Its been noisier than usual in London Kelly. The crowds are so big these days then there are demos about oil & goodness knows what where they have loud hailers. The horses are *very well looked after, the Guards are well trained & there is a top class vet on duty if they have the slightest niggle!

It’s polite and prudent to ask the guard first, but only once have I seen a guard say “no” when asked if his horse could be stroked, and that horse was acting very skittish at the time and had his ears back. Even I could see that getting close then would not have been a good idea. Anyone who is a UK taxpayer and doesn’t agree with allowing touching should contact their MP about changing the policy. Whining on social media is ineffective.

Notice the "room moms..and dads" accompanying those groups of children, and how well behaved they were. They easily could have started taking pics by the horse, but didnt. Too bad some of the middle and high school parents trust their kids to do the right thing and show respect...and instead they go home with "funny" stories instead...and their parents probably just laugh.

I have every respect for MOD police but having been closely related to 4 members of the armed forces since 1963 I, like most people who have been in or associated with the armed forces, have always affectionately known them as mod plod. Every MOD plod looks upon the term as an affectionate joke.
People seem to forget that these are real soldiers (usually the best in their regiment) carrying real weapons on operational duty. They're not actors playing dressup for tourists... The posting is very prestigious, an honour for the best the armed forces have to offer, they mean business and they will wreck you if you give them cause.

It only takes a few people to ruin it for people that would like to witness history of the UK military. This country with all their military history - deserves respect. The horses are also working in the military, and people think they are pets. If people get bit or stepped on - it is the humans fault - the horses are restrained in one position and are on duty. Some people have suggested replacing the written signs with graphic signs similar to road signs. There would be no need to speak English then. I honestly don't know if they would work better, but something needs to be done to stop the horses being swamped by pawing tourists.

The little lad at 1.50 made me chuckle. He stood by the arch and who I assume is his Dad was gesturing to get closer. The kid was like Nope.

I find it absolutely ridiculous that kids respect the guards and horses more than grown adults maybe adults need to follow their child even though it should be the opposite. Very sad really

A lot of people are so rude. No manners. People trying to take pictures and step right in the way. Some people take pictures and never leave so others can have a turn. The horse and soldiers should be treated with Respect! They work protecting the Royal Palace with the Queen inside. Grow up people. Learn to respect others, especially if this isn’t your country!

Definitely could not see the man do anything, but obviously from the horse and guards reaction it must have been something important enough for the policeman to go after him and have a stern talk. Do these type of idiots ever truly get arrested? If they were it might deter other idiots from touching the reins , etc.

For a start the officer should've ordered the man to pocket his phone! Like just get off the bloody phone! At 4:19 good on the gent to hand over the shoulder bag to the owner's companion...and look who's standing beside the horse...then he walks over and in less than a min he does whatever he does to upset the other horse and guard.
