect them to change to suit the public? No one knows these horses better than the riders. They know what to do. Whatever the situation the horse cannot fail. He has to face whatever, and turn it into a positive. I am sure these riders would just, nope, out of here! But they can't. There is an emergency button. Tourists are getting worse, and it may happen that they do not do this anymore. It might be something in front of him that he sees. You do not know. You do not ride these guys, nor to you get the training, I have seen the emerge button pushed before. Nothing is more important to this riders than their horse!
Well someone screwed up, they didn’t place the chin strap(chain) correctly it is causing the horse pain. Look at the right side vs the left, one was under and the other is over. It’s causing the bar in the mouth that keeps the bit from being pulled back since they use double reins, most people don’t. It is hurting the top of the horses mouth, you can see it’s all askew! It’s around 15:00 something that you will see. And yes we can clearly see what is bothering him his mouth hurts. You can actually make a horse have a hard mouth by using bits that hurt or in this case incorrectly.
Too hard to watch, that poor 🐴 so anxious, surely the Kings Guard would have known something was wrong and seemed forever before the panic button was pressed. Look at the horses mouth and tongue, too sad😢😢 love from Auckland, New Zealand ❤
Horse needs help! Horse looked at the panic button as if to say " let me push that button if you won`t". Guard needs to be more attentive. Love this channel from USA.
The guard probably has to follow a certain procedure before pushing the button. They are very strict in how everything looks. The rider probably was concerned and cared, but higher ups have rules, and they don't have concerns for a horse. Inspection of the guard and his mount before going to the booth wasn't done very well.
That guard watched every step and followed procedure to the letter. He was 100% attentive. There is such strict protocol. The horses are trained for this as well.
How would you feel if people just kept suddenly appearing from the sides and shoving cameras in the poor guard and horses face!!! they should have more ‘breathing’ space, well done to all you fantastic soldiers, you do an amazing job 👍
Needs to be better crowd control in the area, even though the guards at these particular stations mostly have ceremonial duty they still need some buffer from the large crowds of tourists.
I wished the police were more assertive and proactive regarding the tourists. Instead of chitchatting, they need to be taking turns outside of the gates to do more crowd control.
There appears to be no sense of urgency from the guard's peers, in fact the one who came out didn't attempt to help at all. So much for the "emergency" button.
I think the Police in my town were trained by the kings guards "emergency services". If you have a homicidal maniac attack you here the Police might show up the next day & if it involves paperwork they won't attempt to help you at all...
So disturbing to watch. Could the person filming this, have alerted the Guard there was something wrong with the horse. Make a signal, do something? Nope nobody came. Great.
These guards are incredibly well trained, the guard does this all the time, he called for help when needed. These horses are some off the most well cared for horse in the world. They have documentaries about them in the U.K.
@@mariaharrison7228 I am from the UK. Well aware the Guards are highly trained. The whole point was the horse was extremely distressed. Our view of the horses mouth was clearly visible, and there was definitely something wrong with the bit. It was noticeable. The Guard couldn't see, but the Guard shouldn't have waited as long as he did to press the emergency button. Also I made the comment that whoever was filming should have alerted the Guard something wasn't right. They are not a new channel and know the score. Never mind the tourists, see to the horse.
The only thing wrong with the bit is that it's off center in the horse's mouth. Not an uncommon occurrence. He may have been bothered by a sore in his mouth, but the way these horses are looked after, that's unlikely. Could have been he just didn't want to work that day.
It's most definitely the bit. You can see the rein buckle on the right side of the horse's mouth is sitting much closer to his mouth than on the left. It looks like it's twisted and keeps going in his mouth, which is causing him discomfort and most likely significant pain. It's definitely not sitting straight or evenly in his mouth, guaranteed the issue. You can tell by his constant lip movements, throwing his head, and trying to "back away" from the bit. Pawing the ground also is a sign of frustration. The bits they use for these horses aggravates me greatly because they are SO severe, they appear to be double bitted, which is extreme.
The horse is having a panic its not funny the tourists should keep away from it stop taking photos dont stand next to it well done to the guard for keeping control they need a barrier he needs help
No one judges the guard, he simply judges the passers-by who continue to take photos even if he sees that something is wrong with the animal..When you see a horse stressed, the best thing is to leave it alone, obviously with the noise of chattering and people continuing to take photos, nothing helps calm the horse. But after all the guard is somehow at fault when you look at the horse you notice that he is disturbed by the bit in his mouth and that he is in "distress" They should normally check their equipment before riding the horse
Where the heck are they when he has signalled by using the Emergency button.? One of the Police guards came to the gate and then simply walked away again. and also those "stupid tourists can see that the horse is distressed and still keep coming with all the constant "Jabbering " as well. which is not helping the Guard to calm the horse down.
Think the guard should have shouted stand back to the idiots standing in front of an obviously unsettled horse because they dont have the sense they were born with 😒.
Should it take that long for someone to come out when the button is pressed. It's a emergency button. can the people not see that the horse is unsettled?
I think they should retire this tradition with the horses and the guards! Do these horses ever get put out in a grass pasture do they ever get to run or do they go from standing still like this all day to install inside the stable?
They rotate the horses this many have been there first time out yes the horse is stressed but he working the horse well and the horse learning that if he acts up he gets doesn’t to go in just like you wouldn’t let you kid act up out in public the correction he making is perfect
You can see this horse doesn't like where he is but still the tourists stand laughing and taking photos, have they no brain??? This horse is restless and doesn't like being there..poor guard as well, he's trying his hardest to calm the horse down..❤❤❤
All these armchair quarterbacks. I don’t think the guard could see the bit! Obviously, he knew there was a problem, but how was he to know there was a problem with the bit? I saw a foot guard come up, look at the horse and walk away. He could see the bit. Why don’t you criticize the armed police who do nothing to help the mounted guards with either those crowding or teasing the mounted guard and horse. They are too busy standing in a cluster gossiping. I’m sure the mounted guard is more frustrated and concerned about his horse, the crowd and the bumps and bruises he will carry back with him than you sitting behind your phone criticizing.
There probably is rules against helping the horse or guard. They are there "to put on a show". The guard is probably frustrated because there is probably certain procedures and steps you have to go through before you can ask for help. Just like the other guard walking over and looking at them. He didn't really take a moment to look, and they're not supposed to speak. I also agree about mats being laid down for the horses to stand on.
I don’t think the button was properly depressed, as it was a glancing blow. In other videos there has been a response in minutes from 1,2 and even 3 troopers in camo to assess and rectify an issue where possible, and horses have been stood down where there was any concern for their welfare.
This is the first time I've been able to see the eyes of one of these guards. Usually in these videos the eyes are covered by the visor. But wow, what a "shifty" gaze going here to there! I realize they have to watch the people as they are guards, but if they are nervous then the horses are going to pick that up + then they will be nervous too! That actually could explain some of the horse behavior. But its a real challenge to control the horses under those crowded, changing conditions. And earlier I heard loud squeaky breaks too - all of those sounds could scare a horse. But if the guard is nervous than the horse will be nervous too. They pick up on emotions. That is a tough job though. Waiting, watching, wondering if some person will do some bad thing. Wondering "will it be today?" That sort of thing could drive you nuts. 😢 its a lot of stress + pressure. Then of course they have to worry that some freak thing doesnt spook the horse so the horse darts at the crowd. 😮 lots of worries in that job.
Both horses being bothered by what may be horse flies, which bite. Its hot and smelly, where they poo while standing, so attracts flies anyway, in warm weather. Not fair to expect them to stand still for that. I have ridden all my life and been bitten far too many times, so i know how it feels.
Thank you, I think it's flies, there is no way these incredible professionals have done the bit wrong, the mouth seems to always move when they are stressed.
I do agree with other commenters. This horse is having an issue...look at his mouth. I do hope it was resolved to the benefit of this amazing creature.

Why does no-one come when he presses the button. God help him in a serious emergency
Isn’t it a her?
Does that matter??
@veronicacrabtreehill6608 I think it would if he was getting attacked don't you
Look again, missed the buzzer with that punch
He can ride out and through the gates if he really needs to
Something needs to be done about the length of time it takes for them to answer emergency button
There needs to be a barrier around protect the horses tourist are way to close
Barriers are not possible it's a public street under control of the Council not MOD . Also potential danger to horse and rider if the horse ran forward .
@@kathellison8084 actually the area around Buckingham Palace is not by council. The guards house is under the protection of the king's guards. I am a historian who's field is Constitutional Sovereign Monarchy laws and Constitutional Sovereign Government laws.
Yes I’ve been saying this for a. Long time. Keep the public back away fro the horse and rider.
Too vulnerable…and the poor horse is mouthing too much.
@@ThereseHope The pavement and roadway is under the control of Westminster Council. Once inside the gates, it's royal land.
I agree!
I wonder if they get bitten by flies? He seems to be bothered by his mouth. This guard & horse have tired really hard to make this work and there is clearly something upsetting him. Well done. You both deserve a drink and a massage. I imagine that takes a lot of strength to keep him where you want him.
The mouth piece on the right side doesn't seem to be moving like it does on his left side. I think it's irritating him by poking him in the mouth or rubbing against it's mouth. He probably would stop moving his head if it wasn't constantly getting in his mouth. It's probably super irritating for the horse.
It just goes to show that these animals have their own minds, they can be stubborn and if they don't want to do something they will not be forced into doing it. Therefor it shows what skill, training and dedication it takes to pull off, train and keep the horses happy while doing some of the huge ceremonies these horses and riders take part in.
It’s like the saying “you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.”
there was clearly an issue with the bit from what I saw Also I wish they would do something about the flooring everytime time a horse acts up they go slipping and sliding all over the place very dangerous for both Trooper and Horse
Definitely. Surely the floor could be cleared after every guard charge especially this time of year. Horse fly bites can be very painful and annoying.
@@Champagne1 FFS these soldiers know what they.are.doing they look after these horse 24/7 he was bothered by the ignorant tourists usually Americans
I was wondering that too, I do not see any device or drains to wash area down or , needs to be done before the next horse on the hour.
@@vickywatkins37 no he wasn’t. His bit and bridle were bothering him 🙄🤦🏻♀️. Cut the theatrics and fake expertise schtick. It’s not working, nor is it attractive.
Nope.
It's terrible the way tourists act to bother the horse. These beautiful animals deserve as much respect as their guards do.
You would think that someone would have said to the guard that something was not right with the bit in the mouth or could he have been stung? The guard did wrong as well should have hit the button long before. This is upsetting to watch.
It appears both horses were agitated. But as usual handled very well by the guards
Tambien me di cuenta de eso, ambos caballos estaban alterados , tambien puede ser por sed, también por la cantidad insoportable de gente, están expuestos a estrés tanto el guardia como los caballos .
Are you daft? The rider should have dismounted to see what was wrong with the horse.
The expression chomping at the bit, comes to mine!
😂
You would be to if your bit and bridle were fitted like that. It has to hurt. I feel sorry for the poor girl.
Or even ‘comes to mind’.
One of the issues is that from where the guard sits atop the horse- he can’t see what we’re seeing- the horse constantly licking and biting-
Poor horse, he is agitated ❤
I love that you do this for us. I haven’t been to London since 1982 so I so enjoy our time videoing this for us. I’m now in Wyoming USA
Surely the police can hear the clatter of the hooves of this unhappy horse and come to investigate. The guard needs help to try to settle the horse.
Good for you, I was cussing at that guard for letting the horse be in distress for so long. Even when another guard did come along he did nothing.
The garage does look great; but I really enjoyed the furious sheep ride. I am smiling. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ one for each.
The horse is anxious.
i really wish the guard had hit the button after it happened a couple of times, poor horse xoxox having said that, they all still do a wonderful job.
How would you feel if people just kept suddenly appearing from the sides and shoving cameras in the poor guard and horses face!!! they should have more ‘breathing’ space, well done to all you fantastic soldiers, you do an amazing job 👍
Poor horse , he's having a rough time of it . I'm sorry for him !
Cynthia, I noticed it, too! Just no way to let them know at the time. Felt sorry for the horse.
Response isn't particularly fast to " emergency " button being pressed, to be hoped there is never a really serious emergency
He didn‘t push the emergency button strong enough. he wanted to, but he did‘t raise an alarm.
Ohhh. I was wondering too why so long
You would think that no-one had ever seen a Horse before. Behaving like they were witnessing an Alien fir the first time. It's crazy. 😂
It’s a good job the horse wasn’t rampaging around the public with the length of time it took for them to respond to the alarm
I know exactly how that beautiful horse felt, he was irritated 😢, i hope 🙏🏼 they let him rest in someway
That horse was saying, will you pleeeze push that button !!!
The horse is having a panic its not funny the tourists should keep away from it stop taking photos dont stand next to it well done to the guard for keeping control they need a barrier he needs help
that is a public footpath and any form of barrier would be dangerous both for the horse and rider.
13:08 for those who just want to see what the whole fuss was about
Please stop judging the guard they train hard ,they know what they,re doing .
He didn't check his equipment and ignored the distress his horse was in, no problem solving useing common sense
Not in this case. Some guards are bloody wankers.
These horses put up with so much. Impressive!
Not impressive very sad.
He punched the emergency button at about 11 minutes and nobody came to help him by the time the video ended. W😣here was the help???
Hit at 13 min and 10 seconds
I have noticed with a lot of these horses that they appear to be uncomfortable with the bit.
I agree its hurting his mouth 😢
Bit is not right in his mouth
The bit is not right and he needs some water.
Those men on the horses need to be more able to see or tell when a horse is in distress I think. This horse clearly was for a long time.
Think the guard should have shouted stand back to the idiots standing in front of an obviously unsettled horse because they dont have the sense they were born with 😒.
Probably because they weren’t born with any. It’s all about me me me today.
They are still waiting to this day for someone to come
Really don't understand why it took so long for the guard to ask for help when the horse was so obviously distressed.
The horse is finished and is trying to brush the guard off! ❤
Should it take that long for someone to come out when the button is pressed. It's a emergency button. can the people not see that the horse is unsettled?
I feel so so very sorry for the horse! Whoever was in charge of dressing him did a horrible job with that bit 😡
No. The bridle has either broken at the curb chain or been interfered with by a tourist! The horse is distressed!
😢
That poor horse is desperately uncomfortable. Needs to be taken back to his stable and calmed, with bit and bridle removed.
Even horses have an off day. But yes the double bit doesn’t look right.
I agree about the bit. One side is definitely sitting oddly compared with the other side.
Guard should know his horse is trying to tell him there's a problem (bit issue).
Poor horseman.
Exactly 💯
I think they should retire this tradition with the horses and the guards!
Do these horses ever get put out in a grass pasture do they ever get to run or do they go from standing still like this all day to install inside the stable?
They rotate the horses this many have been there first time out yes the horse is stressed but he working the horse well and the horse learning that if he acts up he gets doesn’t to go in just like you wouldn’t let you kid act up out in public the correction he making is perfect
The bit needs to be adjusted.
You can see this horse doesn't like where he is but still the tourists stand laughing and taking photos, have they no brain??? This horse is restless and doesn't like being there..poor guard as well, he's trying his hardest to calm the horse down..❤❤❤
He is unsettled ❤
It looks as though flies are upsetting this beautiful horse.
What bothers the horse is the bite in the mouth; they should normally check their equipment before riding.
All those powerful beautiful muscles want to RUN!
He wants to RUN away from his miserable life in London.
Yep.
The guards are very kind, they don’t yell at the children for being too familiar, but they do yell at adults that should know better.
Why isn't anyone coming to help?????
I don’t think the button was properly depressed, as it was a glancing blow. In other videos there has been a response in minutes from 1,2 and even 3 troopers in camo to assess and rectify an issue where possible, and horses have been stood down where there was any concern for their welfare.
When the KG came out and went to the right, i couldn't help but scream "ITS THE OTHER HORSE!"
How long does it take for the emergency people to come?
It's always the same, it's disgraceful. Cheers Rosemary Perth Western Australia 72yrs
Does it mean something when the horses's mouth is constantly moving? And why didn't the Guard give him a few comforting pats occasionally?
I’m sure he know how to take care of these beautiful horses
Both horses being bothered by what may be horse flies, which bite. Its hot and smelly, where they poo while standing, so attracts flies anyway, in warm weather. Not fair to expect them to stand still for that. I have ridden all my life and been bitten far too many times, so i know how it feels.
Thank you, I think it's flies, there is no way these incredible professionals have done the bit wrong, the mouth seems to always move when they are stressed.
Each horse would have its own individual supplies, bridle etc and not used on another horse so an issue with a bit seems unlikely.
You can see it’s not sitting right the right side is up higher then the left
I do agree with other commenters. This horse is having an issue...look at his mouth. I do hope it was resolved to the benefit of this amazing creature.
I’m a long time equestrian,,that bridle is kinked and quite possibly pinching the lip of the horse. Push the button, take care of your mount.
Their helms and chest plates look so badass
The membranes inside the horses nose are so red, almost like he has ran a race,he’s not a happy horse 😢
I noticed the very red nose membranes, definitely an unhappy horse.
😢
Why would they let this poor horse suffer this way. Queen Elizabeth would never have.
Actually, both bits look out of whack.
I too thought the bit was aggravating the horse and probably making his mouth sore
So many expert horse man leaving comments.
I'm watching an animal in pain- how long did it take to press the alarm?????
Hell wait for along time before he ring the button
