any leak before the airflow sensor doesnt matter. For example the leak at the airbox wont affect anything since its before the airflow sensor and is not being metered.
Now once the air filter housing is sealed the smoke could come out the air intake. So you have to work your way back into the engine to find how the smoke got out or is that normal. Understanding the routing of your emissions on your vehicle will help you find a leaky valve or gasket. Good basic video to help one get started in the search for that elusive small leak.

@@robertsheeley8619 if you want to find a real vacuum leak and not just snorkel plumbing ... By the way the air filter leak posted in the video will not produce a check engine light... Then you need to remove it and seal the throttle body for proper testing have a nice day misleading was what this video was to uneducated viewers as being a real test with results

The video is to basically show you how to do a vacuum test. however there wasn't a vacuum leak on this car.
